I am befuddled by Travis Jackson’s inclusion.  My first thought was “who did he sleep with to get into Cooperstown”.  His career numbers are equally as unimpressive as his yearly rankings.  I’ll give him credit for having a cool nickname.  “Stonewall” is simpy a bad-ass nickname.  I guess his saving grace was his defense and the fact that he played Shortstop.  He was considered one of the best at his position in his era.  He falls way short of all of the HOF yardsticks.  I hate to step on the toes of the VC, but I can’t see how they can justify Travis Jackson’s inclusion while Dave Concepcion is continually ignored.  There are dozens of players that I feel are more worthy.  If I could trade his spot for one of them, I would.

One of the critisisms of the Old Veterans Committee was that their was alot of politics in picking members,
Now it is Hall Of famers on the Veterans committee and this group does not want to allow anyone else in,

Larry – Yeah. Whenever there are opinions and power mixed together, it can cause some problems.
