2013 Fantasy Football TE Rankings – NFL Week 7

Oct 15, 2013

With another exciting week of football under our belts, here are the Lester’s Legends 2013 Week 7 fantasy football tight end rankings.
1. Vernon Davis, San Francisco 49ers
Vernon Davis has four touchdowns in the past three games and six on the year. He’s averaging 80.8 yards per game. With Jimmy Graham on bye, VD is the most explosive tight end this week. He’s facing the Tennessee Titans.
2. Julius Thomas, Denver Broncos
Julius Thomas has seven touchdowns on the season. Peyton Manning will look to him in the red zone against the Indianapolis Colts
3. Antonio Gates, San Diego Chargers
Antonio Gates is the primary option in an explosive passing attack. He has a good chance to find the end zone against the Jacksonville Jaguars. They have allowed 14 passing touchdowns already.
4. Jordan Cameron, Cleveland Browns
Jordan Cameron is averaging 76.7 yards and 0.8 touchdowns. The Cleveland Browns will have to throw the ball often to stay with the Green Bay Packers. Cameron should see plenty of targets.
5. Jason Witten, Dallas Cowboys
Jason Witten is averaging 56.7 yards and 0.5 touchdowns. Look for a big game against the Philadelphia Eagles. They have allowed 314.5 yards and 2.2 touchdowns per game through the air.
6. Tony Gonzalez, Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons have been decimated by injuries. Look for Tony Gonzalez to be more active against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He’s averaging 67.8 yards and 0.6 touchdowns.
7. Rob Gronkowski, New England Patriots
It appears that Rob Gronkowski will finally return this week against the New York Jets. He should be started, but I’ll cautiously rank him as a mid-level TE1 this week.
8. Martellus Bennett, Chicago Bears
Martellus Bennett is averaging 58.2 yards and 0.5 touchdowns. Playing on Thursday gave Bennett extra time to heal his knee before facing the Washington Redskins this week.
9. Jermichael Finley, Green Bay Packers
Jermichael Finley is averaging 45.6 yards and 0.4 touchdowns. He should play a larger role against the Cleveland Browns with the Green Bay Packers dealing with injuries at wide receiver.
10. Greg Olsen, Carolina Panthers
Greg Olsen is averaging 58.4 yards. He was quiet last week against the Minnesota Vikings. Look for him to get back on track this week against the St. Louis Rams.
11. Heath Miller, Pittsburgh Steelers
Heath Miller is averaging 63 yards per game. He has six catches in each of his past two games. Look for a busy day against the Baltimore Ravens.

Ry, i see you like Bennett a little better than Olsen this week. I have Bennett starting. I was wondering, between Bennett, Olsen, and Heath Miller, who do you like ROS? Would you drop either for Miller, or are they all about even?

Same tier. Matter of preference. Olsen is the most talented, imo

Bucs are saying really good things about Tim Wright. He may very well be a top-10 TE (especially in PPR) as long as Glennon is starting. Just throwing it out there. :)

Ryan I’m in a very competitive 12 team league 6 points per QB td no ppr.

Record 4-2 tied for 5th Place based on points.

    My Roster:
    Aj Green
    Deshawn Jackson
    Adrian Peterson
    Matt Forte
    Julius Thomas
    Mason Crosby
    Tennessee Defense
    Julian Edelman
    Zac Stacy
    Pierre Thomas
    Rueben Randle
    Brandon Jacobs
    Nick Foles

Green, Julius Thomas, Peterson all acquired through trades.

Demarco Muray and Joique Bell for AJ Green and Julius Thomas
Alfred Morris and Brady for Peterson

My question is even though Calvin is banged up is it worth bundling a bench player and AJ Green and trying to buy low or do I stay where i’m at? I have had a problem in the past with over trading that has cost me.

If you can get megatron without giving up too much, do it.

I have Vernon Davis and Julius Thomas, both who have bye week 9 and I’d like to stash a tight end this week to prepare for that. My question is, who do you think has better long term value between Jeff Cumberland and Timothy Wright?

    I’d go with Cumberland.

I’ve got Vernon Davis and Jordan Cameron in a 12 team PPR… Vernon Davis or Jordan Cameron for week 7? No worries about these two corners from Tennessee that are both ranked in top 10 this year?

Go with Cameron if you want. I have him as a 4th TE. I just like VD more. Why not trade one?

Sounds like Gronk will play, where do you rank him this week?

If you have him, you have to play him. I’d cautiously put him at 7.

    Olsen or Fleener in PPR?

    The one that’s ranked.

Thanks, just a little concerned that he didn’t look great last week and was again in the walking boot this week. I can see colts broncos being a shootout and fleener getting targets.

certainly a possibility. Olsen plays a bigger role in his respective offense. if your gut says fleener though, it’s not a bad play.

I can play te at the flex, so I have garcon on my bench and jordan cameron and rob gronk as te and flex. How do you think I should arrange this. I dont know if I should play garcon in the flex and play gronk at te or not, or cameron. I also have thomas and cruz as receivers.

I would play it safe with garcon over gronk personally
