2012 Get ‘em or Don’t Sweat ‘em – Week 16

Dec 17, 2012

.
There were some unusual heroes this week. There always are. Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.
.
Sam Bradford, QB, St. Louis Rams
Bradford threw for 377 yards and three touchdowns. The Rams play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week so Bradford is a decent option if you are in need at quarterback.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
Kirk Cousins, QB, Washington Redskins
Cousins filled in admirably for Robert Griffin III against the Cleveland Browns, throwing for 329 yards and two touchdowns. He even ran for 22 yards. RG3 should be back next week so Cousins’ usefulness is short-lived.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Russell Wilson, QB, Seattle Seahawks
RG3 didn’t play today, but it sure looked liked he did in Toronto. Wilson threw for 205 yards and a touchdown. He really did damage with his feet though. Russell ran for 92 yards and three touchdowns. Next week he faces the San Francisco so temper your expectations.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
Curtis Brinkley, RB, San Diego Chargers
Brinkley ran for 42 yards and had 14 receiving yards. If Ryan Mathews and Ronnie Brown are out, Brinkley is worth considering.
Ruling:  Wait and see.
.
Mike Tolbert, RB, Carolina Panthers
Tolbert ran for 40 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also had 24 yards receiving. He doesn’t typically get enough use for fantasy teams.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Brandon Gibson, WR, St. Louis Rams
Gibson caught six of his eight targets for 76 yards. He had 100 yards and a touchdown the previous week. With the Bucs on tap, he’s worth considering.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
Leonard Hankerson, WR, Washington Redskins
Hankerson caught two of his three targets for 56 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He’s not a reliable fantasy option next week against the Philadelphia Eagles as RG3 spreads the ball around so much.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Joe Morgan, WR, New Orleans Saints
Morgan caught two of three targets for 61 yards and a touchdown. There are too many other mouths to feed in New Orleans.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Dwayne Allen, TE, Indianapolis Colts
Allen caught all three of his targets for 36 yards and a touchdown. He is not getting enough looks to be a viable fantasy option in your league’s championship.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Anthony Fasano, TE, Miami Dolphins
Fasano caught six of seven targets for 56 yards and a touchdown. It was his second straight game with a score. I’d still look elsewhere.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Lance Kendricks, TE, St. Louis Rams
Kendricks caught three of his five targets for 35 yards and a touchdown. There are better tight end options out there.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Zach Miller, TE, Seattle Seahawks
Miller caught all three of his targets for 26 yards and a touchdown. Even though it’s the second straight game he’s scored, I’d look elsewhere.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
