2012 Fantasy Football Start/Sit Week 16

Dec 19, 2012

Tony Romo under Center
Here’s a look at LestersLegends sit and start advice as you set your lineups for the 16th week of the 2012 NFL season.
Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys
Romo is averaging 333.2 yards with 10 touchdown passes in his past five games. Dez Bryant is showing toughness to match his talent. Jason Witten is one of the best security blankets in the league. The New Orleans Saints high-powered offense will likely mean Romo will have to do his part to keep up. The Saints have allowed 287 yards per game and 27 passing touchdowns.
Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers
Rivers is coming off a pathetic 121-yard game. He used to throw that many yards by midway through the second quarter. Rivers is playing on the road against the New York Jets and their second-ranked pass defense.
Running Backs
Reggie Bush, Miami Dolphins
Reggie has had a bit of a roller coaster season, but at least he’s at the fun part now. Bush is averaging 88.3 total yards in his past four games. The Buffalo Bills have allowed 144.1 yards per game and 22 rushing touchdowns.
Bryce Brown, Philadelphia Eagles
Speaking of roller coaster rides, Brown provided the excitement of a freefall in his first two games. Unfortunately he never hit the brakes and came crashing into the ground the past two games. I can’t imagine trusting Brown in the most important week of the season against the Washington Redskins’ sixth-ranked run defense.
Wide Receivers
Eric Decker, Denver Broncos
Decker has also been a little up and down this year, but has been on Peyton Manning’s speed dial of late. Decker has received 20 targets in the past two games, catching 16 passes for receptions for 221 yards and a touchdown. Demaryius Thomas will have to contend with Joe Haden, which could make Peyton continue to look Decker’s way against the Cleveland Browns.
Danario Alexander, San Diego Chargers
It is not hard to imagine sitting DX against the Jets after he failed to catch a pass last week, particularly when he’ll see plenty of Antonio Cromartie.
Tight Ends
Dennis Pitta, Baltimore Ravens
Pitta is averaging 58 yards with four touchdowns in his past four games. Joe Flacco has been unable to do damage on the outside. The New York Giants have surrendered three tight end touchdowns in the past seven games.
Vernon Davis, San Francisco 49ers
Davis has combined for 29 yards in his past four games. He was held without a catch in the first meeting with the Seattle Seahawks.
Denver Broncos
The Broncos rank fourth in total defense and fifth in scoring defense. The Browns rank 26th in total offense and 24th in scoring offense. The Broncos have allowed 17.8 points per game during their nine-game winning streak.
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens aren’t the team we’ve come to expect. They are facing the New York Giants this week. After getting thumped last week, they should bounce back this week. Both the Ravens and the Giants are too unpredictable to trust on either side of the ball.

Need to start two of these three at WR this week, Mike Wallace, Danny Amendola, and Marques Colston. What do you think?

I’m in a PPR league and playing for the championship…
One of these players sit: V Jackson, S Smith, C. Shorts, or Reggie.

Since I’m in a PPR league and I get a point for each reception so I love my WRs, but there is a lot of hype about Reggie this week.

Any help is appreciated. Cheers! Thanks.

DRush – Colston is one. Wallace if it’s not PPR, Amendola if it’s PPR
Little – Shorts would be the one I’d sit.

Tough but good choices at QB. I’d go Brees, but you should do well either way. In future seasons, I would suggest trading one. I’d sit Amendola. I like Bailey, but kickers are so unpredictable. I like Indy D. Seattle has been ON FIRE.

Moreno and Forte. I like Bailey this week. I’m using him. I think he’s a slightly better option than Barth.
