Blake Griffin Out Up to Six Weeks

Oct 27, 2009

Blake Griffin

The Clippers just can’t catch a break.  Well, they can, but not the good variety.  #1 overall pick Blake Griffin is out up to six weeks after fracturing his patella.  Griffin appeared ready to contribute right away so this setback is devastating.

Chris Kaman and DeAndre Jordan get a nice bump in their fantasy values.  Eric Gordon and Baron Davis will likely shoulder more of the scoring load, which makes them more attractive fantasy options.

If you drafted Griffin, the season is not a lost cause for you.  He’ll likely miss around 15-20 games or so.  He’s young so he should be able to bounce back fairly quickly and not take too long to get into shape.

If I’m Jeff Van Gundy or the Suns Gorilla, I’m a little nervous as both Love and Griffin have been hurt.

Man, I was looking forward to Griffin’s contributions to the Clippers since he’s the best basketball player to come out of Oklahoma in a long time. I agree that he’ll get it going on the season after 15 or so games. He does have strong work ethic which will serve him well.

    Hopefully he’s a fast healer.
