.
There were some unusual heroes on Sunday. There always are. Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.
.
QBs
Ryan Fitzpatrick, Buffalo Bills
Fitzpatrick had a great game throwing 3 TDs vs. the Jags, but a quick look at next week’s schedule and you’re staring at a bye and then Baltimore. Then he heads to Kansas City, who made Peyton Manning look mortal. Maybe he has some use in five weeks against Detroit, but there is no need to carry him that long.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
David Garrard, Jacksonville Jaguars
Fitzpatrick’s counterpart had 3 TDs of his own. He too has a tough schedule coming up (vs. TEN, @ KC, @ DAL) before a nice match-up with Houston. Too long to hold onto him without a use for him.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Shaun Hill, Detroit Lions
He’s probably a decent spot start against the Giants if he gets the nod. He had331 yards and 2 TDs in Week 4 and 227 yards and 3 TDs this week against St. Louis. If you need a QB, grab him, but know it’s a short-term solution.
Ruling:  Get ‘em

There were some unusual heroes on Sunday. There always are. Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.
.
QBs
Ryan Fitzpatrick, Buffalo Bills
Fitzpatrick gives the Bills some hope, but he’s not ready for fantasy squads despite throwing a pair of TDs and running for 74 yards. He only managed 128 yards in the air.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Shaun Hill, Detroit Lions
Hill had a big game against the Packers throwing for 331 yards with 2 TDs and 2 INTs. He added 53 on the ground. He has a nice match-up against St. Louis next week, assuming Stafford isn’t ready to go. If he isn’t, Hill is a solid play next week.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
Sam Bradford, St. Louis Rams
He’s making me a believer. Bradford has thrown a TD pass in every game, including two in a win over Seattle. He threw for 289 yards. He’s a solid play against Detroit next week, and is a solid QB2 going forward.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
David Garrard, Jacksonville Jaguars
Garrard completed 17 of 22 passes for 163  yards and 2 TDs. He added 44 yards and a score on the ground. He has a decent match-up next week against Buffalo if you’re needy at the QB position, but he’s yet to reach 175 yards in a game this year.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Kevin Kolb, Philadelphia Eagles
Kolb didn’t look great (22 for 35, 201 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) but will get his starter gig back if Vick can’t go.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
RBs
Correll Buckhalter, Denver Broncos
Buck had just six carries for three yards, but added five catches for 38 yards and a score. He’s a decent option for PPR leagues, but has little value once Knowshon Moreno returns.
Ruling:  Get ‘em (PPR), Don’t Sweat ‘em (non-PPR).
.
Derrick Ward, Houston Texans
Ward took advantage of the start by running for 80 yards and a 33 yard score. Foster had another monster day. Ward can be added as an insurance policy, but during the bye weeks you may not have a roster spot.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Ryan Torain, Washington Redskins
Torain had 70 yards and a score on 18 carries. Clinton Portis hurt his groin in the game. Torain will get the start if Portis can’t go.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

We always weigh in early on waiver wire Get ‘em or Don’t Sweat ‘em pick-ups. There are, however, some more options based on injuries and such. Here are some additional options to consider.
.
Davone Bess, WR, Miami Dolphins:  The Patriots have struggled to stop the pass this season. Bess had 16 catches for 173 yards and a score against them last year. He makes a decent spot start this week if you have issues at WR.
.
LeGarrette Blount, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers:  Cadillac Williams is not producing like we expected him to (139 yards, 2.5 ypg, 0 TDs). Meanwhile Blound had six carries for 27 yards and a score against the Steelers. The Bucs are on bye this week, which should help your chances of landing him.
.
Kenneth Darby, RB, St. Louis Rams:  Steven Jackson’s groin could force him out of action against Seattle. There won’t be a mad dash for Darby like there was a couple of weeks ago for Brandon Jackson following Ryan Grant’s injury, but he could be a starting RB if you were hurting.
.
Aaron Hernandez & Rob Gronkowski, TEs, New England Patriots:  With Witten, Shiancoe, Winslow, and the surprising Tony Moeaki on bye this week, the Patriots’ TE duo make interesting plays against Miami. Hernandez is the yardage guy (211 yards), and the one to target first. He could possibly stick around on your roster depending on your TE situation. Gronkowski is the TD threat (2 TDs).
.
Laurence Maroney, RB, Denver Broncos:  If Knowshon Moreno is unable to play again look for Maroney to get the lion’s share of the work in the running game against Tennessee. He’ll still be in a time share with Correll Buckhalter so temper your expectations.
.
Willis McGahee, RB, Baltimore Ravens:  Ray Rice is banged up. He could miss the Steelers game. It’s far from a dream match-up if McGahee gets the start, but in bye weeks sometimes you’re desperate.

There were some unusual heroes on Sunday. There always are. Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.
.
QBs
Matt Cassel, Kansas City Chiefs:  He had more yards today (250) than he had in his first two games combined (244). He had three TD passes. They face the Texans in two weeks, which may be a sneaky bye week play.
Ruling:  Get ‘em (if your QB is on bye in Week 5)
.
Ryan Fitzpatrick, Buffalo Bills:  Fitzpatrick threw for 247 yards with 2 TDs and 2 INTs vs. New England. He added 18 yards in the ground, but I’m not ready to trust him. Only pick him up in deep 2-QB leagues.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Charlie Batch, Pittsburgh Steelers:  Batch came up big for the Steelers with 3 TD passes, but he’s not worth adding. They play Baltimore next week, and then Big Ben returns after the bye.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
RBs
BenJarvus Green-Ellis, New England Patriots:  The Law Firm ran for 98 yards and a score. Fred Taylor was ineffective. The Pats’ RB situation is always a tricky one. If you’re hurting at RB though, he’s worth a shot.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
WRs
Dexter McCluster, Kansas City Chiefs:  He is an electric playmaker, but he doesn’t get enough touches to be a solid fantasy play despite his 69 yards and 31 yard TD.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Lance Moore, New Orleans Saints:  My guess is he’ll be a hot commodity on the waiver wire after catching six passes, two of them TDs, for 149 yards. I’m not going to say leave  him, but do realize the Saints are pretty inconsistent spreading the ball around. The again, with Reggie Bush out, he could be Brees’ safety net.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
Brandon Lloyd, Denver Broncos:  Lloyd’s six catches for 169 yards and a score may have come as a surprise, but he had eight catches for 170 yards in Denver’s first two games. Clearly he’s a big part of Denver’s offense.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
TEs
Tony Scheffler, Detroit Lions: He had a big day (7 catches, 60 yards, TD), but the Vikings struggle to contain TEs. Last week it was Pettigrew getting the looks. This may just be a situation to avoid both players.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Benjamin Watson, Cleveland Browns:  Watson caught five passes for 47 yards and a score against Baltimore. He’s a decent TE2 for the bye weeks.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

There were some unusual heroes on Sunday. There always are. Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.
.
QBs
Josh Freeman, Tampa Bay Buccaneers:  Freeman only completed half of his 24 passes, but had 178 yards and 2 TDs. He added 43 on the ground. He isn’t a fantasy starter, but he’s rock solid in 2-QB leagues and a decent QB2.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
Kerry Collins, Tennessee Titans:  Collins replaced Vince Young and threw for 149 yards with a TD and a pick. VY will likely get the start next week.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
.
Shaun Hill, Detroit Lions:  Hill picked apart the Eagles to the tune of 335 yards with 2 TDs and 2 INTs. He showed he’s worthwhile in 2-QB leagues while Stafford is on the mend.
Ruling:  Get ‘em (2-QB leagues), Don’t Sweat ‘em (Standard leagues)
.
RBs
Jason Snelling, Atlanta Falcons:  Michael Turner left with a groin injury. Snelling did his Arian Foster impression with 186 total yards (129 rushing) and 3 TDs (2 rushing, 1 receiving). If Turner can’t go next week, Snelling could be a monster.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
Peyton Hills, Cleveland Browns:  Hillis was a popular add last week, but if your league slept on him, he’s a must add. He had 35 yards and a score, adding three catches for 26 yards.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
Mike Tolbet, San Diego Chargers:  Ryan Mathews left with an ankle injury and Tolbert responded with 95 total yards (82 rushing) and 2 TDs. He’s also one of the top players to grab off the wire this week.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
.
Donald Brown , Indianapolis Colts:  It’s easy to say Brown’s 16 carries for 69 yards and a score were because of the Colts’ margin of victory, but don’t forget Brown scored the first touchdown.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

There were some unusual heroes on Sunday. There always are. Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.

Chad Henne, QB, Miami Dolphins
Henne threw for 349 yards against Tennessee, and is a decent desperation play next week against Houston. Odds are you have a safer option though.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Matt Moore, QB, Carolina Panthers
Moore tossed three TDs and nearly 300 yards against the Vikings. I would consider him in 2 QB leagues, more because of Steve Smith’s play than Matt’s.

Maurice Morris, RB, Detroit Lions
Morris had 161 total yards and a score against Arizona. He has a tough match-up in San Francisco next week, but is worth grabbing and using in a pinch.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Jerome Harrison, RB, Cleveland Browns
Obviously a guy who rumbled for 286 yards and 3 TDs is going to command some attention. With Oakland on tap next week, he could be in store for another big game.
Ruling: Get ‘em.

Michael Bush, RB, Oakland Raiders
Bush destroyed the Broncos with 133 yards and a score. He has a juicy match-up next week against the  Browns, but you never know which Raider Back is gonna get the ball. If you are in a pinch, roll with Bush.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Brian Hartline, WR, Miami Dolphins
The final numbers looked solid (2 catches, 96 yards), but they were aided by a fluke catch.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Mark Bradley, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
Bradley had 52 yards in a score, but he’s the fourth option at best with Jamaal Charles, Chris Chambers, and Dwayne Bowe ahead of him.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Demetrius Williams, WR, Baltimore Ravens
Williams had four catches for 71 yards and a score. He hadn’t done much prior to this game though, so don’t bother with him.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Josh Morgan, WR, San Francisco 49ers
Morgan had 61 yards and a score against the Eagles. He’s averaging 5.5 catches in his last four games, and with Detroit up next week, is worth considering.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Mike Wallace, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
Wallace caught a pair of TDs against the Packers, but is a shaky play next week against Baltimore.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

David Thomas, TE, New Orleans Saints
Thomas caught eight passes for 77 yards. It was just his second game of the year over 50 yards and, with just 1 TD on the year, is not a player I’d gamble on in a fantasy football championship game.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

J.P. Foschi, TE, Cincinnati Bengals
Foschi had seven catches for 82 yards, but the Chargers are fantasy friendly to Tight Ends. Don’t waste your time with him.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

There were some unusual heroes on Sunday. There always are. Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.

Kerry Collins, QB, Tennessee Titans
Collins replaced Vince Young and played well enough. He wasn’t really a fantasy factor last year when he had the Titans rolling. Don’t bother with him unless you’re in a 2-QB league and he’s your only option.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Ryan Moats, RB, Houston Texans
Moats was Houston’s best RB today running for 43 yards on ten carries with a TD. The Texans are a passing team first and foremost, and with Chris Brown and Arian Foster in the mix, you just can’t rely on any Texan RB in the fantasy playoffs.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Willis McGahee, RB, Baltimore Ravens
Willis had 76 yards on 12 carries with a pair of TDs. They came in garbage time though, as the Ravens destoryed the Lions. He has four TDs in his last three games making him a risky flex play next week against the Bears. I’d look elsewhere personally.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Quinton Ganther, WR, Washington Redskins
Ganther ran for a couple of TDs against the Raiders with 93 total yards. The Skins are actually scoring some points and he could be used as a flex play the next couple of weeks against the Giants and the Cowboys.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Greg Camarillo, WR, Miami Dolphins
He has 11 catches for 171 yards the past two weeks, including seven for 110 in a win of Jacksonville. With Tennessee and Houston up next, Camarillo could be a decent desperation option.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Johnny Knox & Devin Aromashodu, WRs, Chicago Bears
They both played well this week as Devin Hester (calf) was out. They play Baltimore and Minnesota the next two weeks so they aren’t attractive options going forward.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Michael Jenkins, WR, Atlanta Falcons
He’s had 76, 80, and now 82 in the last three games he’s played in (he missed Wee, 13 vs. Philly). The Falcons play the Jets next week, and he could be a decent play as Darrelle Revis focuses his attention on Roddy White.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
