2013 Fantasy Football WR Rankings – Week 4

Sep 24, 2013

Dez Bryant
With another exciting week of football under our belts, here are the Lester’s Legends 2013 Week 4 fantasy football wide receiver rankings.
1. Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys
Dez Bryant has scored in consecutive weeks, giving him 201 yards and a pair of touchdowns through three games. He’s facing the San Diego Chargers, who have allowed 340.7 yards per game.
2. Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons
Julio Jones is averaging 124.3 yards and a touchdown per game. He already has 27 receptions through three games. Even Bill Belichick will have his hands full trying to figure out a way for the New England Patriots to slow him down.
3. Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions
Calvin Johnson has 268 yards and three touchdowns, including 231 yards and a pair of scores in the past two games. The Chicago Bears are giving up 294.3 yards per game.
4. Brandon Marshall, Chicago Bears
Brandon Marshall has 269 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He’s facing the Detroit Lions, who have allowed 262 yards per game.
5. Demaryius Thomas, Denver Broncos
Demaryius Thomas remains Peyton Manning’s big play guy despite all of the quality weapons at his disposal. The Denver Broncos are taking on the Philadelphia Eagles, who have allowed 323 yards per game through the air.
6. A.J. Green, Cincinnati Bengals
A.J. Green has 249 yards and three touchdowns, but has a tough draw against Joe Haden. Of course, he had 135 yards and two touchdowns the last time the Cincinnati Bengals faced the Cleveland Browns.
7. Vincent Jackson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Vincent Jackson has 265 yards on the year, but has yet to get in the end zone as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have struggled. The Arizona Cardinals have allowed 891 yards and seven touchdowns.
8. Victor Cruz, New York Giants
I don’t know what happened to the New York Giants last week, but I expect Victor Cruz to help them bounce back. He has 261 yards and three touchdowns on the year. The G-Men take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
9. DeSean Jackson, Philadelphia Eagles
DeSean Jackson was “limited” to 62 yards last week. The Philadelphia Eagles had extra time to prepare for the Denver Broncos coming off the Thursday night game. Jackson has 359 yards and two touchdowns on the year.
10. Torrey Smith, Baltimore Ravens
Torrey Smith has 269 yards, but has yet to get in the end zone. The Buffalo Bills have allowed 262.3 yards and a pair of touchdowns per game.
11. Wes Welker, Denver Broncos
Wes Welker is nearly impossible to cover given his quickness, precise routes and Peyton Manning’s accuracy.
12. Antonio Brown, Pittsburgh Steelers
Antonio Brown erupted for 196 yards and two touchdowns against the Chicago Bears last week. This week they travel to London to face the Minnesota Vikings, who just got torched by Brian Hoyer, Josh Gordon and company.
13. Pierre Garcon, Washington Redskins
Pierre Garcon has 280 yards and a touchdown. Robert Griffin III’s favorite target should be heavily involved against a mediocre Oakland Raiders pass defense.
14. Julian Edelman, New England Patriots
Edelman has 27 catches for 201 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Atlanta Falcons have allowed 296 yards and 2.3 touchdowns per game through the air.
15. Anquan Boldin, San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers struggled once again, getting destroyed by the Indianapolis Colts a week after getting pounded by the Seattle Seahawks. Anquan Boldin had a decent game with 67 yards. The St. Louis Rams have allowed 288 yards and 2.3 touchdowns.
16. Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals
Larry Fitzgerald shook off a hamstring injury to finish with 64 yards. He has a date with Darrelle Revis this week, which limits his potential.
17. Marques Colston, New Orleans Saints
Marques Colston has been a model of consistency, finishing with 68, 63 and 71 yards in three games. He’s facing a Miami Dolphins team that is allowing 263.3 yards per game.
18. Eric Decker, Denver Broncos
Eric Decker has 252 yards and a touchdown, really bouncing back after a slow start with 220 yards in his past two games.
19. Stevie Johnson, Buffalo Bills
Stevie Johnson has 236 yards and a couple of touchdowns. He’s facing the Baltimore Ravens.
20. Mike Wallace, Miami Dolphins
Mike Wallace has been hot and cold, finishing with 15 and 22 yards in odd weeks and 115 yards in Week 2. This week he figures to have a larger workload as the Miami Dolphins face the New Orleans Saints.
21. Andre Johnson, Houston Texans
Andre Johnson (shin) is banged up, but he should be able to go. Unfortunately he’s facing a tough Seattle Seahawks team.
22. Josh Gordon, Cleveland Browns
Gordon shined in his season debut, piling up 168 total yards and a touchdown against the Vikings. This week he faces the Cincinnati Bengals
23. Cecil Shorts, Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars will likely get down big early, which will lead to a ton of pass attempts. That formula was in play last week as he finished with 143 yards despite a 45-17 loss. Shorts goes up against the Colts this week.
24. Reggie Wayne, Indianapolis Colts
Reggie Wayne has 205 yards and a touchdown. He’ll have to get his early as the Colts should put the hammer to the Jags, which will limit the passing attempts.
25. Kenbrell Thompkins, New England Patriots
Kenbrell Thompkins got things squared away enough to score a couple of touchdowns last week against the Bucs. This week he faces the Falcons.
26. Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City Chiefs
Dwayne Bowe was an afterthought last week against the Philadelphia Eagles. The New York Giants have allowed 253 yards and 2.3 touchdowns per game.

What, I can’t flex a TE? I’m trying to drop Cook to Cover for Graham when he’s on a bye. Steelers have been waiting on Bell, even though it’s across the pond you don’t think he’ll be a factor? I want to pick up a D and stick with it I was going to get the Chief’s, but you think the Colts? Elliott Harrison said to own the Chief’s D. Even though Jags played Seattle backups it wasn’t the blowout people predicted.

I don’t know your league settings. I wouldn’t trust Bell in his first game. Colts this week because of their matchup, but KC long term.

Who would you flex? Ridley is a waste of space lately. Hicks may be punished for his interview. I can flex Hartline if I get him or J. Bell, Wilson against the Chief’s… thoughts? TY!

    September 24th, 2013 at 10:07 pm #

    Probably Hartline

I have V Jax, Ant. Brown, Garcon, and Shorts at WR. I have McFadden, Spiller, and Ridley at RB. If I go all 4 wr’s and McFadden at rb, do I play Spiller or Ridley at the other rb spot?

What are your thoughts on Mike Williams? I have Jordy Nelson on bye in my other PPR league and he and Sanu are my only bench options at this point. Without typing all WR’s available do you think I may find more value wire?

  19. LestersLegends
    September 25th, 2013 at 1:06 pm #

I like Mike Williams. I think Tampa gets a shot in the arm from the QB switch.

Pick 2 for PPR…Edelman, Sidney Rice, Michael Floyd or Marlon Brown?

    September 25th, 2013 at 5:44 pm #

leonard hankerson or dwayne harris…. both are very low options i know, but its all i have to go with. im a cowboys fan, which i fear is interfering with my decision because i feel cowboys have a good matchup against san diego this week, but i think washington has a good game too…. what do you think?

  22. LestersLegends
    September 25th, 2013 at 7:05 pm #

    steve – edelman and brown
    dude – hankerson

Depends if Rice plays. If he does, I go Smith

    Lynch, Run DMC, Powell,
    Dez, A. Brown
Bench: Brady, Sproles, L. Bell, Blackmon, Cameron
    Rice, Murray, Powell
    DT, Hartline
Bench: RG3, Moreno, Wilson, Hicks, D. Hopkins, V. Davis
I sat Moreno due to a short week. Denver also spreads the ball around, please let me know what you think. Thanks!

Not bad. I would see about trading Cameron for a RB or WR in team 1.

    September 26th, 2013 at 2:44 pm #

I just picked him up for Cook so I can cover Graham when he’s on his bye. Once I get through that I can see what’s available, but their is no one I want to own now.

  28. LestersLegends
    September 26th, 2013 at 3:04 pm #

See if you can package him with brown for B marshall or Julio.

Which three WR should I start out of AJ Green, Desean Jackson, Anquan Boldin, Josh Gordon, and Vincent Jackson?
Which QB out of Staff or Matt Ryan?
Which TE out of Cameron and Witten?
Which DEF out of 49ers and Bengals?

  30. LestersLegends
    September 26th, 2013 at 7:32 pm #

green, jackson, and vjax based on rankings above

  31. JC
    September 27th, 2013 at 8:55 am #

Ok so looks like Mike Williams is 50/50 and my only other bench option that isn’t on bye is Mohamed Sanu.

Should I hold out and see if he plays? Or grab Stephen Hill, Santanio Holmes, Hankerson, Avery, etc..?

  32. LestersLegends
    September 27th, 2013 at 10:00 am #

I’d drop Sanu for Hill and have a backup plan if he’s out.

Do I start V Jax with a questionable tag next to him or go with either Ryan Broyles or Brandon Bolden?

  34. LestersLegends
    September 27th, 2013 at 9:10 pm #

I’d go VJax unless he’s ruled out.

  35. Dave

Should I go with Vjax or Decker as WR#2?

  36. LestersLegends
    September 28th, 2013 at 5:12 pm #

I like Jackson, but playing it safe with Decker isn’t a bad call.
