2012 Get ‘em or Don’t Sweat ‘em – Week 6

Oct 8, 2012

.
There were some unusual heroes on Sunday. There always are. Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.
.
Armando Allen, RB, Chicago Bears
Allen busted a 46-yard touchdown run to finish with five catches for 59 yards. It was in mop up duty so look elsewhere.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Daniel Thomas, RB, Miami Dolphins
Thomas had ten carries for 29 yards and a touchdown. He doesn’t get enough attempts to be a solid fantasy option. With bye weeks upon us and favorable match-ups ahead, Thomas could have some flex value.
Ruling: Get ‘em.
.
Randall Cobb, WR, Green Bay Packers
Cobb caught four passes on four targets for 82 yards and a score. With Greg Jennings banged up, he has value.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
Josh Gordon and Jordan Norwood, WRs, Cleveland Browns
Gordon made the most of his two catches, though he was targeted eight times, compiling 82 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile Norwood caught all nine of his targets for 81 yards. I’d need to see them do it again before burning a roster spot on either of them.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Rueben Randle, WR, New York Giants
Randle caught six passes for 82 yards.  Nicks and Barden were out in this one. He’d only have use if they missed again.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Golden Tate, WR, Seattle Seahawks
Tate caught his third touchdown in three games. He’s not a good fantasy option though as he has just ten receptions on the year.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Dwayne Allen, TE, Indianapolis Colts
He has actually had three decent games in a row. His four catches for 38 yards and a score isn’t enough to make you consider him for your lineup though.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Joel Dreessen, TE, Denver Broncos
Dreesseen scored for the third straight game. Tamme still gets more looks making Dreessen a less attractive option.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Ryan what do you think abt Alex green in gb, and the arz cardinals rb situation? Are they worth a pickup?? In additional, I hear murmurs that we should start thinking abt adding David Wilson again? Tghts….?.

I think both GB and AZ RB situtations are ugly. Nonetheless, someone should be owned. Alex Green looks to be the guy in GB and I’m not sure if Powell or La’Rod Stephens-Howling will get the first crack in AZ.

My PPR team week 6: Eli, Nate Washington, Maclin, Jerome Simpson, Foster, McGahee, Graham (bye), Sproles (bye), Denarius Moore, Greg Olsen (bye), DHB, Cutler. I can fill everything but TE because both of mine are on bye. I’ll take McGahee out of the flex and put in RB2. Either DHB or Moore in the Flex. Also maybe Moore or DHB in place of Simpson. I can get Tamme, Jared Cook, Dustin Keller, Joel Dreesen, Dwayen Allen (against NYJ), or Brandon Myers. Do I drop Cutler for one of those or someone else? A lot of info here but definetly need your help! With everything you see here how would you manage it?

Simpson is hurting so i’d take him out. I’m not sure what the QB landscape is if you drop Cutler, but I’d probably drop Simpson. He hasn’t shown much yet and you’re more likely to get him back if you want. I’d lean towards Cook for your TE fill-in.

Guys who I own from Tennessee have been killing me. Your really like Cook over Tamme? If you could elaborate that’d be awesome.

It’s a toss-up. I suppose PPR may give Tamme the edge. Cook has had three solid games. Tamme just two. I don’t consider either of them a TE1 so it’s eally just a roll of the dice.

Do you think Brandon Lloyd or James Jones or Vick Ballard is a better flex option?

Hey Lester was just wondering whether you thought it’d be worth me picking up owen daniels (texans) from FA & dropping antonio brown (steelers) ? I know it’s early days, but brown has been shocking so far & daniels is racking up similar yards, but with 2 more TD’s? I’m just wary about dropping a WR for a TE. I have some depth at WR & only have vernon davis as my only te, what’s your thoughts?
