2011 Fantasy Football Start/Sit Week 1

Sep 6, 2011

.
Here’s a look at LestersLegends sit and start advice as you set your lineups for the opening week of the NFL season.
.
Quarterbacks
Start:
Kevin Kolb vs. Carolina:  The Larry Fitzgerald and Kolb connection gets a good match-up to get off on the right foot. Kolb will be looking for redemption.
.
Sit:
Sam Bradford vs. Philadelphia:  Tough first draw as Bradford has no game film to prepare for how Philly will use their three shutdown corners. Joe Flacco and Tony Romo also get downgraded this week.
.
Running Backs
Start:
DeAngelo Williams @ Arizona:  I know he’s in a timeshare with J-Stew, but D-Will got PAID. He’s going to lead the team in carries. The Panthers will look to take the pressure of Cam Newton in his professional debut.
.
Sit:
Ryan Grant vs. New Orleans:  Grant hasn’t done enough to avoid a RBBC with James Starks.
.
Wide Receivers
Start:
Mike Thomas vs. Tennessee:  Thomas caught 12 passes against Tennessee last year and should be quite active in this one as well.
.
Sit:
Jeremy Maclin @ St. Louis:  Considering how much time he missed that’s a gamble I wouldn’t take in the opening week.
.
Tight Ends
Start:
Brent Celek @ St. Louis:  Vick has said he needs to get Celek more involved this year, and with Maclin less than 100 percent it is a good time to use Celek to move the chains.
.
Sit:
Tony Gonzalez @ Chicago:  Last year Gonzo regressed and I’m afraid it’s only going to get worse.
.
Kickers
Start:
Rob Bironas @ Jacksonville:  Bironas kicked five field goals and three extra points in his two meetings with Jacksonville last year.
.
Sit:
Dan Carpenter, Miami Dolphins:  Carpenter failed to kick a FG against New England in two years. He had just three PATs as well.
.
Defenses
Start:
San Francisco vs. Seattle Seahawks:  The Seahawks are sticking with Tarvaris Jackson despite his horrible play. The Niners should feast on him.
.
Sit:
Green Bay Packers vs. New Orleans Saints:  I love the Packers defense, but starting off against the Saints with weeks to prepare is a tough draw.
