2011 Fantasy Football WR Rankings – Week 9

.
Here’s the LestersLegends’ Week 9 2011 fantasy football wide receiver rankings.
.
1. Greg Jennings @ San Diego: He’s a threat to score every week plus he’s averaging nearly 100 yards per game.
2. Mike Wallace vs. Baltimore: 107 yards the last time they squared off. Wallace is averaging 100 yards per game.
3. Wes Welker vs. New York Giants: There figures to be a lot of Welker and the TEs to slow the Giants’ pass rush.
4. Jeremy Maclin vs. Chicago: The Bears are giving up 271.9 passing yards per game.
5. Larry Fitzgerald vs. St. Louis: Averaging 86.1 ypg. The Rams have allowed 14 passing TDs.
6. Dwayne Bowe vs. Miami: Dolphins are giving up 270.7 passing ypg.
7. DeSean Jackson vs. Chicago: The Bears have issues at safety, which the big play Jackson should expose.
8. Dez Bryant vs. Seattle: He hasn’t done what he’s capable of, but the potential for a huge game looms.
9. Marques Coltson vs. Tampa Bay: Averaging 83.8 yards with four touchdowns in his past four games.
10. Vincent Jackson vs. Green Bay: Packers are giving up 288.9 passing ypg.
11. Roddy White @ Indianapolis: Chance for Roddy to get back on track vs. Colts team that has allowed 15 passing TDs.
12. Miles Austin vs. Seattle: I just get the feeling the Cowboys’ passing game is going to break out in a big way this week.
13. Mario Manningham @ New England: Nice play with Hakeem Nicks out and facing the league’s worst pass defense.
14. Brandon Lloyd @ Arizona: It doesn’t seem to matter who his quarterback is. Lloyd will produce.
15. Victor Cruz @ New England: Nice play with Hakeem Nicks out and facing the league’s worst pass defense.
16. A.J. Green @ Tennessee: The Bengals offense is not potent, but Green seems to get his. He’s averaging 80.5 yards with three TDs in his past four games.
17. Anquan Boldin @ Pittsburgh: Averaging 105.7 yards since Baltimore’s bye.
18. Santonio Holmes @ Buffalo: The Bills are giving up 265.9 passing ypg.
19. Pierre Garcon vs. Atlanta: Garcon continues to be Painter’s top WR target. Falcons giving up 265.6 passing ypg.
20. Jordy Nelson @ San Diego: Always a threat because of his quickness, but the Packers do spread it around so he’s a little risky.
21. Stevie Johnson vs. New York Jets: Not so comfy visit to Revis Island.
22. Brandon Marshall @ Kansas City: Averaging 76.9 yards per game.
23. Antonio Brown vs. Baltimore: Ravens are tough against the pass, but the Steelers are averaging 287.8 passing ypg.
24. Lance Moore vs. Tampa Bay: Anyone not Colton or Jimmy Graham are risky for the Saints, but Moore should get you at least 50 yards with a chance to score.
25. Deion Branch vs. New York Giants: Averaging 59.7 yards with two TDs in his past three games.
26. Reggie Wayne vs. Atlanta: Frustrating season continues. Getting some looks but only has one TD this year.
27. Sidney Rice @ Dallas: Decent WR3 during bye week now that T-Jack is back.
28. Julio Jones @ Indianapolis: Colts are giving up 258.9 ypg. If he’s healthy he should be a solid WR3.
29. Darrius Heyward-Bey vs. Denver: Averaging 96.3 yards in his past four games but has to deal with questionable QB play and Champ Bailey.
30. Michael Crabtree @ Washington: Forever linked with DHB, he’s starting to improve as well.
31. Jabar Gaffney vs. San Francisco: Number one WR option though given Washington’s play of late it doesn’t mean much.
32. Mike Williams (TB) @ New Orleans: Will the offense be more potent coming out of the bye?
33. Nate Washington vs. Cincinnati: Bengals have only allowed six passing touchdowns.
34. James Jones @ San Diego: Risky option, but big play potential is there.
35. Eric Decker @ Oakland: Tebow makes him a risky play, but they’ll likely be playing from behind. Decker makes plays.
36. Jonathan Baldwin vs. Miami: Made a splash on MNF and could emerge as the complement to Bowe that many
expected.
37. Torry Smith @ Pittsburgh: Averaging 57.7 yards the past three weeks with potential for a deep ball.
38. Early Doucet vs. St. Louis: Averaging 47.3 yards with two TDs in the past three games.
39. Steve Breaston vs. Miami: Kansas City’s offense has been improving of late. Averaging 60.4 yards in his past five games.
40. Doug Baldwin @ Dallas Cowboys: Rebounded with five catches for 73 yards last week after not catching a pass in Week 7.

I’d go with Bowe, Antonio Brown, and Lance Moore. Saints WRs are tricky though so if you didn’t want to gamble I’d go with DHB over Moore.

Pick one WR to start.
Garcon
M. Floyd
Or Joe Baldwin.

I like Garcon. The Colts are going to be down and throwing a lot. Garcon is Painter’s favorite target.

Pick 3 WR to start:
Roddy White
Dwayne Bowe
Mike Wallace
Brandon Lloyd

Nice group of WRs. As you can see I have Wallace, Bowe, and Roddy in my top 12 so they are the ones I prefer. They have the better quarterback play than Lloyd gets. I still like Lloyd (#14) so if your gut is saying play him, I can’t see a good reason why not to. The must start of the group is Wallace. The other three are very close.

Flex position, PPR league, who to start
Cruz (I have Nicks too and if Nicks is out, he gets a definite nod), Benson, Gaffney, or J. Baldwin
Thanks!

Standard league need to pick 2 to start. I’m torn…
Manningham
Cruz
Welker
Lloyd

I’d say you need to pick one. Welker is a must start.
I like all your other options as well. If Nicks doesn’t play I like Manningham but if he does I’d probably go Lloyd.

Lester, I need your advice. I have Jhavid Best and Maurice Morris on my roster, and I’m holding out for Jhavid to return. However, I also have Arian Foster and Derren McFadden on my team, and just picked up Ringer off waivers, so I have some good RB’s (when healthy) My receivers are currently Eric Decker, Heyward-Bey, Miles Austin, and Antonio Brown. I just got a offered Larry Fitzgerald for Antonio Brown and Maurice Morris….. thoughts on the trade offer?

would you trade Cruz and Benson/or Battle for Marshall?
or McFadden, Cruz, Benson/Battle for Marshall and S Jackson
Thanks!

last one, would you trade McFadden, Benson/or Battle for Dez and Antonio Brown!

I’d take it. That solidifies your WR situation and Mo Mo isn’t an attractive option even if Best doesn’t return soon.

I wouldn’t make any of those deals jw.

Lester,
I have Nicks and A. Johnson, and Mike Williams (TB). It looks like a may need a second back up if Nicks and A.J. can’t play. Who would you choose out of the following (It’s a PPR League and I need a solid 8 to 10 points out of this position):
Lance Moore, J. Baldwin, Malcom Floyd, Early Doucet
Looking back on the numbers, Doucet is surprisingly the most consistent. Your thoughts?
LestersLegends

Baldwin has the most upside if you’re a gambler. Doucet is the steadiest so if you’re just looking for a safe score he’s probably the option.

Need some advice Lester. Who is better flex play this week – Jackie battle, Santonio holmes, or Vernon Davis?
My starters at these positions are:
RB- Aarian Foster, Mike Tolbert
WR- AJ Green, Hakkem Nicks
TE- Fred Davis
Also have Ingram as RB but concerned about his injury status.
Thanks!

Is there a chance that Mathews might not play this week? If so, should I start Sproles, Battle, or Jonathan Baldwin at flex? I also have the option to pick up Burress, Heyward-Bey or Denarius Moore. Thanks for your advice!

Budd – I’d go with Sproles.

I have trade offer to me Big Ben for Mike Williams (TB) and Steven Jackson(STL). I have Freeman and Hasslebeck as QBs and wanted to upgrade. For RBs I have Fred Jackson, McCoy,Steven Jackson(STL) and Bradshaw. WRs I have Bolden, VJ(SD), Mike Williams(TB),and Dez Bryant(DAL). We can only play 2 WRs. Do you think this is a good trade?
LestersLegends
November 4th, 2011 at 11:14 am #
I think so. You’re selling high on SJax and you prob weren’t going to use him anyway. Prob weren’t going to use Williams much either.

Since Nicks is hurting, would you recommend replacing him with Cruz? My three starting WRs have been Welker, Nicks, and AJ Green with Cruz, Heyward-Bey, and D Branch on the bench. Thanks!

Yes, I like Cruz.

Would you trade Nicks and Battle for AJ Green and C Johnson? I have Eli as my QB and would like to diversify going into the playoffs. Battle or Johnson would be my back up RB.
LestersLegends
November 7th, 2011 at 3:54 pm #
If CJ is your backup RB then you would in essence be weakening your starting lineup by replacing Nicks with Green. Nicks does have his injury concerns though. Plus you are upgrading your RB situation. I do like Green’s 15 & 16 match-ups. Nicks has a date on Revis Island in Week 16. I can see making that deal.
