2012 Fantasy Football Start/Sit Week 9

Oct 31, 2012

.
Here’s a look at LestersLegends sit and start advice as you set your lineups for the ninth week of the 2012 NFL season.
.
Quarterbacks
Start:
Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys
He threw for 437 yards, but also managed to throw four interceptions to frustrate fantasy owners. This week he takes on Atlanta. I’m expecting a shootout so the gunslinger should be set to throw about fifty times. If he can avoid throwing it to the wrong jerseys he should have a big day.
.
Sit:
Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers
Maybe it was the weather last week in Cleveland. Maybe the Chargers are serious about dialing their offense way back. Either way I don’t like the state of things in the San Diego passing department against the Chiefs, who are giving up just 222.3 passing yards per game.
.
Running Backs
Start:
Rashad Jennings, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jennings collected 115 total yards last week against the Packers. Even if the Lions pull way ahead, he should still be active in the passing game. Plus, Detroit has allowed 112.3 rushing yards per game.
.
Sit:
Fred Jackson, Buffalo Bills
I like Fred, but I’d like him a lot more if he weren’t sharing the load with C.J. Spiller and facing the Texans’ fourth-ranked run defense.
.
Wide Receivers
Start:
Denarius Moore, Oakland Raiders
Moore has scored four touchdowns in his past five games. He’s a great start against a Tampa Bay team giving up 309.6 passing yards per game.
.
Santana Moss, Washington Redskins
I picked him last week and he scored. In fact, he has four touchdowns in the past four games. I expect the whole Redskins offense to be better this week against Carolina.
.
Sit:
Kendall Wright and Kenny Britt, WRs, Tennessee Titans
The Bears already have 16 interceptions. There’s is an outside shot they caught more passes than either of these two Titan WRs.
.
Tight Ends
Start:
Brandon Pettigrew, Detroit Lions
Pettigrew has just one touchdown on the year and hasn’t reached 80 yards in a game, but he’s averaging 5.4 receptions per game so you know he’ll be active against Jacksonville.
.
Sit:
Jermichael Finley, Green Bay Packers
Until he shows that he’s truly healthy and heavily involved in the Packers’ offense it is hard to trot him out there. He’s averaging 19.5 yards the past four games.
.
Defenses
Start:
Green Bay Packers
The Packers shut down Jacksonville and they should keep rolling against Arizona. The Cardinals rank 31st in scoring offense (15.9 ppg) and total offense (289.9 ypg. They have allowed a league-high 39 sacks. Meanwhile Green Bay is tied for the lead in sacks.
.
Sit:
New York Giants
They gave up over 400 yards to Tony Romo in a game that he tossed four picks. I don’t like their unit against Big Ben and the Steelers.

WOuld you drop Mendenhall? His whole season has been Fantasy disaster. I rather have Joquie Bell on my bench. Am i crazy? Currently have CJ Martin and BJGE. could use another RB

I’d rather have Mendy, but Bell isn’t a bad option.

I ended up dropping Broyles. I picked him up in free agency but have Titus as well. Rather Bell if he has a chance of starting than both wrs. Had a free spot and figured id roster Broyles and see if he outplays Titus this week. Bell looks like a better gamble
