2012 Fantasy Football RB Rankings – Week 6

.
With an exciting fifth week under our belts, here are the LestersLegends 2012 Week 6 fantasy football running back rankings.
.
1. Arian Foster, Houston Texans
The Packers have allowed 114.2 yards per game. The league’s best fantasy back will help inflate that number.
.
2. Ray Rice, Baltimore Ravens
The Cowboys are giving up 108.0 yards per game. Rice is averaging 121.8 total yards per game.
.
3. Trent Richardson, Cleveland Browns
T-Rich is averaging 107.0 total yards over the past four games with five total TDs. Cincinnati has allowed 118.2 ypg and seven rushing scores.
.
4. Jamaal Charles, Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs are prepared to run Charles into the ground as he has had 30 carries in two of the past three games. He has 560 total yards in his past three games. Tampa Bay is giving up just 73.8 ypg, but Charles is electric and can score at any time.
.
5. Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings
Washington has been fairly tough on the run (87.8 ypg), but it’s mainly because they are so brutal against the pass. Plus, they haven’t faced a back like All Day yet.
.
6. LeSean McCoy, Philadelphia Eagles
Shady is averaging 104.6 total yards per game. He should get loose against the Lions, who are giving up 102.8 ypg.
.
7. Ryan Mathews, San Diego Chargers
Mathews finally got to carry the load and he looked explosive. Denver is allowing 120.2 ypg.
.
8. Darren McFadden, Oakland Raiders
Run DMC has two duds in his past three games and has been held below 35 yards rushing three times. Atlanta is giving up 142.8 ypg at 5.4 ypc so there is hope.
.
9. Marshawn Lynch, Seattle Seahawks
Beast Mode is averaging 101.6 ypg. Seattle has the defense to at least slow Brady and company down so Lynch can see plenty of touches.
.
10. Alfred Morris, Washington Redskins
The Vikings are only giving up 78.6 ypg, but has steadily produced. His low water mark is 78 yards.
.
11. Reggie Bush, Miami Dolphins
Bush has just 176 yards in the three games since his 172-yard effort. As his knee gets stronger, he should bounce back, especially against a Rams team giving up 117.2 ypg.
.
12. Frank Gore, San Francisco 49ers
Gore is averaging 94.2 total yards and 0.8 touchdowns per game. The Giants are giving up 111.4 ypg at 4.5 ypc.
.
13. Michael Turner, Atlanta Falcons
He’s only managing 64.8 ypg on the ground, but he has scored four touchdowns. He should shred Oakland, who is giving up 128.5 ypg on the ground.
.
14. Rashard Mendenhall, Pittsburgh Steelers
His short week prevents Mendenhall, who had 81 yards and a touchdown in his season debut, from being a RB1 despite facing Tennessee. The Titans are yielding 144.2 ypg.
.
15. Doug Martin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Martin has stalled out a bit the past two weeks averaging just 58.0 total yards. He should improve against Kansas City, who is giving up 121.0 ypg.
.
16. Ahmad Bradshaw, New York Giants
He dropped 200 yards on the Browns, but the Niners will provide a reality check.
.
17. Stevan Ridley, RB, New England Patriots
Ridley has had some big games, going over 100 yards three times, but it’s his 37 yard dud against Baltimore that has me concerned. He’s facing the Seahawks, who have allowed just 66.6 ypg.
.
18. BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Cincinnati Bengals
The Law Firm was closed on Sunday (nine carries for 14 yards against Miami). He faces Cleveland, who he had 105 total yards against a couple of week ago. The Browns are giving up 142.4 ypg.
.
19. Willis McGahee, Denver Broncos
McGahee is averaging 93.4 ypg. The Chargers are only yielding 74.0 ypg on the ground, but with eleven receptions in two games he can add to his total in the passing game.
.
20. Steven Jackson, St. Louis Rams
He has had extra time to get healthy playing last Thursday. Unfortunately he faces the Dolphins, who have allowed 61.4 ypg..
.
21. DeMarco Murray, Dallas Cowboys
Murray hasn’t been able to move the ball on the ground (106 yards in his past three games), but he’s supplemented it with his receiving (105 yards in his past three games). Baltimore isn’t an ideal place to get well.
.
22. C.J. Spiller, Buffalo Bills
The good news is the fact that Arizona won’t have the offense to take Spiller out of the game the way New England and San Francisco did. He’s still sharing and facing a tough Arizona defense.
.
23. Vick Ballard, Indianapolis Colts
With Donald Brown out, Ballard has an ideal match-up for his first start. The Jets are horrible against the run, ranking 31st in run defense, allowing 172.0 ypg at 4.9 ypg. They have also allowed eight rushing touchdowns
.
24. Chris Johnson, Tennessee Titans
CJ0K returned to his form with 24 yards against the Vikings. Next up is Pittsburgh. Good luck.
.
25. Mikel Leshoure, Detroit Lions
Leshoure found Minnesota a lot more difficult to run on than Tennessee. He has been active in the passing game though. He’s a borderline RB2 play against Philly.
.
26. Shonn Greene, New York Jets
He’s a dog, but he should be able to turn in a mediocre game against the Colts.
.
27. Alex Green, Green Bay Packers
Not an ideal start against Houston, but he should get his chances.
.
28. William Powell, Arizona Cardinals
Powell takes over for Williams, who took over for Beanie. He does face Buffalo though, and they have allowed 171.8 ypg and nine touchdowns on the ground.
.
29. Fred Jackson, Buffalo Bills
He’s getting his touches as well, but hasn’t been able to do anything with it. Arizona presents a challenge.
.
30. Daniel Thomas, Miami Dolphins
He has had double-digit carries and a touchdown in two of the past three games. He’s a risky play, but he could punch one in against St. Louis.
.
31. Kendall Hunter, San Francisco 49ers
I don’t expect the game to get away like the past two when the Niners have combined to win 79-3, but he should get close to 8-10 carries against the Giants.
.

Hey Lester just been offered a trade and I wanted your opinion on it. The guy is offering me Michael Turner, Andre Johnson &

Would you drop LeShoure for Mendenhall? Also, who would you start: Reggie Bush, Alfed Morris & which one of the other 2? Thanks!
LestersLegends
October 9th, 2012 at 11:54 am #
Wah – probably greene. he still has the gig. green is next
Mel – I like Mendy better. You’ll notice I have Bush and Morris as top 11 backs this week.

Lester, I saw your rankings they are always a huge help but I’m in a tight match up in my PPR. Who is my strongest start: Bush & Morris since Mendenhall is on short week?
LestersLegends
October 9th, 2012 at 1:12 pm #
Ordinarily I may consider Mendy over Bush based on last week or Morris based on the match-up, but because of the short week I’d go with Bush & Morris.

Who do you think will get more carries for arizona this week between william powell and larod stephens-howling? Both are available in my league and I need a fill in at RB
LestersLegends
October 10th, 2012 at 5:39 am #
It’s really hard to say. I’m hearing both names. i think that you have to wait until later in the week until we get some reports on their practices to be sure. I think it’s going to be powell, but i don’t know for sure.

Hey ryan….I see on the free agent pool this morning larod stephens howling Williams Powell and bilal Powell which one would be a great stash?? I’ve noticed that a lot of experts have legarette Blount ranked in the top 25 this week?? Why? Is he getting tht goaline carries instead of Martin?? Do they know something that I don’t ? Blount is available in pretty much all of my leagues…..

Whats up RY. Thanks again for your help this year so far. Im in need of some more of it. Pick 2: Mendenhall, Turner or Morris this week? Pick 1: Wayne, Bowe, or Austin this week? Record 3-1-1…1st place! Thanks!
LestersLegends
October 10th, 2012 at 8:53 am #
Lance – I’m not feeling blount yet. it makes sense to give him the goaline because of his size. i can’t shed any light on which az back to grab. howlings if he’s healthy i suppose
Caster – Morris keeps producing so you have to keep him in. I have turner a little higher than mendy because of the short week. Great WRs. How are you only able to pick one??? I like Wayne.

LestersLegends
October 10th, 2012 at 10:57 am #
julio and welker. bradshaw. a brown is more consistent. if you only start two it probably doesn’t matter. ppr – brown for sure. non-ppr i still prefer brown.

@ Ryan. The only reason I can choose 1 wide receiver is because the other receiver is MEGATRON. And he’s automatic. My running backs this week are T. Richardson, Turner, & Morris. Morris scares me this week with Minnesota not giving up any rushing TDs this year but maybe your right. Sit Mendenhall because of the short week. But I do like to have 3 running backs in my lineup. They usually produce more points. 2 wrs, 2 rbs & 1 flex. Thanks!

Hey Lester,
Who will I get the most bang for my buck with my current list of RB/WR…..I was planning to play:
RB – Alfred Morris, McGahee
WR -Roddy White, Calvin Johnson
Not sure who to decide with my flex?
Flex – Ridley, Murray, James Jones, or Cj Spiller
Or I was thinking to pick up Vick Ballard based on matchups this week for the flex position, let me know what you think.
Thanks!

Lester, You’re always a big help at getting my roster in shape so I can keep kicking all the guys as the only girl in my league. I thought about doing Mendy as a flex along with Bush & Morris. WR: Julio Jones & Cruz. Several analyst have put Torrey Smith on their Sit list for the week…makes me nervous. Have Hartline & James Jones. Thoughts?

Best RB option?
C. Johnson vs Pittsburgh
FA’s:
B. Tate vs Green Bay
J. Rodgers vs Oakland
Or any sleepers this week I should look into?

mel – i can see using mendy over torrey in the flex.
Blake – Possibly Ballard who is starting for Indy.

Lester, am I crazy to play Brown, Miller and PIT DEF tonight? I have Nelson,T.Smith,Hawkins,Gates and SF DEF on bench. Any help always appreciated !
LestersLegends
October 11th, 2012 at 2:22 pm #
If Miller is a flex i would probably go with T. Smith, but I see no problem with playing him over Gates. I agree with PIT D as well. I have Brown and Smith in the same tier so that isn’t crazy either. Jordy has been average on the road so benching him isn’t crazy.

Hey Lester,
Trade I was offered, really torn about pulling the trigger
I give V. Davis
I get A. Morris and Rudolph
My Team is
Brees/Big Ben
Forte/T Rich/CJ2K/D. Brown/LSH
Cruz/Lloyd/D. Moore/Hawkins/Amendola
Davis
Minn D.

October 11th, 2012 at 2:45 pm #

October 11th, 2012 at 3:05 pm #
Lester,
Its a PPR league and we utilize a RB/WR Flex. Since Amendola went down I have to use D. Moore in the flex and start Lloyd this week. I was thinking with this trade I could Dangle one of those RBs

you don’t really know how they are going to split carries in AZ. Powell has more upside. Rudolph safer.
