Here’s a look at the unheralded fantasy baseball players who played well yesterday.

Boston Red Sox @ Cleveland Indians
The story here, besides Boston falling to 0-6, was the pitching. Fausto Carmona (seven scoreless innings, two hits) and Jon Lester (seven scoreless innings, three hits, nine strikeout) tossed gems. Marco Scutaro went two for two with a walk.

Oakland A’s @ Toronto Blue Jays
Same deal here. Trevor Cahill (eight innings, one run, three hits, seven strikeouts) and Ricky Romero (7-1/3 innings, one run, four hits) were great.  Conor Jackson went one for three with the game-winning RBI.

Houston Astros @ Cincinnati Reds
Brett Myers gave up two runs in 6-1/3 innings. Sam LeCure gave up two runs with six strikeouts in five innings. Neither factored into the decision. Edgar Renteria went three for three with an RBI.

Colorado Rockies @Pittsburgh Pirates
Dexter Fowler went two for five with two runs. Ryan Spilborghs went two for five with a run and an RBI. Esmil Rogers gave up one run on four hits with seven strikeouts in 7-1/3 innings for the win.

Minnesota Twins @ New York Yankees
A.J. Burnett gave up two runs on five hits with five strikeout in six innings to improve to 2-0. Dusty Hughes had two strikeouts in a scoreless inning for the Twins.

Atlanta Braves @ Milwaukee Brewers
Carlos Gomez went two for four with a run. George Kottaras went two for four with an RBI. Shaun Marcum gave up two runs on five hits in six innings to even his record at 1-1.

Tampa Bay Rays @ Chicago White Sox
Edwin Jackson, yesterday’s streaming pitcher option, gave up one run on four hits with 13 strikeouts. Brent Lillibridge went two for three with a run and an RBI.

New York Mets @ Philadelphia Phillies
Placido Polanco went two for five with four RBI. Wilson Valdez went four for four with three runs and three RBI. Raul Ibanez went one for three with three runs, a home run and two RBI.

Washington Nationals @ Florida Marlins
Ian Desmond went two for five with a run and two stolen bases. Adam LaRoche went one for five with a two-run home run. Tyler Clippard struck out three in two scoreless innings. John Buck went two for five with a run. Wes Helms went two for four.

Detroit Tigers @ Baltimore Orioles
Mark Reynolds went two for three with a run and three RBI. Austin Jackson went two for five with a run and an RBI. Brennan Boesch went two for four with a run and an RBI.
