2012 Fantasy Football Start/Sit Week 7

Oct 17, 2012

Here’s a look at LestersLegends sit and start advice as you set your lineups for the seventh week of the 2012 NFL season.
Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals:  Perhaps the only team as banged up as the Ravens are is the Steelers. He has topped 300 yards in three of his past five starts. He has the luxury of throwing it up to A.J. Green and a safety net of Jermaine Gresham over the middle. The Steelers haven’t allowed a ton of yards, but they have given up nine passing scores in five games.
Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens:  Flacco is averaging 210.5 passing yards, 0.5 TDs, and 0.5 INTs over the past two games. He’s playing the Texans in Houston. They got lit up for six touchdowns by Aaron Rodgers, but had only allowed six TD passes prior.
Running Backs
Doug Martin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Roll with Martin again. The Saints are giving up 172.8 ypg on the ground. He only ran for 76 yards last week, but finished with 131 total yards. The Bucs will use him to try to slow down Brees. If that doesn’t work, he’ll be the one used in the passing game as they try to catch up.
Felix Jones, Dallas Cowboys:  With DeMarco Murray out, Felix has a chance to shine. Perfect timing as Carolina is giving up 127.4 yards per game on the ground.
Shonn Greene, New York Jets:  Coming off his three touchdown game you may think I’m nut. However, the Patriots defend the run well and the Jets will likely be playing from behind so there won’t be another 30+ carry day in Greene’s future.
Wide Receivers
James Jones, Green Bay Packers:  I know he has not piled up the yardage, but he has caught a pair of touchdown passes in each of the past three games. The Rams have only allowed four passing touchdowns, but look what they did to Houston last week.
Denarius Moore, Oakland Raiders:  Moore had five catches for 104 yards and a touchdown against Atlanta last week to bring his season average up to 71.8 yards per game. He hasn’t had less than 6.7 fantasy points in a game this year. He’s facing Jacksonville, who is allowing 261.0 yards per game through the air.
Darrius Heyward-Bey, Oakland Raiders: DHB did not catch a pass last week, and until he shows he’s back to form I would use somebody else.
Tight Ends
Owen Daniels, Houston Texans:  Losing Ray Lewis and Webb will hurt. The Ravens have allowed, on average, 69.6 yards per game to Gresham, Celek, Gronk, Watson, and Witten. Daniels is averaging 65.7 yards over the past three games.
Dennis Pitta, Baltimore Ravens:  In the past three games he’s combined for seven catches for 55 yards. I can’t trust him until he shows he’s more like the guy that averaged 62.7 yards the first three games.
Minnesota Vikings:  The Purple are top ten in scoring defense (19.5 ppg) and total defense (313.7 ypg). They are undefeated at home and have allowed just 14.3 ppg in the Dome. Arizona ranks 31st in total offense (283.0 ypg) and 26th in scoring offense (18.3 ppg).
Pittsburgh Steelers:  The injuries are a lot to overcome, especially when you are playing a divisional rival on the road. Throw in one of the top receivers in the game and you’ll want to look elsewhere. After all, they let Matt Hasselbeck throw for 290 yards last week.

Great I need to sit Flacco but my other qb is Stafford. I live in Detroit and watch every snap and he is just horrible this year and he’s up against the bears. I’m screwed

    My line up is

    QB Josh Freeman
    WR Josh Gordon
    WR James Jones
    RB Maurice Jones-Drew
    RB Felix Jones
    TE Rob Gronkowski
    W/R Michael Bush
    K Robbie Gould
    DEF Baltimore

I have Torrey Smith and Hakeem Nicks on the bench wondering if I should plug smith or nicks in at WR or W/R.

Smith. Nicks practiced today but he’s still a risk. He does have that sweet match-up though so if you’re a gambler that’s a nice one to roll the dice on.

Would you start Romo over Stafford this week? Also pick 3. Two at WR, one for flex… Welker, Fitzgerald, Dez Bryant or Mike Williams.
