2013 Fantasy Football QB Rankings – NFL Week 9

Oct 29, 2013

Cam Newton run
.
With another exciting week of football under our belts, here are the Lester’s Legends 2013 Week 9 fantasy football quarterback rankings.
.
1. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints
Drew Brees is averaging 327.1 yards and 2.7 touchdowns per game. The New York Jets got schooled by Andy Dalton last week. Imagine what Brees will do to them? The Jets have allowed 237.1 yards and 1.9 touchdowns
.
2. Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers
Cam Newton is averaging 239.6 passing yards, 1.8 passing touchdowns, 35.2 rushing yards and 0.6 rushing touchdown in his past five games. He should continue to roll against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons have allowed 249.6 passing yards and 2.3 touchdown passes per game.
.
3. Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys
Tony Romo is averaging 277 yards and 2.3 touchdowns per game. He should be able to get Dez Bryant happy against the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikes have allowed 287.9 yards and 2.3 touchdowns per game.
.
4. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers is averaging 313 yards and 2.1 touchdowns. He should do well against a struggling Chicago Bears defense. The Bears have allowed 273.7 yards and 1.6 touchdowns per game.
.
5. Robert Griffin III, Washington Redskins
Robert Griffin III is averaging 268.3 passing yards, 1.3 passing touchdowns and 34.3 rushing yards. RGIII has a good matchup against the San Diego Chargers as long as his knee checks out. The Chargers have allowed 273.1 yards and 1.4 touchdowns.
.
6. Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers
Philip Rivers is averaging 304.6 yards and 2.1 touchdowns per game. He has been a little inconsistent, but should do well against the Washington Redskins. The Skins have allowed 273.7 yards and 2.1 touchdowns per game.
.
7. Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks
Russell Wilson continues to be productive with his arm and his feet. He should light up the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs have allowed 243.9 yards and 1.9 touchdowns per game.
.
8. Terrelle Pryor, Oakland Raiders
Terrelle Pryor is averaging 191.5 passing yards, 0.8 passing touchdowns, 65.2 rushing yards and 0.2 rushing touchdowns. The Eagles have allowed 302.3 yards and 1.8 touchdowns.
.
9. Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts
Andrew Luck is averaging 224.9 passing yards, 1.4 passing touchdowns, 26.1 rushing yards and 0.4 rushing touchdowns per game. He has a tough matchup against the Houston Texans, but he’s still a QB1 on a bye week that sends Peyton Manning, Matthew Stafford and Colin Kaepernick to the bench.
.
10. Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons
Matt Ryan is averaging 317.6 yard and a pair of touchdowns per game. He has a tough start against the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers have allowed 222.1 yards and just six touchdown passes on the year.

    1) I’d like to thank Mike Vick for personally losing my matchup this past week. That’s 2 matchups he outright lost for me so far this year. I thought it was impossible to put up negative points for a QB. I learned it is not. Cam starts from here on out despite matchup.

    2) Ryan….Just wondering how the hell you have TRich ranked anywhere NEAR the top 25 RB’s this week? He’s garbage. I was thinking of dropping him for Ellington (probably won’t get him), and at worst, he’ll be riding the pine until he shows any signs of life. Luck does not even look for him even in the passing game, making him expendable. Would’nt surprise me if DBrown is named the starter there. I will start Sproles despite his hideous performance last week over TRich no matter what.

    3) I take it that OAK will be the top streaming D this week vs. PHIL. Drop CAR for OAK’s D? CAR has run it’s course with an unfavorable schedule the next few weeks. I have the COLTS D saved on my bench for the stretch run.

What about Brady if Staff is off? Should I dump him and grab Locker who is putting up nice numbers? Brady is averaging 8.35 over the last 4 games…pathetic!

Jake Locker is available, best on WW is that what I should do? I have a really easy match up this week, but rocky roads ahead.

I dropped Vick, going with RG3 …not that a 3.98 did me any favors or the KC D/S, but thankfully the rest of my roster was solid and I’m in 1st place in all 3 of my leagues now. Ryan I need to post both my teams with the KC D/S because I want to pick up the Titans D this week and next when they play the Jags and they are on a bye. I have no idea who to drop…I’m really strong, I hate to drop a key player, but I have some really tough match ups that I can’t go without a D.

cardio – not sure what you’re asking about Locker. If you do list players to drop for a D, just include the ones that you are willing to drop.

I’m asking if he’s worth picking up and dumping Brady? Why is that so hard to understand? He has some favorable match ups.

Did you even read my first post?

Hey Doc….sometimes your posts tend to ramble all over the place, and now you’re sounding a little snooty with your chiding comments directed at Ryan.

BTW from what i can tell from your posts, are you asking to drop Brady for Locker for just this week? And no way would i drop a ‘name’ player for a D/ST. Do you carry 2 D’s or just 1 in your league? Just stream one like alot of people do. I would lower my expectations from here on out w/ the KC D. @BUFF won’t be a cakewalk, then @DEN, SD, DEN, @WASH, @OAK. Not seeing alot of high-end upside from here on out. Hell, the Browns even played them close (as predicted) at home.

I bet Jason frigging Campbell has more pts this week than Locker. BMORE’s pass D is’nt very good. Hell, i would’nt be surprised if CLE won at home. So long as Devone Bess does’nt drop 4 balls again this week.

    Cardio – I didn’t see that. Sorry. I wouldn’t drop Brady.

I’m pissed, I’m feeling patronized. I’m very intelligent and I don’t like being treated like I don’t matter. Try to rush posts between surgeries with people distracting you, I’m doing the best I can from memory. Brady sucks, I hate him! I have Stafford. I don’t trust Brady, he blew my championship last year. I own KC in 2 leagues where I’m stacked. I didn’t know if something may give at the TE position in one of my leagues, I own Jordon Cameron in both backing up Graham and VD. I have the option to stream D/S more is available here than in my 3rd league where I just dropped the Pats and grabbed the Titans. Fabiano even says you can’t trust Brady going forward. He has his weapons back and he sucks, Staff will only get better. Brady is done. Locker plays the Jags twice, his QB avg is 20+ how can you not love him as a match up based starter?

I’m not patronizing you. I didn’t see the post. I hear you on Brady. I just couldn’t give him away. Not for Locker. I like Cameron as a starter so having him as a #2 is great. I’m not saying don’t drop brady for locker, I just wouldn’t. Either way I’d roll with Staff all the way.

Doc, You have Graham, Davis, AND Cameron in 2 leagues? How many people are in it?…………. 6? 8?

Agree w/ Ryan. Rather have Brady than Locker myself. Don’t you have Stafford anyways? You roll him every week regardless. ?

Graham and Cam in one. VD and Cam in another. Reed and Gonzo I think in the other. Not a stretch since Cam didn’t get drafted high.

    October 30th, 2013 at 3:04 pm #

Yeah i’m talking 3 top 5-6 TE’s though. The list you just said is TE QB, TE QB, TE TE. That’s not a stretch at all.

I got Cam in the 6th round. He was the 9th QB taken. Even Wilson and Kaep went before him. I think Cam finishes top 5-6 ROS. At least i hope so. He looks awfully good right now. I think he may go nuts at home vs. the ATL this week.

    Ohhhhh. I got it.

And since when is Jordan Cameron referred to as Cam lmao. There’s only one Superman Ryan. There’s not two. And this is coming from a Browns fan lol.

    BTW…….Browns 23 Ravens 16
    I smell upset city.

Any hunches on whether Dalton chokes tonight? Between him and Brady it’s now looking pretty.

That’s tough. Would be hard to play TB right now. I think I’d stick with Brady, but I wouldn’t blame you or going Dalton.

I snagged Spiller too off ww. No way i play him over Sproles though, right? Wait and see on him?

I think i’m gonna flex Keenan over Boykin too. What do ya think?

  26. LestersLegends
    November 3rd, 2013 at 1:15 pm #

I would have played Sproles though Spiller is off to a better start. Keenan over Boykin isn’t a bad play.

Getting pasted by 50+ team points w/ Marshall left lol. Ouch. Went against the Brees (32), Graham (41), and AJ (61) monster games. Even with Sproles getting concussed on the first play of the game, or Spiller’s points on my bench, or missplaying my TE, would not have mattered. Just an ole fashioned buttkicking. The team i played will now be 9-0.
