With another exciting week of football under our belts, here are the Lester’s Legends 2013 Week 4 fantasy football team defense rankings.
.
1. Cincinnati Bengals
The Cleveland Browns stunned the Minnesota Vikings last week. They won’t have as much luck against their in-state rivals. The Cincinnati Bengals rank 11th in total defense at 333.3 yards allowed per game and 12th in scoring defense at 21.3 points per game. Despite their outburst, the Browns rank 25th in total offense with 319.7 yards per game and 28th in scoring offense at 15.7 points per game. The Browns have allowed 14 sacks. Look for Geno Atkins and company to get after them.
.
2. Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks lead the league in both total defense (241.7 ypg) and scoring defense (nine ppg). The Houston Texans are moving the chains, but they only rank 15th in scoring offense at 23.3 points per game. Andre Johnson is hurting and Arian Foster isn’t quite the same.
.
3. Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts put on an impressive display last week hitting the road and holding the San Francisco 49ers to seven points. They rank 14th in total defense (341.3 ypg) and sixth in scoring defense (16 ppg). They are facing the NFL’s worst offense (230.3 ypg and 9.3 ppg).
.
4. Pittsburgh Steelers
This is a far cry from the Steel Curtain, but the Pittsburgh Steelers still rank fifth in total defense at 298 yards allowed per game. They have allowed 25.3 points per game, but the Minnesota Vikings aren’t exactly an offensive powerhouse. The Vikings make key mistakes and struggle to extend drives.
.
5. Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs did a good job of holding the Philadelphia Eagles to 16 points despite 431 yards of offense. The Chiefs rank eighth in total defense (309 ypg) and second in scoring defense (11.3 ppg). The New York Giants rank 20th in total offense (334.7 ypg) and 27th in scoring offense (18 ppg) after getting destroyed by the Carolina Panthers. The G-Men have nine interceptions and four fumbles. They have also allowed 11 sacks. The Chiefs lead the league with 15 sacks. It could be another long day for Eli Manning and company.
.
6. New York Jets
The surprising New York Jets rank third in total defense (270 ypg) and seventh in scoring defense (16.7 ppg). The Tennessee Titans rank 29th in total offense (309.7 ypg) and 21st in scoring offense (20 ppg). The Jets have only allowed 79.7 yards per game. If they can bottle up Chris Johnson, it will be a long day for the Titans. The Jets are also tied for third with 12 sacks.
.
7. New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints rank fourth in total defense (295.7 ypg) and fifth in scoring defense (12.7 ppg). Yes, they have faced the Arizona Cardinals and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but they also slowed the Atlanta Falcons. The Miami Dolphins are 3-0, but they rank 26th in total offense (319.3 ypg).
.
8. Tennessee Titans
The Titans quietly rank seventh in total defense (307.7 ypg) and 10th in scoring defense (18.7 ppg). Geno Smith has provide some heroics, but the Jets rank 26th in scoring offense (18.3 ppg).
.
9. Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings were disgraced by the Browns last week, but they do have another favorable matchup. The Steelers rank 28th in total offense (310.3 ypg) and 30th in scoring offense (14 ppg). The Steelers have allowed 10 sacks and could struggle to contain Jared Allen and company.
.
10. Chicago Bears
I don’t love the Chicago Bears this week going up against the Detroit Lions’ high-powered offense, but they are always a threat to produce a return touchdown. They already have three on the year.

Considering my Week 5 DEF start in PPR league, while I have Chicago DEF (vs. NO) but Cleveland DEF (vs. BUF Thursday night) is available. Cleveland DEF is looking good and has a favorable matchup while Chicago DEF produces but is playing Brees. What do you think, should I take a chance on Cleveland over Chicago for week 5?

I like Cleveland D as long as you don’t have to drop a good player to get them.
