Hall of Fame Yardsticks:

Black Ink: Batting – 1 (723) (Average HOFer ≈ 27)
Gray Ink: Batting – 165 (65) (Average HOFer ≈ 144)
HOF Standards: Batting – 50.0 (74) (Average HOFer ≈ 50)
HOF Monitor: Batting – 84.0 (201) (Likely HOFer > 100)

This is an interesting case.  His career numbers easily put him in Cooperstown, and ultimately they are what makes me agree with his induction.  If you look at his top ten ranking in offensive statistics, it further cements his legacy.  However, if you look a little closer you’ll see that while he was generally a top ten performer in every offensive category, he basically never led the league in anything.  That is why his HOF yardsticks are so low.  He holds some defensive records (Games, Putouts & Triple Plays by a First Basemean), which helps his cause.  In the end I believe Eagle Eye did enough to earn his Hall of Fame spot.
