Here are my Week 9 fantasy football running back rankings. Remember the Broncos, Jaguars, Niners, Rams, Redskins, and Titans are on bye.

.

1. Roddy White vs. Tampa Bay

3. Reggie Wayne @ Philadelphia
4. Calvin Johnson vs. New York Jets
5. Hakeem Nicks @ Seattle
6. Greg Jennings vs. Dallas
7. Larry Fitzgerald vs. Minnesota
8. Marques Colston @ Carolina
9. Dwayne Bowe @ Oakland
10. Anquan Boldin vs. Miami
11. Terrell Owens vs. Pittsburgh
12. Miles Austin @ Green Bay
13. Brandon Marshall @ Baltimore
14. Percy Harvin @ Arizona
15. Mike Wallace @ Cincinnati
16. Jeremy Maclin vs. Indianapolis
17. Steve Smith (CAR) vs. New Orleans
18. Mike Williams (SEA) vs. New York Giants
19. Hines Ward @ Cincinnati
20. Lance Moore @ Carolina

32. Deion Branch @ Cleveland
33. Lee Evans vs. Chicago
34. Santonio Holmes @ Detroit
35. Patrick Crayton @ Houston
36. Roy Williams @ Green Bay
37. Kevin Walter @ San Diego
38. Robert Meachem @ Carolina
39. Mario Manningham @ Seattle
40. Jerricho Cotchery @ Detroit
.
.

Inside the numbers:

  • Hakeem Nicks (#5) has three 100+ yard games and two multiple TD games in his last four games.
  • Greg Jennings (#6) is averaging 96 yards with two TDs in his last three games.
  • I couldn’t quite give up on Larry Fitzgerald (#7) as much as some people did. I was rewarded with a two TD performance against Tampa Bay. He should have another solid week against Minnesota’s depleted secondary.
  • Marques Colston has 16 catches for 187 yards and two TDs in the past two weeks. With all of the injuries in the Saints’ backfield, look for Colston, Lance Moore (#21), and Robert Meachem (#39) to be very active against Carolina.
  • DeSean Jackson likely won’t play this week, making Jeremy Maclin (#16) a borderline WR1.
  • I finally lost hope in Wes Welker (#27) despite a favorable match-up.

Well I have to go to the FA list to pick up a WR this week since my whole squad is hurt or on byes.

Kevin Walker is your highest ranked that is still available in my league.

Have any sleepers, I dont want Walter? I was thinking Jordan Shipley since the Bengals wont be able to run on the Steelers and Troy will be helping out with Ocho and TO. Should I dump Britt, theyarent saying good things about his hammy.

hard to know who is available Drew. anthony gonzalez is a short term option. james jones could step it up with driver hurt.

So I’m really thinking Crayton’s gonna have an awesome weekend considering all the SD injuries and his matchup.

But if I wanted to grab him I’d have to drop either Welker or Knox, what do you think?

my WR’s are Roddy White, Steve Smith (car) and Knox, Welker and Santana Moss.

Crayton is a short-term fix. I think I’d just hang onto your guys. If you had an extra TE or DEF maybe I’d drop them, but otherwise I’d just use you Knox, Smith, and Roddy.

I’m in PPR and can start 3 of the following WR’s I have on my roster: Bess, Crayton, Maclin, Fitzgerald, M. Williams (TB). I’m leaning towards M. Williams, Fitzgerald and Crayton, but wondering if Maclin should replace one of these instead. What startup do you recommend?

I would go with Fitz, Williams, and Maclin. I think the Colts-Eagles game will be a shootout. If your gut says Crayton, I wouldn’t argue against it. He does have a real good matchup .
