Hall of Fame Yardsticks:

Black Ink: Batting – 1 (722) (Average HOFer ≈ 27)
Gray Ink: Batting – 59 (414) (Average HOFer ≈ 144)
HOF Standards: Batting – 24.9 (433) (Average HOFer ≈ 50)
HOF Monitor: Batting – 84.5 (199) (Likely HOFer > 100)

I don’t know what’s worse, his career numbers or his Hall of Fame yardsticks.  I know that together they suggest that he does not belong in the Hall of Fame with the likes of Babe Ruth and Ted Williams. He did play on three New York Giant World Series teams.  That must have helped his cause.  His glove may have been a factor as well as he set a record with 984 chances at SS in 1922.  He also lead the league four times in Putouts.  However, that’s not enough to get into Cooperstown.  I’m afraid Frankie Frisch played a role.  For the disregard that Frisch showed to the quality of player in the Hall of Fame, I almost think Frisch should be kicked out of Cooperstown.  On his way out he can take Dave Bancroft with him.
