Inside the numbers:

  • Wow, did Dwayne Bowe ever let owners (myself included) down last week. I think he’ll make amends this week. Same goes for Brandon Lloyd. When you bet on NFL, you have to be ready for the rebound. Unfortunately Matt Cassel will likely miss the game so I am tempering my expectations for Bowe. As for Lloyd, without Josh McDaniels, I think he goes down a few slots too.
  • Greg Jennings has 393 yards and five touchdowns in his past three games and a date with Detroit.
  • Sidney Rice looked great against Buffalo, but the Giants present a much tougher challenge.
  • Miles Austin and Roy Williams should be more active with Dez Bryant out and Jason Witten limited by ankle injuries.
  • Earl Bennett has become Jay Cutler’s new favorite target, and thus is the best play among Chicago’s WRs against a shaky Patriots pass defense.
  • Jacoby Ford’s lone catch was a touchdown to salvage his fantasy value for those who gambled on him. He should be more productive against Jacksonville.

Surprised Austin isn’t higher and Boldin isn’t lower. I want to start Boldin bad this week, but am scared Flacco may forget him as he’s done so often this year. I’ve got Colston, Boldin, S. Johnson, and Austin…..which 2 do I start?

With Heap out, I think he’ll be focused on Boldin more. I like Colston and Boldin, but I can see Austin getting more play with Dez done. I just have a feeling Kitna has a tough day.

I need to play two receivers out of this average group, what are your thoughts: Crabtree, manningham, santana moss, jacoby ford, kenny britt, or danario alexander. Thanks.

I like Manningham and Crabtree. I can’t trust Moss or any Redskin right now. Ford had one catch for four yards. Even though it was a TD, it’s a risky play. I’d want to see Britt at least once before using him. Alexander is along the lines of Ford. He could easily disappear. I think your Manningham and Crabtree give you safe plays with good upside as well.

Calvin Johnson is ranked pretty low this week…So you think I should start Boldin instead…

I would go with Boldin over Calvin against Houston with Heap out.

    Thanks as always…

So do I leave Britt on the bench tonight on the hope that Nicks plays on Sunday (and if not I plug in Hagan). Or pick up Driver and wait another week for Nicks or Britt.

I was looking to find a matchup based replacement for Santonio Holmes but it looks like he’s pretty high up on your list. With the Miami D ranked 5th against the pass and Sanchez struggling I’m suprised at his placement. Earl Bennett (vs NE) is a FA in my leauge along with Hines Ward, Sydney Rice, Johnny Knox, Derrick Mason(vs Houston), and Donald Driver with VJax warming my bench.

I would leave Britt and Nicks on the bench for another week and go with Driver. Hard to gamble on banged up guys in the playoffs.

I just have the feeling that the Jets are going to bounce back in a big way after that thrashing and I think Santonio Holmes will be a big reason why. That said, Sidney Rice, Driver, Knox, and Bennett are all solid plays this week. I don’t trust Ward and I think Mason is a little risky.

really struggling on who to start…standard scoring every 50yds is 3pts & 6pts per td. Need to pick 2 of these 3; M. Wallace, D. Jackson or M. Austin. Normally I would play jackson & wallace but three last 3 games jackson had against dallas, he went under 50yds. Like austins chances with bryant out but he can be so unreliable compared to last year. Wallace has a decent matchup and went for over 100 & td against cincy earlier this yr. Weather could be a concern with him however. Thoughts? Love the site and appreciate the help.

Thanks Bez. Good problem to have. Certainly keep an eye on the weather since you have such good options. I like Jackson & Wallace, but don’t see a problem with switching Jackson for Austin. Maclin has been better than Jackson in recent weeks. I just wonder how Kitna will hold up to the pressure Philly brings.

Who do you think would be better, D. Driver or S. Rice? I forgot the game was today and didn’t put Garcon in…

Doh. I think I’d go with Sidney Rice after watching him play last week. He was making plays on the ball and simply taking the ball away from the Bills defenders.

    Deion Branch or Crabtree wr3?

Branch, Crabtree, Driver, Knox, Bennett, Mason? just one for WR3 thanks!

I like Crabtree. Branch is dealing with weather and the Bears tough pass d. Driver has a nice matchup, but most of his damage came on one pass lat week. Kind of risky. Knox and bennett are dealing with that same weather. Mason just has a low ceiling.

I see Nate Burlesson is 25. A. Armstrong much lower down. I havent heard much Burleson talk since a few weeks ago when he was a hot pick up. Doesn’t he have QB issues? I need to decide b/w these two WRs.

Washington could be dealing with weather issues, which would make it tough for me to rely on a deep threat. That said, perhaps Burleson is ranked a too high.
