2012 Fantasy Football Team Defense Rankings – Week 1

.
The smell of football is in the air. Here are my 2012 Week 1 fantasy football kicker rankings.
.
1. Philadelphia Eagles
Last year they had crazy expectations and were slow out of the gate. They should be more equipped to handle the expectations this year, and getting Cleveland as a first draw should help.
.
2. Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks do have a very good, underrated defense, but this is as much an indictment of Arizona’s offense. Until they solve their QB and offensive line woes it will be a feast for opposing defenses.
.
3. Houston Texans
I don’t think last year was a fluke. They did it without Mario Williams for the most part so I’m confident that they will be solid without him. The Dolphins are a train wreck.
.
4. Buffalo Bills
Speaking of Mario Williams and train wrecks, the Jets can’t score and Super Mario should make life miserable for whoever is under center.
.
5. Chicago Bears
I like Andrew Luck, but the Bears are a tough start to his NFL career.
.
6. Detroit Lions
The Rams have a hard time keeping Bradford off his back, and going up against Suh and company won’t help matters.
.
7. Minnesota Vikings
Blaine Gabbert looked good in the preseason, but the regular season is a different animal, especially when you’re facing Jared Allen.
.
8. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Broncos will be better with Manning, but the Steelers could make his comeback start a little tough.
.
9. Baltimore Ravens
I don’t love their early match-up with Cincinnati, although it should be a great game, the Ravens can always turn in a solid defensive performance.
.
10. Cincinnati Bengals
It has the makings of a classic battle. Cincy could turn in a nice game against the Ravens.
.
11. Jacksonville Jaguars
I’m not convinced the Vikings will be able to put a lot of points on the board. Plus, I’m a little unsure of their kicker.
.
12. New England Patriots
I think the Patriots will be better this year on defense and they make a low-end DEF1 against the Titans.
.
13. New York Jets
The Jets are a mess on offense, but they still have a chip on their shoulder on defense.
.
14. Arizona Cardinals
They are playing at home and the Seahawks will be starting a rookie QB.
.
15. Denver Broncos
The Steelers don’t have a great line, have question marks at RB, Big Ben takes sacks, and the Broncos have a good pass rush.
.

Hey les, how come minnesota’s defense is getting top 10 love? Im fully expecting blackmon to have his coming out party against the vikings secondary.

I’m not buying into Gabbert. Blackmon should have a nice game, but I expect multiple sacks and multiple turnovers for the Vikes. I think they hold the Jags under 24 pts and 375 yards.

Good call – as long as blackmon gets his share of catches and a score I’m happy. I’ve got cinci’s D and I know ray rice will get his, but I’m banking that kirkpatrick and company to shut down the ravens passing game. Thoughts?

ravens are looking to open things up offensively. I’m a little nervous about that.
