2012 Fantasy Football QB Rankings – Week 11

Nov 12, 2012

With an exciting tenth week under our belts, here are the LestersLegends 2012 Week 11 fantasy football quarterback rankings.
1. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
Perhaps the most damning thing you can say about the Lions is they allowed Christian Ponder to look like an NFL quarterback. Rodgers, who has 22 touchdown passes in his last six games, should have a field day.
2. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints
Brees has 21 touchdown passes in his last seven games. Look for a strong game against Oakland. The Raiders have allowed 17 passing touchdowns and 255.9 passing yards per game.
3. Tom Brady, New England Patriots
Brady is averaging 298.8 yards with ten touchdown passes in his past four games. I expect a strong showing as he squares off against Andrew Luck.
4. Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos
Peyton is averaging 315.9 yards with 18 touchdowns in his past seven games. The Chargers have allowed 16 passing touchdowns.
5. Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons
Arizona has been a top tier pass defense, but Matty Ice is averaging 309.7 yards with 20 touchdowns in nine games.
6. Robert Griffin III, Washington Redskins
RG3 was slowed by Pittsburgh and Carolina prior to his bye. The extra rest came at a good time. He should be ready to roll against Philly.
7. Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts
Luck didn’t do much with his arm against Jacksonville, but ran a couple of scores in. He will need to throw more against New England. The Patriots have allowed 285.3 passing yards per game and 19 touchdowns.
8. Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions
Stafford is averaging 322 yards over the past three games. Megatron is getting healthy and they should able to move the ball against Green Bay.
9. Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers
Cam had a decent showing against Denver. Tampa Bay has allowed 321.3 passing yards per game.
10. Carson Palmer, Oakland Raiders
Palmer is averaging 302.6 yards per game this season. The Saints have allowed 307.3 yards per game and 19 touchdowns.
11. Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys
Romo made enough plays to knock off the Eagles. Cleveland has allowed 16 passing touchdowns and 247.9 yards per game.
12. Josh Freeman, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Freeman is averaging 293.4 yards with 13 touchdowns in his past five games. Carolina plays the pass well though so Freeman is just a borderline QB1 this week.
13. Nick Foles, Philadelphia Eagles
I’m expecting Vick to miss the game because of his concussion. If that is the case, Foles should be solid against Washington. The Redskins have allowed 301.7 yards per game and 20 passing touchdowns.
14. Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers
Rivers has thrown five touchdown passes in the past two games. Gates has scored in back-to-back weeks and Danario Alexander has emerged as a deep threat. The Chargers will have their work cut out for them against Denver.
15. Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals
The Chiefs are horrible so Dalton probably won’t have to do the heavy lifting. I’m expecting a run-heavy attack, though Dalton should toss multiple touchdown passes.

I typically start Eli. With him on bye I picked up Rivers. I see you have him slightly behind Foles. We don’t know the complete situation but it appears Vick will be out. If it were your PPR team would you drop Rivers for Foles?

Probably stick with the safer Rivers.

I don’t love either D, but I’d rather have Saints of the two.

I’m in a PPR league, should I start Luck or Dalton?

Nico – Close but I think B gets it
Tom – Luck. Notice he’s 7 and Dalton is 15.

    Not a serious difference.

I know you have Brady at 3 & Luck at 7, but with Brady dismal performance last week on throwing when ranked at1,I would have been better off playing Luck, especially when Bush collapsed & Julio went down. I’m dreading this week not knowing who has the edge. Do you think Luck can pull it out or is Brady going to stick to the ground game. Luck is more mobile & their defense looked stronger than NE’s, thoughts?
Thanks as always! Trying to hang on to 1st place!

Good problem to have. Brady has ten TDs in his past four games. He has 300 yards or multiple TDs (counting rushing) in every game. Luck has been remarkable doing the same in all but three games. Luck has 2 Tds, 7 INTs on the road

I know, right? Luck did better number wise on the road than Brady did at home. Indy’s D looked better than NE’s. Who should I go with? I know the computer projects Luck higher, but that means nothing.

Go with your gut. My gut says Brady, but the Pats do have a weaker defense. Of course, Indy’s D isn’t going to look good against NE.

My gut tells me Brady like last week. I just hope I’m not in for another let down. Should I play Bengals over Cowboys D? Steelers didn’t hold up so well in Mon night. Cowboys could be good at home.,

Another close one. I prefer Cincy, but defenses are tough to predict. The cowboys do have a strong case.

I feel like its even but I have to ask, I have palmer and luck, and I can’t decide which one to start. Bey is now questionable w a hamstring tweak but its barely Thursday…

Hi Lester! Would you drop Maclin for D. Moore OAK? Also would you drop one of these te combos M Bennett/Pascoe or Alllen/Fleener for G Olson, S Chandler? Thx Ben

  21. LestersLegends
    November 15th, 2012 at 12:48 pm #

No on Maclin. I’d drop Bennett/Pasco for D. Moore though. Colts combo, Olson, and Chandler are all about the same. Matter of preference I guess.

Eli has been garbage all year (except for the 3 games over 18points), im thinking of dropping him for carson palmer. I also have Dalton as my other qb.

Matt – I can see your frustration. He isn’t nearly as good historically when it is cold out an his second half numbers aren’t as good as his first half numbers. That said, his upcoming games are against GB, Wash, NO, ATL, and Balt. Definitely a favorable schedule. I don’t know what I’d do in your shoes.

Do I trade Marshawn Lynch for Sproles and Shady McCoy

I know Marshawns schedule is brutal but hes been a beast. I’m 5-5 and have lost two in a row my current team is..

12 Team League, No Flex, No PPR, 6 Points per QB TD

    Julio Jones
    Jordy Nelson
    Marshawn Lynch
    Benjarvis Green-Ellis

    Andre Brown
    Randall Cobb
    Brandon Lloyd
    Rashad Jennings

    Today is our trade deadline.

  26. LestersLegends
    November 16th, 2012 at 9:35 am #

I’d do that deal. Lynch and McCoy are very similar. Throw in Sproles that gives you a RB2 option when The Firm has a bad matchup.

Matthew Berry recommends doing this straight up:

    3. Trade Marshawn Lynch to get LeSean McCoy: Lynch currently is outscoring McCoy by almost 30 points (on one more game, but still) and Lynch isn’t playing behind a brutal offensive line or with a backup quarterback. But Lynch faces Miami, Chicago, Arizona and San Francisco in four of the five games out of the bye this week. There is a nice matchup with Buffalo in there and Lynch is pretty much matchup-proof anyways, so this is close, but with Nick Foles at quarterback I believe the Eagles will rely on the run a bit more and there will be a regression to correct the lack of touchdowns. I feel McCoy finishes strong.

    Hi Lester!
Here’s my team and I am curious who would you put in to start for this week. Obvious start Matt Ryan, but here where it get tricky RB J Charles, R Mendenhall, D Sproles. L Mccoy. WR J maclin, B Marshall. E Decker, W Welker, P Garcon. Defense Greenbay, Chicago. Kickers L tymes, R Gould. This what I was going to do for my line up. M Rayan, L Mccoy, J Charles, B Marshall, W Welker. E Decker, Chcago def and R gould.
