I’ve scoured the fantasy basketball waiver wires to find gems so you don’t have to.

Ryan Gomes, SF/PF, Minnesota Timberwolves
Gomes averaged 19.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steal, and 3.5 three-pointers last week. He shot 60.9 percent from the floor and 75.0 percent from the line. Gomes has scored in double-figures in his last six games. He’s owned in 29.0 percent of Yahoo! and 3.3 percent of ESPN leagues.

Corey Brewer, SG/SF, Minnesota Timberwolves
Brewer also played well for the Wolves. He’s actually a preferred choice over Gomes. Last week Brewer averaged 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.5 steals, and 2.0 three-pointers. He shot 44.4 percent from the field without missing a free throw. Corey is owned in 55.0 percent of Yahoo! and 30.3 percent of ESPN leagues.

George Hill, PG/SG, San Antonio Spurs
Hill has continued to play well even after Tony Parker’s return. Last week he averaged 20.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.7 steals, and 1.7 three-pointers. He shot 53.8 percent from the floor and 77.8 percent from the line. Hill is owned in 33.0 percent of Yahoo! and  10.3 percent of ESPN leagues.

Robin Lopez, PF/C, Phoenix Suns
Lopez averaged 13.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks while shooting 56.7 percent of his shot. He hit all of his free throws. Lopez’s numbers could rise if/when Amar’e Stoudemire gets dealt. Robin is owned in 41.0 percent of Yahoo! and 8.5 percent of ESPN leagues.

Here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players that blew up the box score last night.

D.J. Augustin, Charlotte Bobcats
Augustin had 13 points and 5 assists against the Hornets. He’s worth using in as a fill-in player in daily leagues, but doesn’t merit a roster spot in weekly ones.

Kris Humphries, New Jersey Nets
Kris had 14 points and 19 rebounds last night. He’s averaging 9.8 points and 10.0 rebounds in his last four games.

Jonas Jerebko, Detroit Pistons
Jonas had 20 points and 7 rebounds against the Nets. He’s inconsistent, but a decent plug-in play in daily leagues.

Brad Miller, Chicago Bulls
Miller had 13 points and 8 rebounds. The Bulls shut Joakim Noah down until after the All-Star Break, so Miller is a decent short-term play.

Ramon Sessions, Minnesota Timberwolves
Sessions had 19 points and 6 assists against the Grizzlies. He’s averaging 5.6 assists in his last five games so he has some use in daily leagues.

T.J. Ford, Indiana Pacers
Ford had 20 points against the Bucks. Look for him to begin playing more and regain some fantasy value as he gets healthy.

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, Milwaukee Bucks
Luc had 18 points and 11 rebounds. He’s now had back-to-back solid games.

Jerry Stackhouse, Milwaukee Bucks
Stack had 14 points and 6 rebounds. I’m just amazed that he’s contributing at his age. I wouldn’t add him though.

Ty Lawson, Denver Nuggets
Chauncey Billups was out, and Lawson filled in admirably with 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. With just two games before the All-Star Game, there’s a possibility Billups  could sit both games out, which would give Lawson a nice spike in value.

Chris Andersen, Denver Nuggets
You haven’t really heard too much from him lately, but his 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks were solid.  He had 15 boards the previous game against the Lakers, and is averaging 1.8 blocks in his last five games.

Shannon Brown, Los Angeles Lakers
Shannon had 19 points as Kobe Bryant missed a game. He too could be shelved until the All-Star Game, but given Kobe’s track record, I’m not sure that’s likely.

George Hill, San Antonio Spurs
Tony Parker is back, but Hill continues to play well. He had 22 last night. He’s averaging 19.2 over his last five games.

Here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players that blew up the box score last night.

Brandon Rush, Indiana Pacers
Rush had 16 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, and 2 three-pointers last night. He’s averaging 13.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.2 three-pointers in his last five games.

Carlos Delfino, Milwaukee Bucks
His point total (13) wasn’t great, but he chipped in with 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, and 2 three-pointers. He’s really been a nice find of late.

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, Milwaukee Bucks
Luc posted a solid line with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. Keep in mind that he faced the Knicks.

Ersan Ilyasova, Milwaukee Bucks
His 25 points and 9 rebounds should also be discounted because he faced the Knicks, but despite his recent struggles, Ersan has showed much more promise this year, and is a better fantasy option.

Ryan Hollins, Minnesota Timberwolves
Hollins had 15 points and 5 rebounds for the Wolves. In his last three games, all starts, Hollins is averaging 16.7 points. Minnesota has won each of those three games, so expect his role to remain. He’s  worth a spot start in daily transaction leagues if you’re looking for some scoring and field goal percentage (he shot 61.3 percent in those three games).

Rodrigue Beaubois, Dallas Mavericks
Beaubois had 17 points for the Mavs, but given his track record I’d hold off on adding him.

Donte Greene, Sacramento Kings
Greene dropped 31 on Phoenix. He added 7 rebounds. He’s pretty hit or miss, but is worth using in daily leagues.

This Week’s Topic:
The NBA trade deadline is just around the corner and soon so will be the one for most fantasy leagues, what general or specific trade advice can you give fantasy managers out there?

My Response:
First and foremost I am a proponent for two-for-one trades in which you get the best player in the deal. If you can package some of your depth to improve your starting lineup, by all means do so. You may lose a little flexibility in your lineup, but I rather have the loaded lineup.

Be cautiously aggressive. Don’t make a deal just to make a deal, but if you see a player you’d like to add, make a play for him. Don’t lowball too bad. If you insult your league mate’s intelligence, don’t expect a realistic counteroffer.

Be attentive. If someone is benching a player that you would like to add to your team, there’s a good chance he’s available. If they are tired of his inconsistency, but you see stability around the corner, make a play for him.

Don’t panic. Even if you can’t get a deal done, there’s plenty of time left in the year. Keep working the waiver wire and stay on top of injuries. The key is to stay one step ahead of your league.

Kris Humphries, New Jersey Nets
Humphries had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Nets. He’s averaging 11.4 points and 7.8 rebounds in his last five games.

Antoine Wright, Toronto Raptors
Wright had18 points and 7 rebounds. He gets a short-term boost with Hedo Turkoglu out.

Jarrett Jack, Toronto Raptors
Jose Calderon (ankle) is banged up again. Jack took advantage with 17 points and 9 assists.

Sonny Weems, Toronto Raptors
Weems had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the injury-riddled Raptors. He’s a bit too inconsistent for my tastes.

Nick Young and Andray Blatche, Washington Wizards
Young had 15 points while Blatche chipped in with 14 of his own. They did little else combining for 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block.

Nate Robinson, New York Knicks
Nate continues to play great. He had 23 points and 8 assists for the Knicks last night. He’s averaging 14.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.2 three-pointers in his last five games.

Marcus Thornton, New Orleans Hornets
Thornton did it again. This time he dropped 22 points with 6 assists. He’s averaging 19.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.0 steals, and 2.6 three-pointers in his last five games.

Eddie House, Boston Celtics
House had 16 points as Paul Pierce was  held out with a sprained foot. Not a bad game, but don’t rush out and get him. He’s just not worth it.

Drew Gooden, Dallas Mavericks
Gooden had 16 points and four rebounds. You must consider his opponent (Golden State) though.

Wesley Matthews, Utah Jazz
Matthews had 16 points for the Jazz. He’s a daily league fill-in at best.

DeJuan Blair, San Antonio Spurs
Blair’s been kinda quiet lately, but broke out with 20 points and 6 rebounds. He’s averaging 10.0 points and 7.8 rebounds over his last five games.

J.J. Hickson, Cleveland Cavaliers
Hickson had 15 points and 8 rebounds. He’s really inconsistent. He’d need an injury to a Cav big man to have value.

Marco Belinelli, Toronto Raptors
Belinelli had 21 points and 5 rebounds filling in for Hedo Turkoglu. He’s a short-term option while Hedo is out.

Earl Watson, Indiana Pacers
Watson had 15 points and 11 assists. His scoring is inconsistent, but he is averaging 6.2 assists in his last five games.

C.J. Watson,Golden State Warriors
Waston had 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists for the Warriors. He’s also very inconsistent.

Carlos Delfino, Milwaukee Bucks
Fresh off his appearance in the waiver wire bin Delfino put together another gem with 16 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.

Robin Lopez & Channing Frye, Phoenix Suns
It seems there’s room for both big me. Lopez had 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks while Frye added 20 points with 6 rebounds and 3 three-pointers.

Marcus Thornton & Darren Collison, New Orleans Hornets
These two were also featured in the waiver wire bin. Both will be asked to shoulder the load with Chris Paul out. Collison had 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 14 assists while Thornton had 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.

C.J. Miles, Utah Jazz
Miles came through in a big way with 17 points and 5 rebounds as the Jazz beat the Mavs. Miles is extremely inconsistent.

Jon Brockman, Sacramento Kings
Brockman had a double-double (11 points, 11 rebounds) for the Kings, but his good games are too few and too far between.

Ty Lawson, Denver Nuggets
Lawson had been quiet prior to his 15 point performance Monday night. His current value is tied to Chauncey Billups’ health.

Nicola Batum, Portland Trail Blazers
Batum had 15 points and 9 rebounds last night. He’s averaging 11.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in his last four games.

Hill had 17 points with four assists filling in for Tony Parker. He’s a decent short-term option.

DeAndre Jordan, Los Angeles Clippers
Jordan had 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Clippers, but hasn’t been productive enough to add.

Daniel Gibson, Cleveland Cavaliers
Gibson had 14 points and 6 assists. He’s been solid filling in for Mo Williams.

Jarvis Hayes, New Jersey Nets
Hayes had 18 points and 8 rebounds for the Nets. Until he proves he can repeat this kind of performance, don’t bother with him.

Luther Head, Indiana Pacers
Luther had 15 points with three three-pointers. He was playing well earlier in the year, but isn’t worthy of a roster spot right now.

Antoine Wright, Toronto Raptors
Wright had a decent game with 15 points and 6 rebounds. He’s played decent in his last three games and is worth monitoring.z

J.J. Redick, Orlando Magic
Redick had 17 points last night. He’s a decent source of points and three-pointers in daily leagues.

Jonas Jerebko, Detroit Pistons
Jerebko had 16 points and 9 rebounds. He’s been slow of late, but is worth keeping an eye on.

Jared Jeffries, New York Knicks
Jeffries really stuffed the box score with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 3 blocks, and 3 three-pointers. He’s really become a poor man’s Shane Battier.

Thabo Sefolosha, Oklahoma City Thunder
Thabo had 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals. Other than those steals he’s been pretty ordinary lately.

Grant Hill, Phoenix Suns
Hill had 19 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks. Looks like his heel isn’t bothering him anymore.

Darren Collison, PG, New Orleans Hornets
I’m sure you’ve heard the news that Chris Paul will miss a month or two following knee surgery. Collison should be at the top of everybody’s list. He had 17 points, 18 assists, and 6 rebounds in his first start for Paul. He’s owned in 31.0 percent of Yahoo! and 7.0 percent of ESPN leagues.

Mike Miller, SG/SF, Washington Wizards
Miller was at the top of his game last week averaging 15.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 3.0 three-pointers while shooting 52.8 percent from the field. He’s owned in 54.0 percent of ESPN and 41.0 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Arron Afflalo, SG, Denver Nuggets
Afflalo was solid last week averaging 12.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.3 steals, and 2.5 three-pointers. He shot 59.4 percent from the floor without missing a free throw. Carmelo Anthony is set to return, which will cut into his numbers, but he remains a decent player in daily transaction leagues. If J.R. Smith is dealt, his value should increase. Arron is owned in 15.0 percent of Yahoo! and 1.5 percent of ESPN leagues.

Marcus Thornton, PG/SG, New Orleans Hornets
Thornton has been heavy on the scoring of late, a trend that should continue while CP3 is sidelined. Last week he averaged 17.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 0.8 steals, and 2.3 three-pointers. He shot 46.3 percent from the floor and 92.3 percent from the line. Marcus is owned in 27.0 percent of Yahoo! and 5.5 percent of ESPN leagues.

Carlos Delfino, SG/SF, Milwaukee Bucks
Delfino is in the waiver wire bin once again. Last week he averaged 14.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.7 steals, and 2.0 three-pointers. He shot 54.8 percent from the floor and 80.0 percent from the line. Carlos is owned in 48.0 percent of Yahoo! and 26.9 percent of ESPN leagues.

Jared Jeffries, SG/SF, New York Knicks
Jeffries is a regular stat stuffer. Last week he averaged 11.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.8 steals, 1.5 blocks, and 1.5 three-pointers while shooting 62.1 percent from the floor. His only fault was making Shaq look like Mark Price with his 28.6 percent free-throw percentage. Jared is owned in 5.0 percent of Yahoo! and 0.7 percent of ESPN leagues.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports is reporting that Chris Paul will miss 1-2 months following surgery on the left knee he injured on Friday (click to see article).

Don’t drop CP3 just yet, as he might have value towards the end of the year. However, I urge you to head to your league right now to see if Darren Collison is available.
