2013 Fantasy Football QB Rankings – NFL Week 12

Nov 19, 2013

With another exciting week of football under our belts, here are the Lester’s Legends 2013 Week 12 fantasy football quarterback rankings.
1. Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos
Peyton Manning is averaging 357.2 yards and 3.4 touchdowns per game. He has not thrown for less than 295 yards in a game this year and has just one game without multiple touchdown passes. He was able to move the ball against the Kansas City Chiefs last week. He should have no problem against the New England Patriots this week.
2. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints
Drew Brees is averaging 336.9 yards and 2.6 touchdowns per game. He too will find this week’s foe (Atlanta Falcons) easier than last week’s (San Francisco 49ers). The Falcons have allowed 249.2 yards and 2.1 touchdowns per game.
3. Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions
Matthew Stafford is averaging 319.8 yards and 2.1 touchdowns per game. Darrelle Revis and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will try to slow down Calvin Johnson, but that’s easier said than done. The Bucs have allowed 240.3 yards and 1.9 touchdowns per game.
4. Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys
Tony Romo is averaging 268.1 yards and 2.1 touchdowns per game. The bye week gave Dez Bryant time to rest his back. Romo should be able to put up big numbers against the New York Giants. The G-Men have allowed 238.1 yards and 1.4 touchdowns per game.
5. Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers
Cam Newton continues to get the job done with his arm and his feet. He should light up the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins are giving up 242.3 yards per game.
6. Tom Brady, New England Patriots
Tom Brady renews his rivalry with Peyton Manning. He should be able to air it out against the Denver Broncos. The Broncos have allowed 279.1 yards and 1.8 touchdowns per game.
7. Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts
Andrew Luck is averaging 243 passing yards, 1.4 passing touchdowns, 23.1 rushing yards and 0.4 rushing touchdowns per game. He should have a strong game against the Arizona Cardinals. The Cards have yielded 243.5 yards and 1.8 touchdowns per game.
8. Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons
Matt Ryan is averaging 286.8 yards and 1.8 touchdowns. He will have to throw plenty against the New Orleans Saints.
9. Eli Manning, New York Giants
Eli Manning is averaging 258.6 yards and 1.2 touchdowns. I’m expecting a shootout with the Dallas Cowboys. The Boys have allowed 313 yards and a pair of touchdowns per game.
10. Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers
Colin Kaepernick is averaging 180.2 passing yards, 1.1 passing touchdowns, 33.5 rushing yards and 0.3 rushing touchdowns per game. Look for Kaepernick to raise his game against the Washington Redskins. The Skins have allowed 274.9 yards and 1.9 touchdowns per game.

Hi Lester! I play in a 7 teamer league and I am having difficult decision on what RB to play and also what QB to play. Here is my line up. Qb Andrew Luck or Colin Kaepernick. Rb are Zac Stacy, Frank Gore, Matt Forte. WR Terrance Williams, Marquis Colstom, Jarrett Boykin, Brandon Marshall. Kicker Adam Vinaterri and Mason Crosby. I know you you will say check out my rankings. I just want your own personal feelings on it. I am not liking luck against that Arizona def and Kap play a Washington Redskin do I need to say more. But I been playin luck for awhile cause Kap stinks but this week on monday night he seems to draw my attention. There Zac stacy who been on fire and Frank gore who will be against redskins. I playing Forte he is automatic. Just give me your opinion.

Luck and Kap are in the same tier imo. If you want to go with Kap, this is a good week to do it. Forte is the obvious choices. I like Stacy a little more, but Gore is a good choice too. All three are in my top 9. I just like gore the least, but if you like him better, then roll with him.

Would you start Eli or Glennon over RGIII?

I have two questions for week 12. Would you start Rivers if you have no other great options or would you rather start McCowen, Glennon, etc… Also, would you start Amendola or Kendall Wright?

Lester- What a grind it’s been, went from 2-4 to 7-4 with a 5 game win streak. I am in 3rd and face the #1, #2, and #4 to close the season with only 4 making the playoffs. I started Nick Foles the last two weeks (bye this week) and benched Matty Ice. I see he’s popped back up on your rankings and was going to ask if I should claim Carson Palmer, Alex Smith, or my hometown grinder Josh McCown?

I start Julius Thomas also so I’m wondering if I claim a TE to be safe? Delanie Walker, Jared Cook, and several others including this Carlson guy who has been playing well…

Must win this week, thoughts please!!!???

JJ – Eli, yes. Glennon, no.
Rex – I’d goMcCown over Rivers, but it’s close. Amendola
JC – I’d go with Ice. I’d grab Walker.

Ah yes, finally broke the 4 game skid because of Cam and a gut call to roll Olsen instead of Reed. Feels good.

1)Ok so Roll Olsen this week because Reed is concussed. If he’s cleared do i gamble w/ him on MNF? I’m leaning not. Also GGraham is available but i’m low on the ww. Might not get’em. Would you make a play on Graham and drop Reed? or just play Olsen @ MIA?

    2) Your boy Vereen put up 15+ in ppr this past week. You don’t have him ranked, but i think i like him home on SNF vs. DEN over a hurt Keenan Allen. Thoughts?

    RB-Andre Brown
D/ST- i have NYG home vs DAL (whom btw put up nice pts again last week). Or TENN @ OAK. I was thinking of tring to grab NO home vs the ATL off FA when waivers clear. Rank the 3′s for me.

Sh!t, i forgot my Flex spot. Vereen or Keenan? everyone else is on bye for me. Leaning Vereen. Thx…

    1. Going with Olsen either way. I’d stick with Reed and play Olsen.
    2. I’d go Vereen. NO, Tenn, NYG

Hi! Thank you for the rankings thoughts!

I’m in a 2 WR; 1 RB; 1 Flex league. Starting B. Marshall, D. Thomas, and Zac Stacy. Who would you suggest for the Flex? Antonio Brown, Gore, or Andre Brown? I like starting a WR Flex since it’s PPR, but it’s hard to sit those RB’s this week.

DP…my two cents…It’s between the 2RB’s. Antonio will have Haden covering him, although he should still do ok, i would curb my expectations. The guy held AJ Green to 2catches for 7 yds last week, and has done very well against elite WR1′s all year.

im playing the espn gridiron challenge, and i am having a tough time picking between brees and brady. Brees obviously will do good, but i cant imagine them having a hard time at all against the falcons, and im sure they are going to run the ball alot as well. Brady i believe is going to have to air it out all day, so i have a feeling he will get more yards and Td’s than brees… what are your thoughts? i need as many points as possible, its a close one in our group.

It’s really close. I still like Brees. I don’t think they let off the gas until at least halfway through the 4th quarter.

Ryan- Do you have a hunch that Matty Ice will perform well tomorrow night? I’m trying to make a decision about hitting the waiver for the likes of Palmer, Glennon, etc. because roto and others are saying he’ a QB2 and only worthy of starting in 2 QB leagues. If you have a chance to provide your thoughts I’d appreciate it… THANKS!

I like Ice this week. Roddy is somewhat back. He’s going to pass a bunch. I just think he brings it.

Two QB league and I’m in a tough spot– I have Luck and need to pick up another off of waivers… have Dalton (BYE), Rodgers and picked up Cutler before his mini-comeback a few weeks ago.

    Tolzein vs Min.
    Fitzpatrick vs Oak
    Flacco vs NYJ
    Manning vs Dal (on waivers)

Then who do i drop (i’m tied for first so I don’t want to hurt my roster come playoffes)

RB- Morris, Lacy, Gio, Trent Richardson
WR- A. Johnson, Desean, Jordy, Colston, Harvin
TE- Vernon, Julius Thomas (another question who to start this week…)
D- Cleveland (who I picked up for this week vs Pitt) Arizona (my usual D)

I like Manning. I’d drop Cutler. li Luck and Dalton should get you through.

    Reed or Gates? Thanks!

    November 20th, 2013 at 5:26 pm #

Hey Rex, as a Reed owner myself, I’m going with Olsen this week over him, even if he’s cleared, which at this point is a big IF. I would go Gates if i were you. Less risk, and the same tier TE imo. Not even counting the matchup factor.

The one I ranked. Worried about Reed’s concussion and Monday Night start

Would you start RG3 or Keenum this week? I have been playing RG3 but am worried about the match-up this week. Thoughts?

Two RBs this week. Andre Brown, Chris Ivory, Shane Vereen or Le’Veon Bell?

Weird you didn’t ask this in the RB section. Brown and Bell.

Standard 12 team, 6pt for passing td and 1pt per 25yards passing

Roll with RGIII or pick up Glennon or Tolzien from waivers? (my backup is Prior who I would have to drop to make a move)

  28. LestersLegends
    November 24th, 2013 at 8:15 am #

I’m going RG3, but if you want to gamble, Tolzien is a nice option.

    Hey Ry,

Would you still start Romo over RGIII even with the windy/weather conditions in NY?
