You know I have to throw some sarcasm in there, and it's all good. The wound has long healed up because of what the Bears have done now. Then again, no one was to know what would eventually happen to them at that point. I have to admit that them trading for Rick Mirer(even at that time) has to be one of the biggest head-scratching sports deals of all-time. LOL! They traded their first round pick to Seattle for Rick Mirer! And what happened? The Bears lost their first seven games of the 1997 season! They had a tough act to follow that up with by selecting Curtis Enis and Cade McNown as their next first round picks in 1998 & 1999! Oh yeah, they traded down to select McNown and blowing a chance to get Champ Bailey! Those years were tough pills to swallow for us Bears fans! Needless to say, the draft has been more kind to the Bears in recent years with only a bust here in there(see Cedric Benson). Nice job on what could of been.
