Placido Polanco went one for four with a home run and three RBI (15). Ryan Madson struck out two in a scoreless inning of relief for the win.

Washington Nationals @ St. Louis Cardinals (Game One)
Danny Espinosa went three for five with two runs. Ian Desmond went one for four with two RBI. He also stole home. Laynce Nix went two for four with two runs, a homer, and two RBI. Ryan Theriot went four for five with a run.

Washington Nationals @ St. Louis Cardinals (Game Two)
Yadier Molina went two for three with an RBI. Rick Ankiel went two for four with a run and an RBI. Mitchell Boggs got the call to nail down the save and he succeeded.

San Francisco Giants @ Colorado Rockies
Seth Smith went two for three with three runs and two RBI. Ty Wiggington went one for four with a home run and four RBI. Jose Morales went two for four with a run and an RBI. Ryan Spilborghs hit a three-run homer. Freddy Sanchez went two for three with a run. Jorge de la Rosa gave up two runs on four hits with six strikeouts in seven innings to improve to 3-0 with a 3.00 ERA.

Ryan Raburn went one for four with two runs and a homer. Adam Kennedy went two for four with a homer. Rick Porcello gave up one run on four hits with six strikeouts in 6-2/3 innings for the win.

Kosuke Fukudome went two for two. Jason Bartlett went three for four with a run. Nick Hundley went two for six. Will Venable went one for five with three stolen bases. Ryan Ludwick went two for four. Dustin Moseley and Matt Garza each threw six scoreless innings, but they did not factor into the decision.

Chris Denorfia went three for five with a  home run. Cameron Maybin went two for four with two runs, a homer, and a stolen base. Ryan Ludwick went three for four with two runs, a home run, and two RBI. Kosuke Fukudome went two for five. Darwin Barney went two for five with an RBI. Reed Johnson went three for four with an RBI. Aaron Harang gave up two runs with five strikeouts in six innings to improve to 4-0 with a 1.88 ERA.

Boston Red Sox @ Oakland A’s
Jed Lowrie went two for four with a home run and two RBI to raise his average to .462. Marco Scutaro was two for four. Coco Crisp was two for five with a home run and two RBI. Mark Ellis went two for four. Hideki Matsui went two for four with a run. Clay Buchholz gave up one run in 5-1/3 innings for the win.

Los Angels Angels of Anaheim @ Texas Rangers
Matt Harrison had a decent game allowing three runs on four hits with five strikeouts in 6-2/3 innings, but it was Jeff Weaver’s complete game that told the story.
