Brett Favre and the Vikings to Talk

May 5, 2009

I hate to even talk about this until something happens, but living in the area made me feel obligated to do so.  ESPN is reporting that Brett Favre will talk to Minnesota Vikings’ Coach Brad Childress about the possibility to Brett would retire once again and take over the starting job for the Vikings.

He would be an immediate upgrade over Sage Rosenfels and Tarvaris Jackson, but I’m not sure he would fit into Brad’s dink and dunk system.  Especially when you consider they are run first with their pair of outstanding backs in Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor.  If he’s healthy both mentally and physically the Vikings would be the team to beat in the NFC North.  Speaking of the NFC North.  If this deal did go down, Sugar Ray Leonard, I mean Brett Favre would face his former mates twice a year, giving him ample opportunity to exact some revenge on the Packers.

Until he takes a snap during the regular season, I will have my doubts that Favre will return.  One thing is for certain.  This situation will annoy me until it’s resolved.  Either say yes or give a definitive no and be done.
