34. Shonn Greene @ New England (Monday)
35. Tim Hightower vs. St. Louis

.
Inside the numbers:

  • Coming off a monster 173 yard game against Seattle, Jamaal Charles is set to explode on a Denver team allowing 141.6 rushing yards per game.
  • I’m a little concerned about Adrian Peterson’s ankle, but I think he’ll be just fine. He also happens to draw a favorable match-up this week. Only the injury concerns keep him from the top spot.
  • Peyton Hillis has 666 total yards and seven touchdowns in his past four games.
  • I was hesitant to give Knowshon Moreno his due, but he delivered with 118 total yards and a touchdown. He’s had at least that many total yards and a touchdown in each of his past three games.
  • Mike Tolbert has hit the century mark with a touchdown in his past two games. He should be at it again against a Raiders run defense that’s yielding 133.7 yards per game on the ground.
  • Marion Barber is expected to miss a couple of games, making Felix Jones a strong play against the Colts. Tashard Choice is a sleeper pick.
  • With Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs in a timeshare, I like them both as RB2s.
  • I am not high on LeGarrette Blount against a Falcons team that has allowed just 93.7 rushing yards per game and four rushing touchdowns.
  • They aren’t sexy situations, but Carolina (Mike Goodson & Jonathan Stewart) and Arizona (Beanie Wells & Tim Hightower) have a pair of RBs that can be used as RB2s or as flex options.
  • With Frank Gore out for the season, Brian Westbrook makes a low-end RB2 against the Packers.

Honestly Gore… First time I have heard of anyone under 60 yrs old ‘fracture a hip’. At least hes not a tease like Mathews and Floyd. Do you see Goodson getting more touches than Stewart this week and why is Ivory so low, Bengals are terrible and might give up 50 points.

True, at least Gore got a little going before he went down. I’m expecting a close split between Goodson and J-Stew. I still prefer Goodson a bit. Ivory is banged up so I’m concerned they will stick to the air when they light up Cincy.

    D,

The PT Cruiser might play this week too, limiting Ivory’s touches

this is true Dan, although with PT I’ll believe it when I see it.

Yo Lester, Steven Jackson or Knowshon this week?

Great choices. I like Knowshon a little more as he’s been on fire for a few weeks now. If your gut says S-Jax, I don’t have a strong argument against him given his matchup.

I’m playoff bound; so should I drop MSW for Westbrook? Move would be for bench depth

If you have adequate WR depth, that’s probably not a bad plan.

Picked up Westy in one PPR league and Dixon due to waiver priority. Just read Westy already had ankle issues and sat out practice. I’m pretty deep at RB, but wondering if I should drop him and pick up Dixon-figure the worst case is that Westy’s healthy and they split carries, keeping him from being great. The worst case is that Westy gets hurt, and that Dixon picks up ALL the carries. I have McCoy, Moreno, Goodson and FJax, so really I’m just trying to hoard talent at RB for the playoffs in case of Gore-like injuries. I’m in 2nd place trying to grab 1st this week, trying to cover all my bases. Your thoughts?

I am very concerned about Ray Rice going against the Steelers; last time he got less than 3 points–very rare! Anyone else scared away by this?

Is Goodson a better play than McFadden as my third RB, I also have Rice and Foster as my top two backs…

I always have trouble deciding which 2nd receiver to use. I have Jennings but would like your guys insights on no.2-
    Garcon, Bess, Obomanu, or Crabtree

I do like him a little better. They both are sharing, but Seattle is a far inferior defense compared to SD.

I’m really torn on what to do this week. I have CJ, MJD, and Charles in a PPR, and I can start 2. What would you do? If Kerry Collins doesn’t start this weekend, would it affect your decision?

Well Goodson missed 2 practices this week already due to a personal issue…. “They” are saying Stewart may get the start.

Do you see Stewart’s value now surpassing Goodsons for the week or do you like where they sit in your rankings?

Damn you Gore! Not that he had a good matchup this week but at least I wouldnt have to pick between Carolina RB’s.

I think Tennessee’s defense is better than Jacksonville, which is why I like CJ a little more. Plus it’s in Tennessee. However, if Rusty is in at QB, I can see going with Mojo. Why take the risk with CJ?

If Stew gets the start, I would use him.

Awesome work Lester, quick question for you…..PPR League, flex position, who would you start….Maurice Morris, Danario Alexander or Garcon? Thanks!

Bengarvis or keiland Williams? Also I need too fill the two n three wideouts spot with nanee, ward, garcon,or Blair white? I have Lloyd playing?
    Thanks

    oh, win an I’m in!

Tough decision at RB. I like BJGE over Williams. Both have tough matchups, but I can see Wash getting down big early and abandoning the run.

i like lloyd, garcon, and ward. If you feel like gambling a little, nanee or blair white are good options.

    December 5th, 2010 at 11:00 am #

Even with Blair playing big as of late an garcon missing catches? Ok leS, I’ve been pondering on ward,Lloyd, naanee or naanee,Lloyd, white?

Garcon had decent games of 62 & 72 the past two weeks. Blair has scored, but Garcon is still getting more targets. I think he breaks one against Dallas. If you like Blair better, I can certainly see using him.

Ward does have a tough matchup and a bad history against Pittsburgh so I can see using Blair over him.

A bit of a RB conundrum. Felix Jones, Steven Jackson, or Jonathan Stewart. Which two should I start? All 3 have solid match-ups, all 3 have major upside and all 3 have the potential to tank and ruin my week. This week is the make-it or break-it for my playoff hopes.
    Suggestions?

Sorry I missed this. Hope you went with J-Stew.
