2013 Fantasy Football RB Rankings – NFL Week 6

Jamaal Charles running
.
With another exciting week of football under our belts, here are the Lester’s Legends 2013 Week 6 fantasy football running back rankings.
.
1. Jamaal Charles, Kansas City Chiefs
Jamaal Charles is averaging 129.4 total yards and a touchdown per game. He did nothing in two games last year against the Oakland Raiders, but this is a vastly different Kansas City Chiefs team.
.
2. Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings
Adrian Peterson is averaging 118.3 total yards and 1.5 touchdowns. The Minnesota Vikings are coming off a bye to face the Carolina Panthers. Matt Cassel at least gives the Vikings a threat in the passing game.
.
3. Matt Forte, Chicago Bears
Matt Forte is averaging 115 total yards and 0.6 touchdown. This week he’s facing the New York Giants. They have allowed 126 yards and a touchdown per game.
.
4. DeMarco Murray, Dallas Cowboys
DeMarco Murray is averaging 108.4 total yards and 0.4 touchdowns. He’s facing the Washington Redskins this week. They have allowed 142.3 yards and a touchdown per game.
.
5. LeSean McCoy, Philadelphia Eagles
LeSean McCoy is averaging 140 total yards and 0.6 touchdowns. This week he’s facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They have allowed just 94.3 yards per game, but Shady does damage in the passing game as well.
.
6. Marshawn Lynch, Seattle Seahawks
Marshawn Lynch is averaging 101.2 yards and 0.8 touchdowns per game. He’s facing the Tennessee Titans this week. They have allowed 103.2 yards per game.
.
7. Arian Foster, Houston Texans
Arian Foster is averaging 103.2 total yards and 0.4 touchdowns per game. This week he’s facing the St. Louis Rams. They have allowed 126 yards and a touchdown per game.
.
8. Reggie Bush, Detroit Lions
Reggie Bush is averaging 125.5 total yards and 0.5 touchdowns per game. This week he’s facing the Cleveland Browns. They have allowed a league-high eight rushing touchdowns.
.
9. Knowshon Moreno, Denver Broncos
Knowshon Moreno is averaging 91.6 total yards and 0.8 touchdowns. This week the running backs could see more work against the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars. They have allowed 160.6 yards per game.
.
10. Ray Rice, Baltimore Ravens
Ray Rice finally had a game worthy of his draft position with 102 total yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Miami Dolphins. This week he takes on the Green Bay Packers.
.
11. Doug Martin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Doug Martin has been a little disappointing, averaging 93.5 total yards with just one touchdown. He should get right this week against the Philadelphia Eagles. They have allowed 108 yards and 0.8 touchdowns per game.
.
12. Frank Gore, San Francisco 49ers
Frank Gore is averaging 86.4 total yards and 0.6 touchdowns. He has scored in consecutive weeks as the San Francisco 49ers have focused on running the football. This week they face the Arizona Cardinals. They have been tough against the run.
.
13. Trent Richardson, Indianapolis Colts
Trent Richardson is still averaging just 3.1 yards per carry, but has scored in two of three games with the Indianapolis Colts. He is facing the San Diego Chargers this week. They have allowed 117.2 yards per game at 4.9 yards per carry.
.
14. Le’Veon Bell, Pittsburgh Steelers
Le’Veon Bell scored a pair of touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings prior to last week’s bye. This week he faces the New York Jets.
.
15. Alfred Morris, Washington Redskins
Alfred Morris is averaging 79.5 yards and 0.5 touchdowns per game. As long as his ribs check out, he should be a solid option against the Dallas Cowboys.
.
16. Darren Sproles, New Orleans Saints
Darren Sproles is averaging 82.2 total yards and 0.4 touchdowns. If Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots try to slow Jimmy Graham, Sproles will benefit. Sproles has added value in point-per-reception leagues.
.
17. C.J. Spiller, Buffalo Bills
C.J. Spiller provided 66 yards and a touchdown on eight carries last week against the Cleveland Browns. He escaped without re-injuring his ankle. Plus, he’ll have extra rest when he faces the Cincinnati Bengals since the Buffalo Bills played on Thursday.
.
18. Fred Jackson, Buffalo Bills
Fred Jackson just won’t go away. He’s averaging 92.4 total yards and 0.8 touchdowns. He also had extra time to allow his injury (knee) to heal. Jackson should continue to receive a sufficient workload to allow him to be a viable RB2 option.
.
19. Eddie Lacy, Green Bay Packers
Eddie Lacy returned to run for 99 yards last week against the Detroit Lions. The Baltimore Ravens are tough against the run, but Aaron Rodgers will keep them off-balance.
.
20. Giovani Bernard, Cincinnati Bengals
Giovani Bernard is averaging 67.6 total yards and 0.6 touchdowns despite being limited to 11.8 touches per game. He’s averaging 4.6 yards per carry. BenJarvus Green-Ellis inexplicably averages 14.8 touches per game, which produces 43.6 total yards at 2.9 yards per carry. This week he faces the Buffalo Bills. They have allowed 116 yards per game.

I know the Jets run D is ranked 3rd right now, but how in the hell is Le’Veon Bell only projected out at 9ts PPR this week by the four-letter network? I find that odd myself. You have 3 of my RB’s all graded out the same. TRich (cough sucks cough), Sproles, and Bell. But i can only play 2 of them. My flex from here on out is Cobb, regardless of matchup, he starts over all those 3 RB’s. Who would you start. PPR. Am i crazy for wanting to sit TRich? (he plays SD at home whose run D is ranked 4th).

    Not crazy to sit TRich.

Ryan, I tried several times to reply under TE, but it won’t allow me. I’m hearing Bennett may not play on Thursday night due to a knee injury which is a problem since Gonzo is off. My only option is Cumberland or Heath, but Cumberland looks like he may have more upside now. Also, should I worry about RG3 this week? I have Vick in one league so I will wait since my only option is TP, even Freeman is off the WW if you can believe it. I have Rivers as an option, but can get Cutler in another. Lastly, I have the Chiefs D/S in 2 leagues, but need to replace the Rams with Colts, Cowboys, Browns or Pats. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

I’d expect Bennett to play against his former team. Miller isn’t a bad alternative. I’m not worried about RGIII. I have him as my #8 QB. Cutler at 6. None of those defenses do much for me. If I had to pick, I’d go Indy.

Other than the obvious choices can you give me some Defenses you think. I’m not seeing much available and the matchups are not in WW favor this week.

maybe look ahead at the matchups.

He Lester! Who should I start for Rb Cj Spiller, F Gore, M Forte, in my league we play two Rb. Gimme the reason why. What I know Arizona stops run and Cincy plays bill who are good against the run. Rob

Rob, you have options which are good problems to have. I’m sitting Spiller of these three. Gore, based on a run first offense, and Forte whose numbers have been there, and gets alot of targets outta the backfield. I tend to side with the RB’s who get the most looks and touches in this scenario. Which would be Gore and Forte. In the end, you’ll make up your own mind as to who to start. Good luck.

Can’t believe I’m asking this but could it make sense to start Danny Woodhead over Alfred Morris in PPR? So far it appears Alfred (ribs) will be a go but with Matthews out and Woodhead big in the pass game I’m questioning…. I know projections don’t mean much but Woodhead has him currently doubled and fantasypros likes him 65% more in PPR. Will learn more as week goes on but I feel this is worth discussing..

    Thanks

rob – forte is a no-brainer. you can’t sit him. CJ is still splitting carries and they have no threat at QB. He’s the guy I sit.
    BWP – thanks
JC – it’s not a bad play. i would go with morris though

sit jj. not a bad trade offer

  14. Dude
    October 8th, 2013 at 8:51 pm #

Hey bud, just wantin your opinion on a trade proposal. I need a rb badly and I think I could get Demarco straight up for Gordon. I have 3 receivers already and he has Julio so pull the trigger?

  15. LestersLegends
    October 8th, 2013 at 9:34 pm #

    I would make that deal

  16. Brandon
    October 9th, 2013 at 8:45 am #

Would you play Ridely or Bolden this week. I think the Patriots will be playing from behind against NO which means more pass catches for Bolden. This league is PPR!

    Thanks

    no

  18. frank
    October 9th, 2013 at 11:05 am #

PPR league for RB2…Stacy, Bolden, or Ellington…also do you see David Wilson having any value from here on out? I was looking to buy low on him.

  19. LestersLegends
    October 9th, 2013 at 11:35 am #

I am not giving up on Wilson. I like Stacy this week.

  20. frank
    October 9th, 2013 at 11:54 am #

what do you think about edelman for wilson?

  21. LestersLegends
    October 9th, 2013 at 12:11 pm #

That’s not a bad deal. Frank.
Brandon – Bolden is probably the choice in PPR.

  22. Joel
    October 9th, 2013 at 5:25 pm #

What two would you start at RB this week – Deangelo Williams, McGahee or Bilal Powell? Steven Jax hurt and Lamar Miller on bye and I traded Spiller, lol. Thanks.

  23. LestersLegends
    October 9th, 2013 at 7:26 pm #

    mcgahee and dwill

    October 10th, 2013 at 7:41 am #

Hey Ry…TRich @ SD, Sproles @ NE, Le’Veon @ NYJ. PPR league as you know. I’ve been wavering on which one to sit out of the three all friggin’ week long. Who would you sit?

  25. LestersLegends
    October 10th, 2013 at 7:54 am #

I would sit Bell, but I do have rank TRich higher than most.

  26. The Blair Walsh Project
    October 10th, 2013 at 8:12 am #

Also struggling with my TE, both hurt, and both questionable. Olsen or Bennett? If for some reason Bennett is a no-go tonight, which i guess is very possible, then obvious it’s Olsen. If Olsen can’t go Sunday when the inactive lists start coming out, is there any sleeper TE that might be on the WW you like? Pickings are slim as hell. McGrath from KC, Miller from Pitt, someone dropped Cook and Gresham and Pettigrew, all available. I need to have a back-up plan in case Olsen can’t go. I have him starting over Bennett as of right now.

  27. The Blair Walsh Project
    October 10th, 2013 at 8:27 am #

fantasypros has me sitting Bell, and it’s not actually close between TRich and Sproles.

Hey RL, thanks as always…your thoughts? RB isn’t pretty this week.
Dez, Cobb, Gordon, Shorts III, Hilton, Joique, Z Stacy, Ellington

    RB Joique
    RB Stacy
    WR Dez
    WR Cobb
    FLX Gordon

  29. LestersLegends
    October 10th, 2013 at 9:08 am #

    TBWP – I like Miller
Lofty – is the question two of three between joique, stacy, and ellington? If so that looks fine

  30. Lofty
    October 10th, 2013 at 11:08 am #

Pretty much…I guess I was trying to tempt you with Shorts III in lieu of Gordon?

  31. LestersLegends
    October 10th, 2013 at 11:38 am #

pretty close between shorts and Gordon. good options either way. Maybe you can deal one for a back

  32. DoubleT
    October 10th, 2013 at 1:27 pm #

I really want to start Fred Jackson but that would mean I sitting Gio . . . Does the matchup favor one over the other?

  33. Lofty
    October 10th, 2013 at 1:41 pm #

    Shorts for Ridley?

  34. LestersLegends
    October 10th, 2013 at 1:51 pm #

    lofty – I wouldn’t make that deal
Double T – they are close. if you want to play Fred, play him. I have Fred ranked higher

  35. Lofty

Danny-O….you’re good to go bro imho…Tough to sit VJax though. He burned the Eagles last season (six catches for 131 yards and a TD), and Philly’s secondary is weak. Eagles are allowing the most points to opposing wideouts by a significant margin (37 points allowed per game). But who knows what Glennon will do. ??? Big Question mark, especially coming off a bye. Good luck.
