2013 Fantasy Football QB Rankings – NFL Week 8

Oct 22, 2013

With another exciting week of football under our belts, here are the Lester’s Legends 2013 Week 8 fantasy football quarterback rankings.
1. Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos
Peyton Manning had an emotional return to Indianapolis, but still managed to put up big numbers. He’s averaging 366.4 yards and 3.6 touchdown passes per game. He is facing the Washington Redskins at home. The Skins have allowed 262.8 passing yards per game.
2. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers keeps losing weapons, but that he just keeps marching on. Rodgers is averaging 317.7 yards and 2.2 touchdowns. He should destroy the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikes have one of the worst pass defenses in the league. They are even worse now that Harrison Smith is sidelined.
3. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints
Drew Brees is averaging 326.3 yard and 2.3 touchdowns. Brees is coming out of the bye to face the Buffalo Bills. The Bills have allowed 256.9 yards and 2.1 touchdowns per game. Last week they yielded three touchdown passes to Ryan Tannehill. Brees should pick them apart at home.
4. Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions
Matthew Stafford is averaging 304.1 yards and 2.1 touchdowns. Calvin Johnson is clearly healthy after dropping 155 yards and a pair of scores on the Cincinnati Bengals. This week he faces the Dallas Cowboys in what is expected to be a shootout. The Boys have allowed 291.9 yards and a pair of touchdowns per game.
5. Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys
Tony Romo is averaging 287.1 yards and 2.1 touchdowns per game. He’s the other half of the shootout with the Detroit Lions. The Lions are giving up 282 yards and 1.4 touchdowns per game.
6. Robert Griffin III, Washington Redskins
Robert Griffin III is averaging 291 yards and 1.3 touchdowns. He’s also averaging 38.3 rushing yards per game. He’s showing signs that he’s back to his old form as he has 161 rushing yards in his past two games.
7. Michael Vick, Philadelphia Eagles
Michael Vick is averaging 237 passing yards, one passing touchdown, 61.4 rushing yards and 0.4 rushing touchdowns. Assuming his hamstring has healed, he should put up big numbers against the New York Giants.
8. Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons
No Julio Jones or Roddy White for Matt Ryan? No problem. He threw for 273 yards and three touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This week he gets the Arizona Cardinals. The Cards have allowed 252.7 yards and 1.9 touchdowns.
9. Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks
Russell Wilson is averaging 212.7 yards and 1.6 touchdowns through the air. He has also ran for 46.1 yards per game. Wilson is a strong play against the St. Louis Rams this week. The Rams are giving up 247 yards and 1.7 touchdowns per game.
10. Tom Brady, New England Patriots
Tom Brady is averaging 244 yards and 1.1 touchdowns. Things should improve for Brady as Rob Gronkowski gets settled in.
11. Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers
Colin Kaepernick is averaging just 202.9 yards and 1.1 touchdowns through the air. He’s added 34.3 yards per game and one rushing touchdown. I’m a little concerned that he won’t have to do much against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
12. Eli Manning, New York Giants
Eli Manning is capable of turning in a monster effort, but you have to worry about his turnovers. He has a nice matchup this week against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Iggles have allowed 311.6 yards and 1.9 touchdowns per game.

Play Cam thursday night, or cross my fingers and hope Vick plays sunday? I’m guessing Vick has to play, no? If he’s a late scratch, i’d have to ww a qb and drop Vick as Cobb is in my IR slot on my roster for possible playoff run. Or i could drop Cobb and hope that noone snags him. Thoughts?

    Play it safe with Cam.

If Vick does start, isn’t he a better play at home against NY, than RG3 against Denver?

If Vick is healthy i’m gonna have a hard time not playing him. It was vs. NYG a couple weeks back when he got hurt. He had 13+pts in the first quarter alone before he went down shortly thereafter. I’ll see what transpires between now and before Thursday night kickoff. If it’s even slighly up in the air as far as his health, I’ll roll Cam.

Vick is starting. I have to think Philly gets their 1st home win. As well as RG3 played, I’m forced to play him in one league, but I think Vick is the better match up, right?

Should I play cam or Rg3. Also, Zac Stacey or Quizz Rodgers

Hey Doc, I’m not saying Vick won’t start, they will push him to start, because there is’nt an alternative, but his health (not being 100%), is an issue. Ryan is right by saying Cam is the safe play on my end. Knowing my luck, Vick pulls up lame in the first quarter and Barkley comes in, and i get no points. Could totally see that happen.

cardio – they are six and seven. i’d play it safe with RGIII but that’ me. Play VIck if you want. They are on same tier.
Demarcus – I have RG3 ranked 6 and cam not in top 12 so you know where i stand there. If you prefer Cam, he’s not a bad play. I like Quizz better at RB.

plus, any setbacks and you’re screwed since cam is the early game

Ry….Gimme a final score for thursday night’s game, and a guesstimate on Cam’s stats.

I’m gonna go 23-20 CAR, and 225yds. 2TD’s 1INT, and about 30-40yds rushing. I just can’t see him putting up the numbers Vick will put up, even at less than 100%, although nfl.com has Cam ranked higher, but not by much. fantasypros has Vick 68%-Cam 32%.

Vick (hamstring) said after Tuesday’s practice that he isn’t sure whether he’ll be able to start Sunday against the Giants, Geoff Mosher of CSN Philly reports.

    In other words….Yikes.

I’m thinking 24-17. Cam is at 230, 1 TD pass, 1 run, 40 yards rushing. I wouldn’t leave Vick to chance and would roll with Cam

I do think he’s a slight upgrade. At least he won’t hesitate so much. I think he helps Cameron more than Gordon.

lol i think he’s going to be running for his life. KC knows CLE has zero run game. I would stack 8-9 in the box and show multiple blitz packages every play, all game long.

Vick (hamstring) practiced fully Wednesday. Vick fully expects to be running at full speed by Friday, which is a great sign that the dual threat will be able to produce in both aspects of the game.

Man, i sooo wanna start Vick. Yeah i know, i know…start Cam.

If you want to roll the dice on Vick, it’s not the worst decision ever. Signs are looking good.

You do have him ranked higher than Cam bro lol. Cam is a safe bet. I hate the wavering decision crap. Vick could easily pull something, or tweak something during the game, and i’m screwed. I just feel he’ll probably throw for more yards, and run for more yards than Cam. Especially if he’s at/near 100%. Am i wrong for assuming that? I like how it says ‘he fully expects to be running at full speed’ though. Sounds confident. In the end, it comes down to a simple question. Will he make it through the damn game???

I dropped Cobb and snagged Boykin this morning. I was gonna flex him over Joseph Randle. The RB situation seems cloudy in Big D right now. Murray may play, Dunbar is playing, etc. Do you like Boykin over Randle as a flex. Because of byes im starting Le’Veon and Sproles at RB, and Dez and Blackmon at WR.

Also, Reed the WASH TE is available. No one claimed him. Drop Bennett or Olsen for Reed? I’m thinking Bennett, now that JCut is out for a month minimum.

right. in a vacuum. when it comes to making the choice and one plays on thursday, that’s when it’s different. Your last remark, that’s the million dollar question

I do like boykin over randle. I would drop bennett for reed

Ok i just snagged Reed. Next question. Play Reed over Olsen, right? He’s projected higher, although that means little.

    The one ranked 5th

    October 24th, 2013 at 2:35 pm #

I got Romo and VIck… I Picked up Romo and had him on the bench for his breakout game. Start him the last two weeks and he gets 10 points..My question is wide recievers to start?

    QB .. ROMO and VICK
RB.. J Charles, Forte, and Lacy and Ivory
WR.. Decker,Cruz, blackman, Terrance Williams, and harry douglas
    TE.. Heath Miller

  28. LestersLegends

At least CAR’s D/ST got me 16pts, and i sat Olsen who did score, but only had like 11pts ppr. I’m guessing Reed does at least that. So 2 of my possible 3 plays last night were ok. I forgot the first rule of fantasy…’play your studs. Cam > Vick. But it is tough to sit Vick. Cam’s matchup next week is juicy though, already looking ahead…home vs. a banged-up ATL D that has given up 7.8 yards per pass attempt and 4.2 yards per rush.
