2012 Get ‘em or Don’t Sweat ‘em – Week 9

Oct 29, 2012

.
There were some unusual heroes this week. There always are. Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.
.
Blaine Gabbert, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars
Showed some toughness playing and delivered with 303 yards and a score. Look elsewhere.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Josh Freeman, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Freeman threw three touchdowns passes for the third straight game. He’s averaging 336.7 yards during that stretch. He has some favorable match-ups coming up and is turning into a good QB2 again.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
Donald Brown, RB, Indianapolis Colts
He returned with 80 yards on 14 carries. Ballard still played well. This will likely remain a committee. That said, Brown should be owned.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
Ronnie Brown, RB, San Diego Chargers
Brown caught seven passes on eight targets and ran for 17 yards. It was a solid day, but he’s not a good option.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Clyde Gates, WR, New York Jets
Caught seven of eleven targets for 82 yards. Nice game, but not a guy to grab.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Chris Givens, WR, St. Louis Rams
Did little after his 50-yard TD, but he’s been solid five weeks in a row.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
Michael Jenkins, WR, Minnesota Vikings
Jenkins caught four of nine targets for 78 yards. He doesn’t get enough separation and Ponder is floundering.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Brandon LaFell, WR, Carolina Panthers
Caught three of his four targets for 88 yards. Starting to come around. Good for depth.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
Dexter McCluster, RB/WR, Kansas City Chiefs
McCluster ran twice for 15 yards and caught six of eight targets for 54 yards and a touchdown. He has solid value in PPR leagues but that’s it.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Cecil Shorts III, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
Had eight catches on 12 targets for 116 yards. It was his second straight good game. Last week I said don’t sweat ‘em. He changed my mind by backing up his strong effort.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
Titus Young, WR, Detroit Lions
Young caught all nine of his targets for 100 yards and two touchdowns. With Burleson out for the year, he should be owned.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

    I don’t trust Detroit’s running game. I prefer LeShoure.

If you could only add one WR from the following Lester who would you pick. Cecil Shorts, Santana Moss, Andre Roberts, Jeremy Kerley or Denarius Moore? I am thinking about dropping antonio brown which may be a shock, but he isn’t producing this season at all no matter what the match up is. I have andre roberts in my other team & he is the epitome of a boom/bust option, but I’m not sure if he’s the best out of that bunch.

I’d take D. Moore and it’s not close.

Always good to get some FF advice even if I am leading my league. I love NFL Fantasy Football!

In a 12 man Flex PPR league do you trade:
Trent Richardson, Chris Johnson, Bowe, Greg Jennings for:
LeSean McCoy, Jonathan Stewart, Steve Johnson, and Kevin Walter?
    Thanks
