2011 Fantasy Football Start/Sit Week 15

Dec 16, 2011

.
Here’s a look at LestersLegends sit and start advice as you set your lineups for the 15th week of the NFL season.
.
Quarterbacks
Start:
Tim Tebow vs. New England:  Tebow took a step forward as a passer against the Vikings in Week 13. He attempted 40 passes last week as he led Denver to yet another comeback victory. He continues to put up solid fantasy numbers, both because of his running ability and the fact that he doesn’t turn the ball over (two interceptions, three fumbles). The Patriots have the league’s worst pass defense and even let Dan Orvlosky throw for 353 yards and two scores.
.
Sit:
Joe Flacco @ San Diego:  Flacco is averaging 214.2 yards over his past five games with six touchdowns and three picks. His ceiling is too low for the fantasy playoffs. The Chargers are playing better of late, allowing three passing TDs in their past three games.
.
Running Backs
Start:
Felix Jones @ Tampa Bay:  Kudos to you if you held on to Felix Jones or snatched him up when DeMarco Murray went down. He gets another crack at lead back against a team giving up 139.7 rushing ypg (29th) and a league high 19 rushing scores. He should be able to build upon the 137 total yard effort he put forth on Sunday Night Football.
.
Sit:
Jonathan Stewart @ Houston:  After three solid weeks averaging 96.7 total yards, J-Stew finished with 56 total yards last week against Atlanta. He faces the league’s fourth-ranked run defense (91.5 ypg). The Texans are one of seven teams that has allowed six or fewer rushing scores.
.
Wide Receivers
Start:
Santana Moss @ New York Giants: Moss caught three passes for 81 yards and a touchdown, giving him an average of four catches per game since his return. The Giants rank 29th with 263.7 passing ypg allowed. He caught six passes against them in Week 1 for 76 yards and has a career average against the G-Men of 67.2 yards with eight scores in 14 games.
.
Sit:
Jeremy Maclin vs. New York Jets: Maclin is clearly not 100%, and the fact that he’s facing the Jets who are giving up just 200.8 passing yards per game does not help matters. If his hamstring tightens up again, he could spend a lot of time on the sidelines.
.
Tight Ends
Start:
Jake Ballard vs. Washington:  The Giants have a ton of weapons at Eli’s disposal, but Ballard scored last week and the Redskins have struggled against Tight Ends this year. According to Yahoo! they have given up the second most fantasy points to TEs.
.
Sit:
Greg Olsen @ Houston:  Olsen scored last week, but averaged 28.3 yards in his four prior games. Houston is allowing just 183.5 passing ypg and they rank 30th in fantasy points allowed by TEs (according to Yahoo!).
.
Defenses
Start:
Tennessee @ Indianapolis:  The Colts rank 31st with just 283.4 total yards per game and 29th with 14.2 ppg. They are middle of the road with 29 sacks allowed, but are tied for eighth with 24 turnovers. The Titans are middle of the road in takeaways, but rank sixth in points allowed at 19.3 ppg.
.
Sit:
San Diego vs. Baltimore:  The Chargers are coming on, but aren’t a strong play against the Ravens, who rank ninth in the league at 24.6 ppg. They have only allowed 24 sacks (tied for eighth best) and the Chargers rank 29th with just 22 sacks.

Hey, could you guys help me with my starting lineup dilemma?

I’ve got to fill the following slots in a PPR league:
    QB –
WR – Roddy White (35 pts)
    WR -
    WR -
    RB – LeSean McCoy
    RB – Reggie Bush
    OP -

    My options are:
    Rex Grossman, Carson Palmer
Antonio Brown, Laurent Robinson, Santana Moss, Jabar Gaffney
CJ Spiller, Ryan Grant (RB are worth less, they need 15 rush yards for 1 pt, vs the standard 10, plus its PPR)
