The New England Patriots Looked Old…Don’t Panic

Sep 8, 2017

Tom Brady Intense
Remember when Brady and the Patriots were losing 28-3 in the Super Bowl? Brady led the charge back for his fifth Super Bowl victory.
Remember in 2014 when Brady averaged 197.8 yards and a touchdown in the first four games, including an embarrassing loss to the Chiefs? Brady went on to throw for 4,109 yards and 33 touchdowns en route to his 4th Super Bowl victory.
The Patriots will take some time to get the offense in sync. You’ll need to be patient with your Patriots on your fantasy roster.
The Chiefs are good. They have a strong defense. Eric Berry played Gronk exceptionally well. Not many teams (including the Chiefs now) have a player that can go toe-to-toe with the big man. The Chiefs have a good pass rush. They made things uncomfortable for Brady, eventually getting to them when the Patriots became one-dimensional.
As for the Patriots defense, as you heard ad nauseam, has new pieces and injuries last night. Plus, the Chiefs offense is pretty darn dynamic. They’ll be better. Before you go dumping them, remember they’ll face the Jets and Jay Cutler twice.
Go ahead and fire some offers for Brady and Gronk. Who knows they may have a skittish owner. If you have them though, know when to hold ‘em. The Pats will be back in business. With the extra prep time look for Belichick to get things turned around quickly.
