2013 Fantasy Football WR Rankings – Week 3

Sep 17, 2013

With another exciting week of football under our belts, here are the Lester’s Legends 2013 Week 3 fantasy football wide receiver rankings.
1. Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions
Calvin Johnson shook off a slow start to torch the Arizona Cardinals for 116 yards and a pair of touchdowns. This week Megatron faces the Washington Redskins, who have allowed 621 yards and six touchdowns in two games.
2. A.J. Green, Cincinnati Bengals
A.J. Green is one of the best deep threats in the game. He is facing the Green Bay Packers, who have allowed 718 yards and six touchdowns through the air. The Cincinnati Bengals are going to have to open up their offense to hang with Aaron Rodgers and company.
3. Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons
Julio Jones has 258 yards and a pair of touchdowns. With Roddy White acting more like a decoy, Jones is on Matt Ryan’s radar. He is facing the Miami Dolphins, who have allowed 559 passing yards in two games.
4. Victor Cruz, New York Giants
Victor Cruz has 236 yards and three touchdowns through two games. He is Eli Manning’s first option. Cruz is facing the Carolina Panthers, who have allowed 587 passing yards.
5. DeSean Jackson, Philadelphia Eagles
DeSean Jackson has been a monster for the Eagles, racking up 297 yards and a pair of touchdowns already. He’s facing the Kansas City Chiefs.
6. Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys
Dez Bryant shook off a foot injury to drop 141 yards and a touchdown on the Chiefs. He’s facing the St. Louis Rams, who have allowed 661 yards and four touchdowns.
7. Brandon Marshall, Chicago Bears
Brandon Marshall has 217 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Matt Forte and Martellus Bennett are off to strong starts, which should open things up for Marshall. He’s facing the Pittsburgh Steelers.
8. Jordy Nelson, Green Bay Packers
Nelson has 196 yards and three touchdowns as one of Aaron Rodgers’ favorite targets. He’s taking on the Cincinnati Bengals.
9. Randall Cobb, Green Bay Packers
Randall Cobb has 236 yards and two touchdowns as a dynamic part of the Green Bay Packers’ offense. He’s taking on the Cincinnati Bengals.
10. Demaryius Thomas, Denver Broncos
Demaryius Thomas is a great threat, but the Denver Broncos have a number of weapons for Thomas to contend with. Nevertheless, he has 213 yards and two scores. He’ll make life difficult for the Oakland Raiders’ secondary.
11. Vincent Jackson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Vincent Jackson has 231 yards despite poor quarterback play from Josh Freeman. He should be tough against the New England Patriots.
12. Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals
Larry Fitzgerald has 113 yards and two touchdowns. His hamstring is also hurting. Fitz should be good to go in a favorable draw against the New Orleans Saints
13. Anquan Boldin, San Francisco 49ers
The Seattle Seahawks did a good job of keeping Anquan Boldin at bay. He has 215 yards and a touchdown. He should be more successful against the Indianapolis Colts.
14. Pierre Garcon, Washington Redskins
Pierre Garcon went off for 143 yards and a touchdown last week against the Green Bay Packers. He has 15 catches on the year. He’ll see a heavy workload against the Detroit Lions.
15. Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City Chiefs
Dwayne Bowe has 86 yards and a touchdown. He should easily build on those numbers against the Philadelphia Eagles, who have allowed 721 yards and five touchdowns through the air.
16. Andre Johnson, Houston Texans
Andre Johnson has 222 yards, but has yet to score. He suffered a concussion last week, which is cause for some concern. If he can go, he’s a decent play against the Baltimore Ravens, who Peyton Manning picked apart in the NFL opener.
17. Wes Welker, Denver Broncos
Wes Welker has 103 yards and three touchdowns. I would love to see what he could do with Peyton Manning without so many weapons around him. Regardless, he’s so shifty that he’s virtually impossible to cover. He’s taking on the Oakland Raiders.
18. Marques Colston, New Orleans Saints
Marques Colston has 131 yards and a touchdown. With Drew Brees at quarterback and Jimmy Graham driving defenses mad, Colston should have a nice game against the Arizona Cardinals.
19. Hakeem Nicks, New York Giants
Hakeem Nicks has 197 yards through two games. He’s a strong WR2 against the Carolina Panthers.
20. Julian Edelman, New England Patriots
Julian Edelman has caught 20 passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns. Danny Amendola will likely be out again. The rookie wide receivers are off to a rough start. Edelman should see a ton of targets against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
21. Steve Smith, Carolina Panthers
Steve Smith has 103 yards and a touchdown. The New York Giants have allowed 551 yards and four touchdowns.
22. Stevie Johnson, Buffalo Bills
Stevie Johnson has 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns as he has developed an early rapport with E.J. Manuel. He’s facing the New York Jets.
23. Mike Wallace, Miami Dolphins
Mike Wallace earned his keep last week, catching nine passes for 115 yards and a touchdown against the Oakland Raiders. This week he’s facing the Atlanta Falcons, who have allowed 693 yards and five touchdowns through the air.
24. Torrey Smith, Baltimore Ravens
Torrey Smith has 11 receptions for 177 yards. He’s facing the Houston Texans, who have allowed six passing touchdowns already.
25. Eddie Royal, San Diego Chargers
Eddie Royal is off to a blazing start with 114 yards and five touchdowns. He’s a solid play against the Tennessee Titans, who have allowed 443 yards and four touchdowns.

    Hey there,

As far as WRs i’ve got D. Thomas, Roddy White, Marlon Brown, Hartline, and TY Hilton. Would you drop Hilton for Royal and if couldn’t complete it would you drop him either way?

    Thanx in advance

    12-team PPR W/Flex:
For WRs I have Amendola, Garcon, B. Marshall, Andre Roberts, and Thompkins. For RBs, Spiller, Fred Jackson, Gore, D. Richardson and R. Matthews. Would you trade D. Richardson/Thompkins for Edelman and use him as a back up until Amendola gets back?

i would go bell if Bush doesn’t play. if he does, I’d go Decker

Hey there, what should I do with my 2nd TE in Fred Davis? I have Gates as my starter at the moment, but can pick up Winslow, both Eifert and Gresham in Cincy as well as Fred’s counter-part in Jordan Reed. I’m leaning towards Winslow, or do I stick with Fred? Thanks!

Who should I use for flex spot? Daryl Richardson vs Cowboys, Gio Bernard vs Packers, Ben Tate vs Ravens , or Greg Jennings vs Browns?

  17. LestersLegends
    September 18th, 2013 at 8:00 am #

FoSkins – I’d stick with Fred and just roll with Gates for the time being.
Jay – D-Rich. Bernard is tempting though.

Hey there, I have two solid rbs in Martin and Forte, but I can’t decide what 2 receivers and flex guys I should play. I have Torrey Smith, Antonio Brown, Emmanuel Sanders, Thompkins, Edleman, and Lamar Miller to choose from. Do I give up on Pittsburg wideouts? Do I continue to play Miller in the flex?

  22. LestersLegends
    September 18th, 2013 at 12:42 pm #

    Edelman, smith, miller

  23. Brandon
    September 18th, 2013 at 4:22 pm #

I have Spiller, Ridley, and McFadden at rb. I have V Jax, Garcon, Ant. Brown, and Cecil Shorts at wr. I can play either all 3 rb’s then 3 of the 4 wr’s. If so, which 3 wr’s do I play? Or I could play 2 rb’s with all 4 wr’s?

Your web site is fantastic, helped me to a championship last season. Thank you!

Question: Who would you start in a W/T flex position, Eric Decker, Eddie Royal, or Julius Thomas? I have Peyton Manning at QB and Jason Witten at TE. Thanks!

Lester! who would you pick between desean jackson or Dwayne Bowe?? im thinking Dwayne because of how many yards the eagles are allowing, however, i think desean has been doin pretty well, but chiefs have been doin pretty well with their passing defense… im torn.

I’m in 2 receiver league and I’m not sure that I trust Stevie Johnson as my 2nd receiver this week. Would you roll the dice and perhaps plug in Miles Austin, Vincent Brown or Marlon Brown in his place?

  37. LestersLegends
