47. Michael Crabtree @ St. Louis
48. Jabar Gaffney vs.  Houston
49. Danny Amendola vs. San Francisco
50. Jacoby Jones

Inside the numbers:

  • One game was enough to convert me on Vincent Jackson. He’s a beast. Rivers is money. The Bengals are awful. Perfect recipe for another monster game.
  • Andre Johnson gets a slight downgrade this week because of Champ Bailey, but he’s still a top flight WR1 option this week.
  • I’m expecting Aaron Rodgers to play this week, which makes Greg Jennings a WR1 again.
  • Despite their woes on offense, Larry Fitzgerald has become very active. He gets a bump in PPR leagues, but is a high-end WR2 this week against Dallas.
  • I doubt Rex and Santana Moss repeat last week’s performance, but Moss looks like a must start this week.
  • Stevie Johnson got his mojo back, and should have a strong performance against the Patriots.
  • I don’t expect the Patriots to go full tilt on offense, which is why I’m downgrading Welker and Branch.
  • With Austin Collie likely out, Blair White should be a fantasy option once again.
  • I’ve really soured on Ochocinco and Michael Crabtree. Play them at your own peril.
  • ***Update*** Mike Sims-Walker will be limited if he plays at all. He’s too risky of a play.
  • ***Update*** Andre Johnson is likely to miss this week. Kevin Walter gets bumped up a few notches and Jacoby Jones makes a sleeper play.

it’s early, but Vick, Rice, Blount, Roddy, VJax, Wallace, maybe grab a new kicker after carpenter’s woes, and a new defense

Seige, I’m more or less thinking you just wanted to show off your team. :)

It’s easily Vick at QB, and Rowdy Roddy, Wallace, and VJax at the WR spots. Assuming this is a standard league (non-PPR), I would go with Rice and Blount at RB. (Hillis has been mostly unimpressive over the last 3 weeks.) For DEF, personally I would see if Dallas is available and drop Atlanta.

Kickers are kickers (and some say who cares), but Carpenter is possibly a little down on himself, a la Nick Folk (2009) or Garrett Hartley (early 2010). I might look at Buehler (DAL) or Suisham (PIT) … both have great matchups and have been pretty accurate in December.

I am in the finals next week and I have four great receivers, but not sure who is going to sit (3 wideouts play) Vincent Jackson@ cinci, Hakeem Nicks@ greenbay, Calvin Johnson@ miami, and Andre Johnson@denver. I am also struggling with my tightends, I have to chose ONE. Kevin Boss@ greenbay, Kellen Winslow v seatle, Benjamin Watson v baltimore , or Jimmy Graham@ atlanta?

good problem to have bigtyme – calvin johnson is my odd man out, but any of those are sound choices. at TE I like boss. he’s on a roll.

xedreus – i like kitna. i personally like reggie and wallace over lloyd, but i can see your logic
    brian – not too shabby.

Looks like Marshall, Jennings, and Fitzgerald are the locks to start this weekend. Funny, because after a season of question marks at the WR position, I finally feel comfortable with my original top 3. The guy I’m playing has Colston, Bowe, and Megatron, so I’m more-or-less just hoping my guys can cover his. Just for fun:

    My starters (and his starters):

    QB – Vick (Rodgers)
    RB – C. Johnson (McCoy)
RB – Jones-Drew (Forte or Hillis)
    WR – Marshall (Bowe)
    WR – Jennings (Megatron)
    WR – Fitzgerald (Colston)
    TE – Celek (Witten)
    K – Suisham (Bryant)
    DEF – New England (NYG)

    QB – Advantage you
    RB1 – you
    RB 2 – you
    WR 1 – you
    WR 2- him
    wr 3 – him
    te – him
    k – anybody’s guess
    D – you

    overall – you

I’m favored by about 15 points (recall that it’s PPR too) … I think it will be very close, probably ending with Matt Bryant kicking the game-winning FG to put him over the top :)

I’m thinking I bench…Austin? What do you think?

All good choices Lone. I like Austin over Wallace, but both are good choices.

    December 21st, 2010 at 6:20 pm #

Need to Pick 3WR and 2 RB and 1 Flex. I’ve made it to the championship so here is what I am thinking.

    QB: P.Manning
    RB: S. Jackson
    RB: R. Torain
    WR: V. Jackson
    WR: Miles Austin
    WR: Kenny Britt
    TE: J. Tamme
Flex: Joe Webb (Trying to get some sneaky points)
    K: N. Kaeding
    Def: Steelers

  19. TD54
    December 21st, 2010 at 6:24 pm #

Sorry, forgot to include my bench. Feel free to move around my lineup.

Peyton Hillis (Ravens will stack the box??)
Welker (good pass def in buffalo)
    Sidney Rice (QB issues)
    Mike Williams (sea)

  20. LestersLegends
    December 21st, 2010 at 7:38 pm #

TD54 – I have Hillis slightly above SJax, but I understand your reasoning, totally with you at WR.

  21. Confused
    December 21st, 2010 at 9:16 pm #

Here are my choices at WR in ppr league. I can start 3.
Also have option for J. Webb as WR, who would get 6 points for throwing TD.

    M. Austin
    D. Bowe
    B. Marshall
    W. Welker
    J Webb

  22. Confused
    December 21st, 2010 at 9:21 pm #

Need help at WR in PPR league. Can only pick 3. Can also play J. Webb at WR, who would get 6 points for Td pass and 1 point for 25 yards passing.

    B. Marshall
    D. Bowe
    M. Austin
    W. Welker
    J. Webb

  23. kevin coombs
    December 21st, 2010 at 9:29 pm #

I can use Joe Webb as a reciever. I did last week and he got me 24pts. I have vjax, desaun Jackson and Hakim nicks as recievers. its a ppr league. I was thinking of starting vjax, d jackson, and joe webb. what do you think of that.

  24. kevin coombs
    December 21st, 2010 at 9:37 pm #

I should also tell you we start 3 recievers. and q.bs score high we get .5pts per completion. 1pt per 25yards passing, 1pt per 10 yards rushing, 1pt per running carry, 6pts per t.d. I have mike vick as my starting q.b. so being able to start webb as a reciever would be really helpfull. Unless you think he is going to get killed by eagles d. thanks, your advice is going to really help me to decide.

  25. LestersLegends
    December 21st, 2010 at 10:25 pm #

confused – ppr i think i’d play it safe and go austin, marshall, and welker. i can see gambling on webb, but not with those options.
kevin – i would have a hard time benching any of those three wrs for webb. other than his run, he looked pretty inept out there. I haven’t played in a scoring format like that though. if his 15 completion, 129 yard, 2 INT, 38 rushing yard, TD game is better than say a six catch, 80 yard performance, I would almost think he could top those numbers this week. It is a pretty big risk though. Heck, Favre could play again…or Patrick Ramsey. Those are my 1,3, and 4 WRs for the week though.

Your advice last week landed me in the Championship game! I have Mike Wallace, Andre Johnson, Vincent Jackson, and Larry Fitzgerald. I think Johnson and Jackson are a safe bet but it’s a really tough choice between Fitz and Wallace. For RB’s its between Blount, R.Brown, T.Jones, and Tolbert. As always, thanks for the help.

  27. LestersLegends
    December 22nd, 2010 at 6:31 am #

That is a tough choice Noah. Both are very good, with Fitz coming around. PPR I prefer Fitz. Standard Wallace, but only by a hair. At RB Blount is my first choice followed by Tolbert.

  28. JW
    December 22nd, 2010 at 9:20 am #

Great advice Lester, PPR league, right now at RB (2 spots) I have Turner, C Johnson….at WR (2 spots) I have Andre Johnson, Greg Jennings, and at Flex I have Nicks….would you plug in Big Mike Williams at either the WR or Flex spot and for who? I think i’m sticking with my guns but got a great feeling BMW is going off

    December 22nd, 2010 at 9:43 am #

So I’ve made it to the finals. Won last year trying to win it again this year. Could you review my line up and let me know if I should move anyone around. I look and research so much my eyes start to cross. I have that Joe Webb issue too. Sneaky points maybe. Also, Moreno (who may be injured), Blount or Torain. Maybe even Westbrook.

    QB Michael Vick
    WR DeSean Jackson
    WR Kenny Britt
    RB Ray Rice
    RB Steven Jackson
    TE Aaron Hernandez
    FLEX LeGarrette Blount
    K David Buehler
    DEF San Diego
    BN Miles Austin
    BN Knowshon Moreno
    BN Ryan Torain
    BN Jay Cutler
    BN Brian Westbrook
    BN Joe Webb

I’m in my championship game and I need help on my WR. I had TO for this slot all season, but now its decision time. Here’s my current lineup:

    QB – P. Rivers
    RB – A. Foster
    RB – M. Turner
    WR – D. Jackson
    WR – K. Britt
    TE – J. Witten
    Flex – S. Jackson
    K – J. Scobee
    DEF – Steelers

    J. Webb (QB, WR)
    J. Knox (WR)
    J. Ford (WR)

I’m almost inclined to start Webb against Philly, rather than Britt. Any thoughts??

  33. LestersLegends
    December 22nd, 2010 at 12:05 pm #

I like britt in that spot. Webb is such a wildcard. going against an aggressive eagles team could be tough. I could see Ramsey make an appearance. Plus, you never know if old #4 will show up.

  34. Gkue
    December 22nd, 2010 at 12:07 pm #

My line up in standard league
    Calvin J (starting for sure)
B Lloyd (leaning to starting) don’t want to trust Tim Tebow’s arm
    Malcom floyd ?
    Garcon ?
    Kenny Britt ?

    foster (starting)
    cj2k (starting)
jamal charles (hate that he splits and my not get goal line work)
hillis (no passing threat, team keeing in on him)
ryan torain (really like, very sneaking, jags def is suspect and much better passing game. May just play him)

  35. LestersLegends
    December 22nd, 2010 at 12:11 pm #

    i’d go
    qb – vick
    rb 1 – foster
    rb 2 – cj
    wr 1 – calvin
    wr 2 – britt
    wr 3 – garcon
    flex – charles

if you only have two wr slots, i like charles over garcon for the flex. you have great options though so I can see why it’s a difficult decision.

  36. Gkue
    December 22nd, 2010 at 12:52 pm #

yeah, 2 wr and 2 rbs and a flex, thats pretty much what I was thinking. I see your pretty high on Britt. Your higher on Britt than most though.
I see nobody wants to bank on tim tebows arm even though he is going against the worst defense in the league.

  37. LestersLegends
    December 22nd, 2010 at 1:17 pm #

just can’t trust tebow in the biggest game of the year.

  38. J King
    December 22nd, 2010 at 4:16 pm #

Ok. Made it to the fantasy bowl. Just made a couple of pickups and drops. Here’s where I stand. Dude I’m playing has a monster squad. I’m a 26pt underdog. That being said…

    QB – Brady (Tebow)
    RB – C.J, Hillis (Bradshaw,Moreno)
    FLEx – Bradshaw (Austin,Bouldin)
    WR – V.Jax, Marshall (Austin,Bouldin)
    TE – Tamme (Boss)
DST – Eagles (Chargers, Jets) just dropped CHI
    K – Bryant (ARI)

  39. J King
    December 22nd, 2010 at 4:20 pm #

Oh..forgot to ask my question…whatcha think?…in particular about Austin instead of Bradshaw in flex in a non-PPR?

  40. LestersLegends
    December 22nd, 2010 at 5:16 pm #

J King – I think I like Austin over Bradshaw in the flex, but it’s real close.

    December 22nd, 2010 at 7:45 pm #

Last week I went with Boldin over Lloyd and it didnt work out too well…should I do it again for the championship…my only other option is meachem…

  42. LestersLegends
    December 22nd, 2010 at 8:12 pm #

i still like Boldin, but understand your hesitation. i just trust flacco more than tebow

    December 22nd, 2010 at 9:18 pm #

I AM in the Championship Game and i would like to no who u guys think i should start this week at WR i got alot of people who i can start….i was goin to start?…….and who do u guys think at TE i should start?

    December 22nd, 2010 at 9:27 pm #

i like boss as your te. at wr i’m more of a britt fan right now because of tebow and think he’s more likely to get in the endzone.

Only two decisions I’m not 100% confident in.

    Adam Vinatieri @ Oakland
    Josh Brown vs. San Francisco

  50. LestersLegends

Those are close. I have wallace 15 and williams at 17. very close. I prefer wallace, but if your gut says williams, i can’t argue with that. Kickers are such a wildcard, but Brown has been pretty hot of late.

championship game and i am having a tough time choosing who to play.
    rb-s-jax, ahmad bradshaw, green-ellis
wr-Jennings, nicks, mike williams(tb), fitz, bennet, and obo
I can start 2 at rb and wr and 1 flex. Right now im playing all 3 rbs and jennings and nicks at receiver, but i feel fitz and williams can break out. Im not sure who to play at the flex. And should I pick up jimmy graham over daniels. I would just like to know what your lineup would be in my situation.

I was planning on playing andre johnson over fitzgerald but now that his ankle is worse, should I play it safe and start fitzgerald? If I do theres no playing johnson later because my final wr slot is going to vincent jackson, and wallace already had a great game for me. Thanks again!

    December 25th, 2010 at 12:13 am #

So I’m in a standard league with a flex option. How does this lineup look??

    QB: Matt Schaub
RB: Legarrette Blount, Rashad Jennings (now that mojo is out)
    WR: VJax, DJax, R. Wayne
    TE: Jason Witten
    K: Buehler
    Def: San Diego
Flex:?? (Hakeem Nicks, Ahmad Bradshaw or Ryan Torain)

Im leaning towards playing Nicks as my Flex even though I usually play a RB. Also I have Garrard on my bench, should I play him if Andre Johnson is a no go or should I still roll with Schaub since he’s hot??

I really need to win this one Please help!!

  61. Ed
    December 25th, 2010 at 9:29 am #

Hey, made it to the finals with these guys but now that Rashad Jennings looks likely to play in a tempting matchup, would you put him in for any of these guys as my Flex, or just stay put? PPR league

    Tolbert @ Bengals
    Bradshaw @ Packers
Nicks @ Packers (tough pass D)
    M. Williams vs. Seahawks

    Thanks for your help.
