Brett Favre Needs Ankle Surgery To Play in 2010

Apr 30, 2010

ESPN
is reporting that Brett Favre will need to undergo ankle surgery if he wants to suit up for the Minnesota Vikings in 2010.

Favre, who turned 40 last year, injured his ankle in the loss to the Saints in the NFC Championship. He played through the injury and you know how the story ended.

Favre is not a fan of surgeries, but did have a procedure done on his biceps last year in order to play. He turned in one of the finest seasons of his Hall of Fame career. In his favor, Favre would likely miss training camp, something he’s also not fond of, should he have his ankle taken care of.

If Favre choices to return, which most people assume, the Vikings will remain one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl. Favre will likely be a top   10 fantasy QB.

For the 1st time I think Favre just might be finished, Even if he chooses to have the Surgery he seems to be breaking down and I could see him having more injuries during the season as other teams know he csn now be knocked around.

I think Brett has another year in him. He just likes the hype to build.

I always have thought that, But I am just not sure. If he has the Surgery he will come back and play this year, But I am afraid it could end badly, Much worse than the season with the Jets, I would hate to see that.

Maybe. I think that was a freak injury brought on by dirty play by the Saints.

Could be but I am afraid that many teams will be hitting him late Early on they have the Saints, Jets and Packers all of who I can see going after him hard with borderline late hits and even if they throw flags some teams might risk it to knock him out.

You could be right, but I’m not sure they want to expose Brees, Sanchez, and Rodgers like that. Turnaround is fair play. Jared Allen isn’t above getting fines for questionable hits.
