2012 Fantasy Football WR Rankings – Week 4

Sep 24, 2012

.
With an exciting third week under our belts, here are the LestersLegends 2012 Week 4 fantasy football wide receiver rankings.
.
1. Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions
Has 369 yards and a TD and gets to lock horns with Minnesota. This is why you drafted Megatron.
.
2. A.J. Green, Cincinnati Bengals
Green has 311 yards and a pair of TDs. He’s emerging into one of the game’s top wideouts. Takes on Jacksonville, who has allowed 258.0 passing yards per game.
.
3. Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons
Got back on track with 67 yards and a score last week. Faces Carolina, who has allowed 243.7 ypg.
.
4. Jordy Nelson, Green Bay Packers
After facing a tough Seahawks’ defense he should run wild against a Saints team giving up 262.3 ypg.
.
5. Percy Harvin, Minnesota Vikings
Harvin has 319 total yards, but has yet to get in the end zone. Detroit has allowed five scores and 250.7 ypg.
.
6. Stevie Johnson, Buffalo Bills
Has scored in four straight games dating back to last year. He scored in both games against New England last year. The Pats have allowed five passing scores and 262.0 ypg.
.
7. Hakeem Nicks, New York Giants
With the week off Nicks should be ready to roll against the Eagles.
.
8. Andre Johnson, Houston Texans
Has 212 yards and a pair of scores. Will he be needed against Tennessee or will it be all the ground game?
.
9. Steve Smith, Carolina Panthers
Smith has 296 yards and extra time for the Panthers’ offense to get back on track against Atlanta.
.
10. Miles Austin, Dallas Cowboys
Has 243 yards, a pair of TDs, and a date with the Bears.
.
11. Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City Chiefs
Bowe has 234 yards and two touchdowns. He takes on the Chargers, who have allowed five passing scores.
.
12. Torrey Smith, Baltimore Ravens
Coming off an emotional game that saw him drop two TDs on New England while mourning his brother. He should have his way with Cleveland, who has allowed eight passing touchdowns.
.
13. Victor Cruz, New York Giants
Has 279 yards and a touchdown. Had 238 yards and three TDs against Philly last year.
.
14. Roddy White, Atlanta Falcons
Has 244 yards and a touchdown. Had 84 yards and a score in the last meeting with Carolina.
.
15. Vincent Jackson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
He has been quiet for two of the three games, but could explode against a Redskins team that has allowed ten passing scores.
.
16. Demaryius Thomas, Denver Broncos
Has 222 yards and two TDs. Oakland has allowed 264.7 ypg and six passing TDs.
.
17. Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals
Kolb got him the ball last week and I expect that to be a common theme.  Takes on a Miami team allowing 309 ypg.
.
18. Wes Welker, New England Patriots
Getting more involved in the action. Faces Buffalo, who has allowed six passing TDs and 248.3 ypg.
.
19. Marques Colston, New Orleans Saints
I’m expecting a shootout with Green Bay and Colston should be heavily targeted.
.1
20. Greg Jennings, Green Bay Packers
He should also produce against the Saints..
.
21. Eric Decker, Denver Broncos
Look for Peyton to spread the love against the Raiders.
.
22. Brandon Marshall, Chicago Bears
He has the size to get it done against Dallas. Will the line hold up enough for Cutler to get it to him?
.
23. Brandon Lloyd, New England Patriots
Has yet to break a long one, but Buffalo presents a good opportunity.
.
24. Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys
Dez is off to a slow start and has yet to find the end zone, but he’s a decent play against Chicago.
.
25. Lance Moore, New Orleans Saints
Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a middle ground for Moore. Brees trusts him though and he’s got a nose for the end zone.
.
26.  DeSean Jackson, Philadelphia Eagles
Quiet week for Jackson as Philly got manhandled. Should rebound at home against the Giants. He had 88 yards in their last meeting.
.
27. Malcom Floyd, San Diego Chargers
Has 227 yards and a TD. Takes on Kansas City, who has allowed eight passing scores.
.
28. Danny Amendola, St. Louis Rams
Against Seattle Amendola should see a ton of looks.
.
29. Kenny Britt, Tennessee Titans
Houston presents a tough test, but Britt is a difficult cover.
.
30. Santonio Holmes, New York Jets
He has a tough match-up with San Francisco, but is getting targeted heavily. He has 243 yards and a score on the year.
.
31. Andrew Hawkins, Cincinnati Bengals
Scored for the second straight game. Faces the Jags.
.
32. Michael Crabtree, San Francisco 49ers
Without Revis life will be a lot easier for Crabtree.
.
33. Anquan Boldin, Baltimore Ravens
The veteran still has some potential against Cleveland.
.
34. Brandon LaFell, Carolina Panthers
He had a quiet game against the Giants, but should rebound against the Falcons.
.
35. Leonard Hankerson, Washington Redskins
Should see plenty of targets against the Bucs, who have allowed 353.3 ypg.
.
36. Jeremy Maclin, Philadelphia Eagles
Sounds like he’ll be healthy enough to return. Hard not to put him in your lineup.
.
37. Denarius Moore, Oakland Raiders
Scored last week and has 112 yards in two games. With DHB out, he should see more looks against Denver.
.
38. Nate Washington, Tennessee Titans
Has 185 yards and a pair of TDs. Battles Houston.
.
39.  Mike Williams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Only has 104 yards on the year, but has two scores. Washington has allowed ten passing TDs.
.
40. Nate Burleson, Detroit Lions
Has had consistency issues this year, but should do well against the Vikings.

I have Miles Austin as my flex (Fitz, A Johnson starting WR). My opponent is starting Tony Romo. Taking Romo into account who do you flex Austin, Sproles, Benson or Reggie Bush?

Bush is banged up so I’d stick with Austin.

Need help with WR & Flex:
    QB: Brees, Flacco, Romo
RB: McFadden, LeShoure, Michael Bush, Sproles
WR: A. Johnson, G Jennings, Santonio Holmes
    TE: Gonzalez, M Bennett

Gonna dump Romo (picked up Flacco as FA). Need more WRs as Jennings is a dud, so far. Deshawn Jackson is available. Thoughts on Jerome Simpson as a flyer? Should I flex Bush, Sproles, Holmes or Jackson/Simpson.

Sorry for double post, forgot to mention: Nate Washington, Malcolm Floyd, Burleson and LaFell are available too. Leaning toward Jackson due to # of targets. Then there’s Simpson….

    Thanks mucho

i would go with desean. i like a few of those options more than simpson only because you don’t know what you’re getting yet.

    i’d probably flex sproles.

    Lester,
Can you please help me with my WR position in my PPR league? Should I start Victor Cruz over Greg Jennings? I know he out ranks him on your list, the only reason I ask is that Eli seems to be throwing more to Bennett., I need yo play the WR who will get me the most points. Also, I can’t decided between Pitta & Rudolph for TE?

Rodgers spreads it around so much. I would rather take my chances withh Cruz. I like Pitta. He gets more looks than Rudolph, who is a little banged up.

Ok week 4 WR debacle. I have looked at your rankings but still want your opinion on who to start:

Non-PPR: Nicks, Maclin, Nate Washington, Brian Hartline, Kendall Wright, Ogletree?
*Pitta’s goose egg was a big setback lastnight

PPR: Nate Washington, Maclin, Denaruis Moore, Nate Burelson?
And for PPR flex: Greg Olsen or Willis McGahee

    Thanks

To add on to my last post: Now it appears that Hakeem Nicks’s status has become doubtful!? Apparently he has a knee issue on top of the foot problem. Advice please.

JC – Watch Nicks and I’d go with him if he ends up playing. I like Maclin and Nate to go with him. If he misses I’d use Hartline. As for your other team I’m thnking Nate, Maclin and Moore. I like McGahee in the flex.

If Nicks does not play, do you like Brandon LaFell or Ramses Barden better to fill in :|

Nate Burleson, James Jones, and Brian Hartline are also available in FA.

I would say Barden. Though he is a risk given you dont’ really know what to expect as he has just one game. Safe play is probably LaFell.

With that being said, can you take a look up a few posts and let me know if you would drop anyone for Ramses? Possible drops also include DHB, Greg little, and Kevin Smith. He is my only reserve RB but does that matter lol?

    Thanks

With Nicks out, would you go with Barden or Fred Jackson for your flex tomorrow? 10 team PPR.

    Lester,
I have D. Thomas & A. Morris as my RB’s with R. Bush & LeSehoure on the bench. WR’s are T.Smith with 15.7 pts, Julio Jones, & starting Amendola since he had 160 yards at home & 1TD. Bench is tough: Cruz, Jennings. Pitta put up a big goose egg for me, so I need to make up points. Have Brady, Cowboys Defense, Gostkowski. Picked up H.Miller off waiver wire on bye week. What do you suggest? Going up against C.Johnson, H.Nicks,& M. Colston WR, Jones-Drew & McFadden,RB’s. J.Tamme TE. River’s-QB, 49ers defense, J. Hanson K
