If you’ve been following basketball closely, you’ll know the following players have been playing out of their minds.  If not, it’s time to play catch up.  Here are some of the hottest players in the league.

Allen Iverson
-  Of course A.I. can score, which is evident by the 26.3 points per game he’s averaging over his past six games.  What makes him En Fuego is the 11.2 assists per game he’s averaging over that stretch.  Throw in 2.8 steals and 1.7 three-pointers per game for good measure.

Corey Maggette - Corey has been a beast over his past three games averaging 31.3 points, 6.3  rebounds, 1.7 assists, 2.3 steals, and 2.7 three-pointers per game while shooting 58% from the floor and 93.3% from the line.

Carmelo Anthony
- In his five game absence (ankle) ‘Melo must have went to a rebounding clinic because he’s averaged 9.0 boards in the five games since his return, including 15 vs. Portland.  Oh yeah, he hasn’t forgotten about his scoring touch either (31.6 ppg), going for a career high 49 vs. the Wizards.  He can share too (3.2 assists per game).  He’s also shooting 55.7% from the field and 94.3% from the line.  Yeah, I’d say he’s on fire.

Josh Smith - Josh has been really stuffing the stat line over his past six games.  He’s averaged 17 points, 7.7 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 2.3 steals, and 3.5 blocks per game.  He’s shot 50.6% from the floor during that stretch.

Amare Stoudemire
- Until Shaq is ready to go, Amare will likely put up huge numbers.  That’s what Amare has done over his past four games.  He’s averaging 28.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 3.3 blocks per game while shooting 52.9% from the floor and 93.2% from the charity stripe.
