2013 Fantasy Football DEF Rankings – NFL Week 11

Nov 13, 2013

.
With another exciting week of football under our belts, here are the Lester’s Legends 2013 Week 11 fantasy football team defense rankings.
.
1. Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks rank third in total defense with 289 yards allowed per game and scoring defense with 15.9 points allowed per game. They are tied for fifth with 31 sacks and are tied for second with 22 forced turnovers. The Seahawks are playing a home game against the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikes rank 28th in total offense (315.7 yards per game) and have turned the ball over 18 times. Christian Ponder has looked better of late, but he’s banged up.
.
2. Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals rank 13th in total defense (330.6 ypg allowed) and 12th in scoring defense (22 ppg allowed). They have 26 sacks and 20 takeaways. The Cards take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags rank last in total offense (278.4 ypg) and scoring offense (12.8 ppg). They have allowed 31 sacks and have 17 turnovers.
.
3. Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals rank fourth in total defense (311.4 ypg allowed) and sixth in scoring defense (18.6 ppg allowed). They have 30 sacks and 16 takeaways. The Bengals play the Cleveland Browns. The Browns rank 25th in total offense (316.8 ypg) and 26th in scoring offense (19.1 ppg). Cleveland has been sacked 30 times.
.
4. Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers rank second in total defense (283.3 ypg allowed) and scoring defense (12.8 ppg allowed). They have 29 sacks and 21 takeaways. I don’t love their matchup against the New England Patriots, but they have the front seven in place to make life difficult for Tom Brady and company.
.
5. Houston Texans
The Houston Texans lead the league in total defense with 280 yards allowed per game. They have a solid matchup against the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders rank 18th in total offense (330.8 ypg) and 29th in scoring offense (18.4 ppg). They have allowed 36 sacks and turned the ball over 16 times.
.
6. New England Patriots
The New England Patriots rank seventh in scoring defense with 19.4 points per game allowed. They have 29 sacks and 19 takeaways. I’m expecting a physical game against the Panthers. Carolina ranks 20th in total offense (323.6 ypg) and 15th in scoring offense (23.8 ppg).
.
7. San Diego Chargers
The San Diego Chargers rank 13th in scoring defense with 22.4 points per game allowed. They face the struggling Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins rank 30th in total offense (303.9 ypg) and 20th in scoring offense (21.4 ppg). They have been sacked an NFL-high 37 times and they have 16 turnovers. Miami is short-handed at offensive line because of their scandal. They can’t run block or pass protect.
.
8. Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts got embarrassed last week, but they are better than that. They rank ninth in scoring defense (21.4 ppg allowed). They have 24 sacks and 14 takeaways. The Colts face the Tennessee Titans. The Titans rank 21st in total offense (322.9 ypg) and 19th in scoring offense (22.2). The loss of Jake Locker hurts.
.
9. New York Jets
The New York Jets rank eighth in total defense with 325.2 yards per game allowed. They have 27 sacks. The Jets take on the Buffalo Bills. The Bills rank 16th in total offense (332.9 ypg) and 28th in scoring offense (18.8 ppg). The Jets lead the league in rushing defense at 73.8 yards allowed per game.
.
10. New York Giants
The New York Giants have held the Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles and Raiders to an 11.3 points per game average during their three-game winning streak. They take on the Green Bay Packers with Scott Tolzien at the helm.

    Hey Ryan,

I have both the Titans and Colts. Would you drop the Titans for the remainder of the season or would you keep them and play them depending on match-up?

This week i’m going Colts, btw.

    Cheers

No love for my Brownies D? lol It’s all good though. Should be a close game. Darkhorse sleeper in the game-RB Chris Ogbonnaya. He had 16+pts ppr last time vs. Cincy, and Chud/Norv have been saying all bye week how they wanna get him more touches. Probably because McGahee blows lol. I do think Cincy should win, but it would’nt surprise me at all if they don’t.

Stevie Johnson and Robert Woods both out for the Bills. Do the Jets jump up any higher? Still start ARI over the Jets?

Ryan, Am i nuts for playing the Giants D this week? They’ve looked awfully good the past three weeks. SD is available as of now on the FA list. I also see Mike Wallace may be a GTD all of a sudden. Should i snag SD’s D?

Idk why it keeps logging me out. I noticed the on nfl.com and espn’s rankings SD is nowhere near as highly ranked as the GMen. Why are you so high on them?

I don’t think nfl or espn have adjusted to the fact that Miami’s o-line is in shambles.

So SD over GMEN? Or is it the same tier?

I think same tier. Matter of preference and your scoring system.

    Gimme your final scores lol

You thinking SD gives up less points? Our scoring system is the generic typical standard scoring system on the four-letter network. SD is actually projected out higher on espn. But fantasypros has it a dice roll at 51/49%.

SD wins 27-13 and NYG wins 31-24.
