2013 Fantasy Football DEF Rankings – NFL Week 13
With another exciting week of football under our belts, here are the Lester’s Legends 2013 Week 13 fantasy football team defense rankings.
1. Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers rank third in the league in total defense with 297.5 yards allowed per game. They lead the NFL in scoring defense with 13.7 points allowed per game. The Panthers have 34 sacks and 24 takeaways. They face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs rank 31st in total offense with 303.4 yards per game and 28th in scoring offense with 19.2 points per game. They have allowed 28 sacks.
2. Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns rank fourth in total defense with 306.1 yards allowed per game. They have 31 sacks and 13 takeaways. They face the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags rank last in total offense (283 ypg) and scoring offense (12.9 ppg). They have allowed 37 sacks and have 19 turnovers.
3. San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers rank sixth in total defense (311.6 ypg allowed) and fourth in scoring defense (16.7 ppg allowed). The Niners have 25 sacks and 22 takeaways. They face the St. Louis Rams. The Rams rank 23rd in total offense with 324.6 yards per game. They have allowed 26 sacks and have 14 giveaways.
4. New England Patriots
The New England Patriots rank ninth in scoring defense with 20.9 points allowed per game. The Pats have 34 sacks and forced 23 turnovers. They take on the struggling Houston Texans. The Texans rank 30th in scoring offense with 18.1 points per game. Houston has allowed 30 sacks and has 20 turnovers.
5. New York Jets
The New York Jets rank ninth in total defense with 322.9 yards allowed per game. They have 32 sacks. They are facing the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins rank 28th in total offense (310 ypg) and 23rd in scoring offense (20.8 ppg). Miami has allowed an NFL-high 44 sacks and have committed 18 turnovers.
6. Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens rank 10th in total defense (329 ypg allowed) and seventh in scoring defense (19.5 ppg allowed). The Ravens are tied for the league-lead with 37 sacks and have 16 takeaways. They face the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers rank 21st in scoring offense with 22.1 points per game. They have allowed 37 sacks and have 18 turnovers.
7. Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys are not strong defensively, but I like their matchup at home against the Oakland Raiders on Thanksgiving. The Boys have 26 sacks and 23 takeaways. The Raiders are 26th in scoring offense with 19.4 points per game. Oakland has allowed 38 sacks and has 18 turnovers.
8. Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears should look a little like their old self against the Minnesota Vikings. Chicago has 22 takeaways and the Vikings have 23 giveaways. Devin Hester always seems to have a big day in the return game against Minnesota.
9. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers rank 13th in total defense (343.2 ypg allowed) and 13th in scoring defense (23.3 ppg allowed). They face the Ravens. Baltimore ranks 29th in total offense (308.8 ypg) and 21st in scoring offense (22.1 ppg). The Ravens have allowed 37 sacks and have 19 turnovers.
10. Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks rank second in total defense (293.3 ypg allowed) and tied for second in scoring defense (16.3 ppg allowed). The Seahawks have 33 sacks and 26 takeaways. Seattle has a tough matchup against the New Orleans Saints, which makes them only a borderline starting fantasy defense this week.
