Now that the NFL draft is behind us we can start exploring the 2013 fantasy football kicker landscape.
.
1. Stephen Gostkowski, New England Patriots
Gostkowski led the NFL last year with 153 points. He was third in 2011 with 143 points. The Patriots figure to have a potent offense once again. Gostkowski should be in line for another banner season.
.
2. Matt Bryant, Atlanta Falcons
Bryant finished second in the league with 143 points. He’s been in the top ten in each of the past three seasons. The addition of Steven Jackson should make the Falcons even more powerful.
.
3. Blair Walsh, Minnesota Vikings
Walsh finished fourth in the league with 141 points. He nailed 10 field goals from 50 yards and beyond. He led the NFL as a rookie with 35 field goals.
.
4. Matt Prater, Denver Broncos
Prater finished seventh in scoring with 133 points. Peyton Manning really made a difference in the Broncos’ offense. They should be even better this year with Wes Welker on board.
.
5. Alex Henery, Philadelphia Eagles
Henery finished 16th and 20th in scoring in his two seasons. My expectations are high for him as I feel their offense will be explosive under Chip Kelly.
.
6. Justin Tucker, Baltimore Ravens
Tucker finished eighth in scoring as a rookie. He made 14 field goals from 40 yards and beyond. He was perfect in the postseason and should be among the best kickers in 2013.
.
7. Sebastian Janikowski, Oakland Raiders
Janikowksi has kicked at least 30 field goals in each of the past three seasons. He has 59 field goals of 50 yards and beyond since 2006.
.
8. Dan Bailey, Dallas Cowboys
Bailey finished 10th in scoring with 124. He finished fifth in 2011 with 135 points. With 61 field goals in two seasons he is a strong bet in 2013.
.
9. Lawrence Tynes, New York Giants
Tynes finished second in the league with 145 points. His 33 field goals were tied for second in the league.
.
10. Phil Dawson, San Francisco 49ers
Dawson scored 116 points last year for the Cleveland Browns. The 49ers should provide him many more opportunities.

Here’s a look at the LestersLegends’ Super Bowl XLVII fantasy football kicker rankings.
.
1.  Justin Tucker, Baltimore Ravens
Tucker is a rookie so it feels weird trusting him more than the veteran, but that has been the way this season has gone. Tucker made 90.9 percent of his field goals this year, including four from 50 yards or better. Tucker made both of his playoff field goal attempts, including the 47-yard game winner over the Denver Broncos to send Baltimore to the AFC Championship Game.
.
2.  David Akers, San Francisco 49ers
Akers, on the contrary, struggled mightily this season missing 13 or 42 field goal attempts for a 69 percent field goal percentage. Akers missed his lone field goal attempt in the NFC Championship Game. I just don’t have as much faith in Akers in the Super Bowl.

Here are the Lester’s Legends kicker rankings for the  the AFC and NFC Conference Championship Games of the 2012-13 NFL Playoffs.
.
1.  Stephen Gostkowski, New England Patriots
Gostkowski led the NFL in scoring with 29 field goals and 66 extra points. He had a pair of field goals and five extra points. New England is the league’s top scoring offense so Gostkowski should continue to put point on the board. The Baltimore Ravens allowed a league-high 37 field goals during the regular season along with 31 extra points. They have allowed three field goals and five extra points in their two playoff games.
.
2.  David Akers, San Francisco 49ers
Akers shrugged off the competition with Billy Cundiff and the 13 missed field goals on the year to make his lone field goal attempt and six extra points in the win over the Green Bay Packers. He will be kicking in a dome this week which, in theory, should help his chances. The Atlanta Falcons allowed 27 field goals and 30 extra points in the regular season.
.
3.  Justin Tucker, Baltimore Ravens
Tucker finished the regular season eighth in scoring with 30 field goals and 42 extra points. He has a pair of field goals and eight extra points in two playoff games. The New England Patriots allowed 21 field goals and 38 extra points during the regular season and two field goals and two extra points in the win over the Houston Texans.
.
4.  Matt Bryant, Atlanta Falcons
Perhaps Matt Bryant is the new Matty Ice after he shrugged off Pete Carroll’s attempt to ice him on last week’s game-winning field goal attempt. Bryant drilled it, along with two other field goals and three extra points. On the season he finished third in the NFL in scoring with 33 field goals and 44 extra points. The 49ers allowed 22 field goals and 27 extra points during the regular season.

.
1. Stephen Gostkowski, New England Patriots
Gostkowski led the NFL in scoring with 29 field goals and 66 extra points. The Houston Texans allowed 21 field goals and 38 extra points.
.
2. Shayne Graham, Houston Texans
The Texans have been moving the chains, but have had their drives stall. Graham has 14 field goals in his past four games. Early on against the Patriots, I expect that trend to continue. New England allowed 21 field goals and 38 extra points.
.
3. Matt Prater, Denver Broncos
Prater finished with 26 field goals and 55 extra points. The Baltimore Ravens allowed a league-high 37 field goals and 31 extra points.
.
4. Justin Tucker, Baltimore Ravens
Tucker finished with 30 field goals and 42 extra points. The Broncos allowed 22 field goals and 29 extra points.
.
5. Ryan Longwell, Seattle Seahawks
I like the situation Longwell finds himself in. He could be a little rusty, but Seattle should give him scoring chances.
.
6. Matt Bryant, Atlanta Falcons
Bryant was third in the league in scoring with 33 field goals and 44 extra points. The Seahawks allowd 23 field goals and 24 extra points. Their defense allowed the fewest points in the league. Bryant is riskier than usual.
.
7. David Akers, San Francisco 49ers
Akers missed 13 field goals this year. Billy Cundiff was brought in so there is a chance that Akers doesn’t kick this weekend.
.
8. Mason Crosby, Green Bay Packers
Crosby has had his issues, missing a dozen field goals on the year. He has been solid of late, but he is a slight risk. The 49ers allowed 22 field goals and 27 extra points.

Here are the Lester’s Legends fantasy football kicker rankings for the Wild Card Round.
.
1. Blair Walsh, Minnesota Vikings
Walsh led the Wild Card kickers in scoring with 35 field goals and 36 extra points. He has the leg and accuracy to drill the long field goals. The Green Bay Packers allowed 26 field goals and 34 extra points.
.
2. Justin Tucker, Baltimore Ravens
Tucker was third among Wild Card kickers in scoring with 30 field goals and 42 extra points. The Indianapolis Colts allowed 32 field goals and 39 extra points.
.
3. Steven Hauschka, Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks’ offense is on fire. Hauschka finished with 24 field goals and 46 extra points. The Washington Redskins allowed 28 field goals and 36 extra points.
.
4. Mason Crosby, Green Bay Packers
Crosby made 21 field goals and 50 extra points. He made all four of his field goals in his past two games, including a 48-yarder and a 51-yarder. His confidence should be improved. The Vikings have allowed 25 field goals and 33 extra points.
.
5. Shayne Graham, Houston Texans
Graham was second among Wild Card kickers in scoring with 31 field goals and 45 extra points. The Cincinnati Bengals have allowed 27 field goals and 33 extra points.

Vinatieri finished with 26 field goals and 37 extra points. The Baltimore Ravens allowed more field goals (37) than any other Wild Card team.

Forbath finished with 17 field goals and 33 extra points. The Seahawks allowed 23 field goals and 24 extra points.
.
8. Josh Brown, Cincinnati Bengals
