2013 Fantasy Football RB Rankings – NFL Week 8

Oct 22, 2013

With another exciting week of football under our belts, here are the Lester’s Legends 2013 Week 8 fantasy football running back rankings.
1. Marshawn Lynch, Seattle Seahawks
Marshawn Lynch is averaging 107.9 total yards and a touchdown per game. He should remain in Beast Mode against the St. Louis Rams. The Rams are giving up 126.4 yards and a touchdown per game on the ground.
2. Jamaal Charles, Kansas City Chiefs
Jamaal Charles is averaging 128.3 total yards and 1.1 touchdowns per game. The Kansas City Chiefs face the Cleveland Browns this week. Even though the Browns have held opponents to 99 rushing yards per game this year, they have allowed nine rushing scores.
3. Frank Gore, San Francisco 49ers
Frank Gore is averaging 91 total yards and 0.7 touchdowns. He should dominate the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags have allowed 153.3 yards and 1.3 touchdowns per game.
4. LeSean McCoy, Philadelphia Eagles
LeSean McCoy is averaging 136 total yards and 0.4 touchdowns per game. He should have a strong game against the struggling New York Giants.
5. Knowshon Moreno, Denver Broncos
Knowshon Moreno is averaging 87.3 total yards and 1.1 touchdowns per game. The Denver Broncos look to get back on track against the Washington Redskins. The Skins have allowed 126.2 yards and 1.5 touchdowns per game.
6. Reggie Bush, Detroit Lions
Reggie Bush is averaging 121.8 total yards and 0.5 touchdowns. He should be heavily involved in a projected shootout with the Dallas Cowboys.
7. Eddie Lacy, Green Bay Packers
Eddie Lacy is averaging 110 total yards in his past three games. He’s a great complement to Aaron Rodgers in the passing game. Look for a strong game against the Vikings.
8. Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings
Adrian Peterson ran for 409 yards and a pair of touchdowns last year against the Packers . But the Vikings offense and offensive line havebeen so bad that he ‘s been mortal of late . He ‘s always a threat to put up a huge game, but he’s more of a risk than ever before.
9. Le’Veon Bell, Pittsburgh Steelers
Le’Veon Bell is averaging 79.7 total yards and 0.7 touchdowns through three games. He has faced the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens the past two weeks. Things ease up a bit this week as he faces the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders have allowed 99 yards and 0.8 touchdowns per game.
10. Alfred Morris, Washington Redskins
Alfred Morris is averaging 82.3 total yards and 0.5 touchdowns. The Denver Broncos have only allowed 77.1 yards per game, but they have yielded seven rushing scores.
11. Darren Sproles, New Orleans Saints
Darren Sproles could see even more looks against the Buffalo Bills if Jimmy Graham is sidelined. He’s averaging 80.7 total yards and 0.3 touchdowns. The Bills have allowed 123.6 rushing yards per game.
12. Darren McFadden, Oakland Raiders
Darren McFadden is averaging 68.8 total yards and 0.4 touchdowns. The bye week gave him time for his hamstring to heal. He should have a solid game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers just aren’t the same defensively. They have allowed 109.3 yard and a touchdown per game.
13. Jacquizz Rodgers, Atlanta Falcons
Jacquizz Rodgers had 62 total yards and a pair of touchdowns last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With the injuries the Atlanta Falcons are dealing with at receiver, I expect Rodgers to remain heavily involved.
14. Fred Jackson, Buffalo Bills
Fred Jackson is averaging 85 total yards and 0.7 touchdowns despite sharing the load with C.J. Spiller. Jackson should continue to see more looks against the New Orleans Saints due to Spiller’s ankle injury. The Saints have allowed 114 yards and 0.7 touchdowns per game.
15. Giovani Bernard, Cincinnati Bengals
Giovani Bernard is averaging 71 total yards and 0.6 touchdowns per game. BenJarvus Green-Ellis is still playing a significant role, but Bernard is the superior talent. That should show once against this week against the Jets. They have allowed just 77.7 yards per game, which keeps Bernard from a higher ranking.
16. Maurice Jones-Drew, Jacksonville Jaguars
Maurice Jones-Drew is averaging 54.1 yards and 0.3 touchdowns. He has a tough matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. They can be run on though as they have allowed 106.7 yards and a touchdown per game.
17. Stevan Ridley, New England Patriots
Stevan Ridley didn’t get much use in the early stages of last week’s game against the Jets. He does have three touchdowns in the past two weeks. He is averaging 4.1 yards per carry and has lost just one fumble. It’s unclear why he’s still in the doghouse. He’s a risky use against the Miami Dolphins. The Fins have allowed 102.8 yards and 0.8 touchdowns per game.
18. Lamar Miller, Miami Dolphins
Lamar Miller continues to split with Daniel Thomas, but I expect Miller will see more use against the New England Patriots this week. The Pats have allowed 127.1 and 0.6 touchdowns. Without Vince Wilfork or Jerod Mayo the Pats will continue to struggle stopping the run.
19. DeAngelo Williams, Carolina Panthers
DeAngelo Williams is averaging 91.2 total yards per game, but he has yet to reach the end zone. It’s unlikely he does this week against the Buccaneers as they have allowed just one score on the ground. D-Will should still have a solid day and is a RB2 during this heavy bye week.
20. Pierre Thomas, New Orleans Saints
Pierre Thomas is averaging 63.8 total yards and 0.3 touchdowns per game. He should also see plenty of use against the Bills.

Hey Lester; need waiver wire help. I’m sitting in 1st position for waiver order this week. These are top prospects available
    WR – H. Douglas. RB – C ivory /. m James / R Helu / D Brown / M Tolbert / B Bolden.
I’m good on WRs though Douglas is nice grab; Really hurting on RBs I currently have. Foster / Powell / Ellington / Jacobs – Bad right!
Please any help would be great

TRich is the biggest bust among all 1st round RB’s drafted. He has no value whatsoever. I’ve never seen a guy go from sugar to sh!t in such a short time. Thank God he’s on a bye this week. Sproles, Randle, Le’Veon? Gotta sit one. PPR.

DC – I already answered this in the Get Em or Don’t Sweat em. Here it is again – Go for James. If you can negotiate a deal with someone to let them get Douglas in exchange for a back, that could be the way to go.
BWP – Sit Randle. I have both Bell and Sproles as RB1 above.

    Hey Lester,

Trade questions. I have Jamaal, Forte, Ellington, Lamar Miller as RBs. No TE (FInley out) and DThoms, TYHilton, Roddy, RuebenRandle, Edelman, Hartline as WRs.

Someone proposed a trade of Heath Miller& Golden Tate for Forte. Do you believe I should counter offer FOrte for one of Jordy Nelson/Foster/CJ2K/Julius Thomas and if it is rejected try and find a TE from the waiver or should i keep Forte no matter what?

P.S> Who would you give for a trade for Gonzalez?

Hey Bear, I’m not trading Forte PERIOD. Especially for a TE2 and a WR3. That’s a joke offer. He’s worth a helluva lot more than that garbage. I’d be pi$$ed if someone came at me with that junk. Do they think you’re stupid? I might do Nelson/Julius. But then your RB core takes a hit.

Hi Ryan, In this league I always run 3 RB’s except for last week because of the bye and it hurt me. Can you tell me who you would sit. They seem pretty close in rankings.
RB: Lynch, Bell, DMC, Sproles (no clue, not Lynch or Bell)
WR: Dez, Blackmon, A. Brown (Brown?)
I’m hearing Graham is not playing this week. I don’t trust Weeden so I am worried about Cameron. Should I stick it out and hope the Chiefs D carries me, or go after Reed. Thanks!

With Demarco’s injury the best option I have at RB2 (unless I make a trade) is Roy Helu or Andre Ellington. Would you say that Helu has the biggest upside this week?

Yeah well that’s what i thought and just want to know if should counter or plain reject.

i’;ve had worse. Someone offer me MJD and Brandon Jacobs for Forte. lol

Are you crazy… I will never part with Forte now that Cutler is out! Pick up Reed off the WW, he’s going to be a low end TE1 watch. RG3 is looking for him.

i don’t want to part either. just wondering if maybe julius thomas of jordy basically are worthwhile counters

Ryan, that’s Le’Veon sorry, bad day.

bear – if you can get julius and jordy for forte do it. however, with that offer, it’s not likely they will part with a fair compensation considering the offer you received.
cardio – please eliminate obvious choices like lynch and dez when you’re asking who to start. they are all good options. i have brown slightly higher than blackmons, but both wr2s. all four backs are in the top 12. i have them all ranked out. If you want to go a different route, that’s fine. Your roster is stacked.

    Thanks for the replies,

It actually has come to point of Ellington for Heath Miller but now i am seriously considering Jordan Reed off the WW.

I realize I’m stacked. I was just trying to show you my problem. Brown isn’t doing well, I am trying to get a feeling if Pitt will run more than pass @ Oakland. Blackmon may be better at SF than Shorts. I know it’s early in the week.

    Reed for sure.

    October 22nd, 2013 at 11:43 am #

I wouldn’t consider it a problem. Brown isn’t scoring, but he’s averaging 7.8 catches for 91.3 yards per game. W

I take it you would take Decker, Boykin and Harry Doug over Cecil Shorts and Gordon this week based on rankings. What 2 RB’s would you start? Deangelo, Steven Jackson, Mike James (TB) or Lamar Miller?

  18. LestersLegends
    October 24th, 2013 at 7:43 am #

Yes, but those are good options.

RB I like D-Will and Miller. I like your options there too. I’m worried about Sjax injury and james (car d)

    (matthews and foster).
i can start three at a time….who should i start?
    A. peterson, jones-drew,d. wilson and mendenhall?
    who’s the odd man out?

who’s a better flex play – Josh Gordon @ KC or Gio Bernard against the Jets? Both have tough matchups.
