Inside the numbers:

  • Roddy White gets extra time for his knee to heal. Not that it troubled him in Week 10.
  • New England is getting killed by the pass (277.8 ypg). The last time Reggie Wayne faced them he caught ten passes for 126 yards and two scores.
  • The last time he faced the Eagles, Nicks caught four passes for 110 yards and a touchdown. It’s highly possible he catches TD #10 this week.
  • In the first meeting with the Vikings Greg Jennings caught six passes for 74 yards and a score. Expect more of the same.
  • T.O. may not have had any run-ins with Buffalo like he has with his other former teams, but he’s certain to be up for the meeting.
  • DeSean Jackson tormented the Giants to the tune of 256 yards and 2 TDs last year.
  • Any question who’s the top WR in Dallas right now. Forget Roy Williams, Miles Austin can carry Dez Bryant’s shoulder pads.
  • My gut says Hines Ward will be able to play this week. He was dying to get back in their Sunday night.
  • With Steve Smith out, I slid Mario Manningham up a few notches.
  • Danny Amendola has scored in three straight games, and has a favorable match-up against Atlanta.
  • I don’t have any faith in Randy Moss right until he proves otherwise.

So I have Roddy, Bowe, Crabtree, Santana Moss and Malcolm Floyd. My opponent has Phillip Rivers. Would him playing Rivers give Floyd the edge over Crabtree and Moss as my WR3?

I would rather play Roddy, Bowe, and Crabtree and sit Moss and Floyd. It’s hard to rely on someone coming off an injury, especially since there is no difference between him and the players who have filled in.

My turn … in a PPR, I have the following WRs with *’s beside who I currently intend to play:

    *Greg Jennings @ MIN
    *Larry Fitzgerald @ KC
    *Mario Manningham @ PHI
    Mike Williams (SEA) @ NO
    Brandon Marshall vs CHI
    Sidney Rice vs GB

I’m sitting Marshall regardless … looking more hopeless for him each week. Obviously Rice stays on the bench. I’m curious what you think about Williams vs Manningham. The last WR to have more than 4 receptions against New Orleans was Fitzgerald in Week 5 … but M. Williams is drawing a ton of targets right now. From what I understand, New Orleans plays a 3-4 typically with zone coverage on the receivers … and Hasselbeck tends to throw to Williams mostly when he sees man-to-man coverage. Meaning, Williams might not have a very good week.

I’ve over-thought this enough already … what do you think?

I think it’s going to be a shootout against the Eagles, and without Steve Smith, perhaps he will have a better game than M. Williams.

I’ve had had Vicent Jackson for quite sometime. Now that it’s almost time for him to be active, I just received a possible trade for Ryan Torrain. Do you think Vicent Jackson will be a major contributer when he returns?

Do not take that deal. Torain’s hammy is no good and the way Keiland Williams ran and with CP coming back, you don’t want him.

    R.White

Thanks for the advice on the Torain situation. Do you think Vincent Jackson will become a major part of San Diego’s offense?

I have them all bunched together

    23. Steve Johnson @ Cincinnati
    24. Hines Ward vs. Oakland
    25. Pierre Garcon @ New England

Garcon would be the odd man out. Of course monitor Hines Ward to make sure he’s playing.

One more question…I have two must starters at WR – Roddy White and DeSean Jackson. For my third WR spot I have Marques Colston, Pierre Garcon and Santonio Holmes. Who should I start???

I like Colston against a bad Seattle pass D.

WR ISSUE: Steve Smith or Sidney Rice? I have Louis Murphy, Gibson, Walter, or Meachem on Free Agents. What do I do?
TE: Roll the dice with Gates or put in Cooley or drop cooley and pick up
    McMichael?
RB/WR Flex: Pick 1 : Brandon Jackson, Randy Moss or Mike Goodson

I’d put in Cooley and play it safe. I go with Smith (assuming it’s Carolina’s) and Goodson.
