2016 Fantasy Football Top Five Rookie Running Backs

May 3, 2016

Ezekiel Elliott Draft
1. Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas Cowboys
Elliott lands in a wonderful spot. In 2014 DeMarco Murray led the way as the Cowboys ran for 2,354 yards on 4.6 yards per carry. He split and struggled in Philly, but the Cowboys still managed to get 1,890 yards on 4.6 ypc from the likes of Darren McFadden and others. Elliott should have no problem turning in a RB2 (or better) worthy rookie campaign.
2. Kenyan Drake, Miami Dolphins
Drake will begin as a change-of-pace back for the Dolphins, but could end up surpassing Jay Ajayi on the depth chart.
3. C.J. Prosise, Seattle Seahawks
Prosise will likely make his impact as a third-down back in 2016. That said, Thomas Rawls and Christine Michael aren’t exactly the caliber of Marshawn Lynch. Prosise could earn additional touches in a potent offense.
4. Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans
Henry would be number two with a bullet if the Titans hadn’t brought in Murray. He could still end up as the number two rookie back as Tennessee is looking to play smashmouth football.
5. Kenneth Dixon, Baltimore Ravens
Dixon landed in a good spot with Justin Forsett (30) as his primary competition. It wouldn’t be a reach for Dixon to turn in the second best rookie RB performance and venture into RB3 territory.
