It’s criminal Eugene that Simmons isn’t in the HOF.

I have to agree that Simmons should be the catcher. Compare his numbers to any catcher in the HOF and you’ll see he ranks in the top 10 in all offensive categories. Here’s hoping the Veteran’s Committee knows that in 2011.

Just to add, The Cards are alot like the Yankees and Red Sox with great players who might be all time greats if they were with other teams.

12 pitchers is how i’ve been doing these.
Ted Simmons is one of the best hitting catchers, even better than Torre.
Red leads him in virtually every category.
Curt Flood isn’t good enough.

1. 10 or 11 pitchers is more realistic.
2. Joe Torre should start as catcher with Tim McCarver as reserve.
3. Frankie Frisch should be a reserve at 2B rather than Red.
4. Curt Flood should be a reserve outfielder.
