Kansas City Chiefs D
.
With another exciting week of football under our belts, here are the Lester’s Legends 2013 Week 8 fantasy football team defense rankings.
.
1. Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs rank fifth in the league with 304.6 yards allowed per game. They lead the league in scoring defense with 11.6 points allowed per game. Their 35 sacks and 19 takeaways are also league-highs. They are facing the Cleveland Browns at home. The Browns have rank 26th in total offense (313.7 yards per game) and scoring offense (18.7 ppg). They have allowed 27 sacks and have turned the ball over 10 times.
.
2. Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks rank second in total defense (282.1 ypg allowed) and third in scoring defense (16.6 ppg allowed). They have recorded 23 sacks and forced 19 turnovers. They face a St. Louis Rams team that just lost Sam Bradford for the year. The Rams rank 30th in total offense (298.7 ypg). They have allowed 17 sacks. I feel their offense will really struggle without Bradford or a consistent running game. The Rams rank 29th in the league with 70.6 rushing yards per game.
.
3. San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers rank eighth in total defense (326.1 ypg allowed) and seventh in scoring defense (19.3 ppg allowed). The Niners have 17 sacks and 15 takeaways. They should dominate the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags rank last in the league with 282 yards per game and 10.9 points per game. They have allowed 28 sacks and have committed 14 turnovers. The top three defenses are interchangeable this week.
.
4. Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers rank third in the league in total defense (302.2 ypg allowed) and second in scoring defense (13.8 ppg allowed). They have 18 sacks and 14 takeaways. The Panthers are a strong option in a short week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs rank 31st in total offense (297.8 ypg) and scoring offense (14.5 ppg).
.
5. Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers rank 15th in total defense (345.8 ypg allowed) and 12th in scoring defense (21.2 ppg allowed). They catch the Minnesota Vikings at their worst. The quarterback play is a mess. Their line is awful. They have just one garbage time offensive touchdown in the past two games. Green Bay’s offense will likely take Adrian Peterson out of the game. It’s ugly in Minnesota right now.
.
6. Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals rank ninth in total defense (334.3 ypg allowed) and seventh in scoring defense (19.3 ppg allowed). Their front four will slow the New York Jets’ running game and put pressure on Geno Smith. The Jets rank 24th in scoring offense (19.1 ppg). They have allowed 25 sacks and turned the ball over 15 times.
.
7. Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons have not been great defensively, but they have a favorable matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. The Cards rank 29th in total offense (309.7 ypg) and 25th in scoring offense (19 ppg). They have been sacked 20 times and have committed 17 turnovers.
.
8. New York Jets
The New York Jets rank fourth in total defense (302.6 ypg allowed). They made Tom Brady look average even with Rob Gronkowski back. They have recorded 24 sacks. They are a decent play against the Bengals. The Bengals rank 22nd in scoring defense (21.1 ppg). They have turned the ball over 12 times.
.
9. New England Patriots
The New England Patriots rank 18th in total defense (352.7 ypg allowed) and fifth in scoring defense (18.1 ppg allowed). The Pats have 18 sacks and 13 takeaways. They have a solid matchup against the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins rank 27th in total offense (312.7 ypg) and 17th in scoring offense (22.5). They have allowed 26 sacks and have turned the ball over 11 times.
.
10. New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints rank 11th in total defense (338 ypg allowed) and fourth in scoring defense (17.2 ppg allowed). They have 20 sacks and 12 takeaways. They take on the Buffalo Bills. The Bills rank 18th in total offense (333.3 ypg) and 16th in scoring offense (22.7 ppg). They have been sacked 24 times and have committed 10 turnovers.

Are the Bears drop worthy? They are injury depleted to say the least and their schedule coming out of the bye does them no favors.

    Hey Ryan,

I’ve got the Broncos D. I knew about the injuries ans suspensions.

Do you think i should drop them. i was thinking of saints for this week, without dropping the Broncos, but missed them.

Cowboys, Colts, Titans, Packers, Jets are all available (and many more of course)

    Thank you in advance

They don’t have a great schedule down the stretch. I like the Colts.

    Hey thanx,

I’ll go this week and take Colts after the bye.

I was thinking Packers for this Week too, but I don’t know.
