Dallas Cowboys’ Practice Facility Collapses

May 3, 2009

I know there are two types off football fans.  Those who love the Dallas Cowboys and those that hate them.  Yesterday the Cowboys experienced an ordeal that should make the most passionate Eagles/Redskins/Giants fans show some compassion for their heated rivals.  A major storm hit their practice facility, forcing it to collapse and injuring twelve in the process.  Dallas’ Special Teams Coach Joe DeCamillis broke his back, which will require surgery.  Thankfully there weren’t any causualties.

For further details, including a video report, swing by ESPN.
Dallas Cowboy scouting assistant Rich Behm was paralyzed as result of the storm.  Here is Jerry Jones’ statement:

“To the Behm family we extend our love, comfort, and the full support of every person and resource within the organization.  Rich is a courageous member of our family and someone for whom we care deeply. We ask for all friends and fans of the Dallas Cowboys to join us in embracing him and his family with their thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.”

Such a sad story.  My thoughts and prayers are indeed with Rich and his family.
