2013 Get ‘em or Don’t Sweat ‘em – NFL Week 11

Nov 11, 2013

Tavon Austin TD
.
There were some unusual heroes this week. There always are. Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.
.
Scott Tolzien, QB, Green Bay Packers
Scott Tolzien threw for 280 yards and a touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles. He has a strong arm and good weapons. He’s worth a look if you’re desperate, but you probably already have a better option.
Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Tavon Austin, WR, St. Louis Rams
Tavon Austin caught two of three targets for 138 yards and a pair of scores against the Indianapolis Colts. He also returned a punt to the house. Great performance, but I am not ready to label him as roster worthy.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Jerricho Cotchery, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
Jerricho Cotchery caught both of his targets for 31 yards and a score against the Buffalo Bills. That’s four scores in two games. Might be worth a look for bench depth.
Ruling: Get ‘em.
.
Jermaine Kearse, WR, Seattle Seahawks
Jermaine Kearse caught three of four targets for 75 yards and a touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons. It was his second straight game with a score, but Percy Harvin is expected back soon.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Andre Roberts, WR, Arizona Cardinals
Andre Roberts caught five of eight targets for 72 yards and a touchdown against the Houston Texans. He didn’t do much prior to this game.
Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Brandon Bostick, TE, Green Bay Packers
Brandon Bostick caught all three of his targets for 42 yards and a touchdown against the Eagles. There are better options available.
Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
John Carlson, TE, Minnesota Vikings
John Carlson caught all seven of his targets for 98 yards and a touchdown against the Washington Redskins. He did look good, but it was his first good fantasy performance since Week 3 of the 2010 season.
Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Rob Housler, TE, Arizona Cardinals
Rob Housler caught four of five targets for 57 yards and a touchdown against the Texans. There are other options out there.
Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Delanie Walker, TE, Tennessee Titans
Delanie Walker caught four of eight targets for 62 yards and a touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He’s only a desperation play.
Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.

I like McCown short term. I’m thinking he starts a game or two. Enough to hold you over until Romo time.
