Fantasy Basketball: Top 15 Fantasy Point Guards
Fantasy Basketball, NBA October 20th. 2009, 2:21pm1. Chris Paul – No explanation needed here.
2. Dwayne Wade – If he can stay healthy, he’s nearly as nasty as CP3 or LBJ.
3. Deron Williams – Will only get better this year.
4. Brandon Roy – Does it all. Scoring should go up even more with Andre Miller creating.
5. Chauncey Billups – Should be even better in a full year with Denver.
6. Steve Nash – The old guy still has some gas in the tank.
7. Jason Kidd – Ditto.
8. Jose Calderon – One of the game’s best passers.
9. Joe Johnson – Does it all.
10. Rajon Rondo – Does it all, but maturity is in question.
11. Derrick Rose – Will blossom this year.
12. Tony Parker – Still one of the hardest players to stay in front of.
13. Monta Ellis – Can score in bunches.
14. Devin Harris – Should continue to make a name for himself.
15. Baron Davis – Heath is always an issue, but he can ball.

Definitely CP3 is the top point guard, and you are right that no explanation is needed.
I’m particularly interested in how Rose does in his sophomore year with my Bulls as I agree he will continue to blossom.

I think he’ll take on more of a scoring load with Gordon gone.

First off, in standard leagues Wade, Roy and Johnson don’t even qualify as PG eligible. Secondly, where’s Arenas? He comes with a great deal of risk but when he was healthy he was a top 5 overall player in fantasy. He is certainly worth the risk over a player like Tony Parker who has very limited fantasy upside (low steals, threes, and FT%).

Leeroy – Actually in Yahoo! they are, which is a pretty standard format.
As for Arenas, he’s too much of a risk. I like his upside, but he gets hurt every single year.

bullshit, cuz like some people already said about Wade, Roy, and Johnson.
Also where’s Arenas, Miller, Iverson? of course if A.I. will play at Point Guard.

You can take Arenas. I want no parts of him. I like Andre Miller, but I put him below those guys, who despite what you say are PG eligible in a major fantasy basketball platform.

It’s clear by my rankings that I would take Deron Williams. He was second in the league in assists despite missing 14 games. He’s a decent scorer, rebounder, shoots at a good clip, both FT and FG, and picks up a steal a game.
I’d take Rose over Harris because I think Rose makes a nice leap this year.
