Bucks Deals Richard Jefferson to Spurs

Jun 23, 2009

ESPN is reporting that the San Antonio Spurs landed Richard Jefferson from the Milwaukee Bucks for Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas and Fabricio Oberto.  No word if a crate of basketballs and some gym shoes were included.

Jefferson gives the Spurs some more firepower, who had a disappointing season by their standards.  Teaming with Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili give the Spurs a better chance to challenge the Champion Lakers.

Milwaukee had dollar signs in their eyes for this trade.  They are clearing $15 million of the books.

Saw one guy compare this to the Lakers getting Gasol.

I read the same thing, I think losing Bowen is big since he is their defensive stopper. I read on CNNSI I think that the Bucks will release Bowen and he will resign with San Antonio. If that goes down, then this will make them an awesome team and I can’t wait to see them matched up against the Lakers or Nuggets.

Yeah, that would be great if he came back.
